Join us for the May edition of “Poems from Connecticut’s Four Corners,” featuring poets representing each of the state’s four corners, plus one from the central Hartford area. Our May featured readers are: Brian Clements, Marilyn Johnston, Jim Kelleher, Karen Warinsky, and Christie Max Williams
“Poems from Connecticut’s Four Corners” readings are held on the first Wednesday of every month at 7:00, hosted by Ridgefield Poet Laureate Barb Jennes

BRIAN CLEMENTS’ most recent collection of poems is A Book of Common Rituals. The author or editor of more than 15 collections and online projects, he teaches at Western CT State University. 

MARILYN JOHNSTON, a six-time Pushcart Prize nominee, is the author of two books of poetry and a chapbook, Against Disappearance. She founded the Wintonbury Poetry Series in Bloomfield.

JIM KELLEHER, poet and essayist, teaches literature and composition at Northwestern Connecticut Community College. Jim has published two books of poetry and one drama-in-verse book.

KAREN WARINSKY is the author of Gold in Autumn (2020) and Sunrise Ruby (2022). She curates poetry series at Roseland Park in Woodstock, CT, and The Rose Room Cafe in Webster, MA.

CHRISTIE MAX WILLIAMS’ debut poetry collection, The Wages of Love, won the 2022 William Meredith Poetry Prize. Cofounder of The Arts Café Mystic, he is also an award-winning actor.
