In a few days I will wipe out all old blogs ,as my media is full and I don’t wish to pay 4.00 a month for upgrade. I will keep the same site …. but hopefully they don’t swipe out all my friends that I’m following… guess I’ll find out!
The challenge quilt is done ,and given back to the church sewing ladies. I enjoyed doing it but I don’t think I will do another one even though I have the pattern.

Now for spring flowers that are popping up very quickly ,the days have been warm and sunny.
Some unique photos… a trees that is washed out… gnarly roots.. limestone…. hurricane damage….
Birds nests,and one that also uses cotton for bedding!😄

Sorry…. that I’m a day late. We were not home over the weekend. Leona has had the flu ,and has been rather sick for close to two weeks. I did notice that while her illness seem to be getting better her spirits were low. Leona is a happy child often humming in her off tune way, so this had me concerned. Steve (hubby) and I were sitting in the family room Friday noon as he can in from the office for lunch. I mentioned to him my concerns. He looked at me in a knowing way,then at Leona saying casually that the weather would be perfect for camping. Leona’s face lite up with a hardy grunt of excitement. So that is just what we did. We were on the road in less than two hours heading to our favorite state park! We had a very lovely weekend. The fresh air and enjoyable wheelchair strolls did much for her ,Leona is back to her humming self.😀
So now for the update on my projects…..
The double wedding ring quilt was worked on the most . Here I was last update…

A community lady was stricken with Alzheimer’s,she then gave all her sewing supplies ,fabrics and unfinished projects to the church sewing. I was handed this unfinished project to finish. It is an older pattern maybe 80’s at least the fabrics are. Here is what was handed to me….
I had the challenge of figuring out what was done and what wasn’t ….I soon discovered that she had the colors backward from the pattern,with two of the blues switched.
I switched the blues around .. if I had been a little wiser … I should have just redone those first strips. I’m a very visual person and the color coded instructions messed me up at time or two.
I finally covered the color code and worked by letter and numbers… things are going much better ,I will soon have it finished for the church ladies then to do with as they please.
Cleaning my sewing room yielded some cute fabric that instead of cutting up I just added a fleece backing ,knotted them…and they were done!
A nice start on this Years charity quilts.
I have been practicing my drawing….. if you see a fault,and would like to give a pointer or tip to improve I would be most happy to know.
I need to work more on sketching structures….
That bottom wall is a little sorry..😀

I’m so doing the happy dance! 💃 I finished the Fire Island Hosta quilt 100″by 100″ that is for my daughter. I wanted to have it done awhile back but I’ve been slow at times in working on it,as it has been a little over a year since I’ve put it in the frame!😳
It is now ready for her to see when she gets back from Puerto Rico! Here it is for you to see today….
This is where I was three weeks ago ,that last Black border to do. Now …
It is even washed ,and is wonderfully quilt soft.
The back fabric up close that really is black in color, I wanted the flora pattern to show more than the black…

I also got the next Fire Island Hosta that’s for my son and his new wife into the frame with a small part of the corner worked on. This will now be included in with my three projects that I’m working on.
Sorry to say that the other projects suffered… so much so that’s nothing to report.

SUMMER… well not really just to a warm place…
We are having a winter this year with cold temperatures and snow ( a little snow) which makes for some lovely pictures but wait until you see the like summer ones that my daughter has sent to me as she is in Puerto Rico involved in hurricane clean up relief. First some cold photos….
Now for some warm ,sunny photos to warm our eyes….
And then after a very rainy miserable day … the sun shone through the clouds to give us this beautiful rainbow…
May this week be as beautiful as the rainbow.
I have so enjoyed seeing what everyone has been doing, makes my eyes so happy!

Three weeks ago …
I was working from the bottom of photo to the top quilting the black and red points and the white piece right above it. Now I just have to finish the border and the rest of the red and white point piece.
Maybe by next update I will be able to say finished!🤞

Over quarter of the way done. I’m founding out why I may have put this top in the bottom of the bag for so long I forgot I started it..the navy fabric wrinkles awful,and it is rather hard to quilt.

The last few weeks of last year were busy , full of lively chatter, lots of hugs ,kisses and then ……

Then the cold hit…. we went from flip flops to socks ,boots,and coats in 24 hrs time.
So the tender plants got covered with straw…
But forgot barn pipes 😱…..
Then today after the House became silent… very silent! Leona and I watch the snow fall softly down.
The stove was a real blessing to sit beside…
The new pencils I received as a gift I had to try out…
