See ya there!
I will be starting at new site from here on ,as I have run out of media storage.🥴
The new site is.. abearsthimble3.wordpress.com . Hope to see you there next update.
Now for a quick update….
I have finished Snowy River Hosta quilt top. Sorry about a poor photo ,I had to photograph the top myself with no floor space big enough to lay it out. I need to figure out a way to take photos by hanging tops from that rafter. Some kind of clips ?

I have started to mark the large top , have a little ways to go!

I’ve also been working on the wedding ring quilt as well in the evening , I try to do at least an half hour every evening. I have 81 rings to do with 11 of them finished.

That’s it for me , folks!😊

We are back home again! It feels good to be back to normal routine, although if we are called again to serve we will be glad to.
Some of the staff , us included had a picnic at the Daniel Boone State Park . It has a beautiful falls, that gives the only Moon rainbow in the US.
It was also a nice way to say our goodbyes as we parted different ways.

Now time for the update..
I have been working hard on the snowy river hosta quilt. Here is where I’m now.

The yellow on the outside edge isn’t showing very yellow. It is a soft yellow.
I have been working on this wedding ring quilt a little at a time.

That’s all for me this round, now off to visit the others update.

These last three weeks have been a whirlwind ,and it looks like it will be for awhile as Mother Nature is really busy this spring! More on that after the update.
I was able to work on the whole cloth quilt a little this week .Here is where I was six weeks ago …

Here’s where I am now…

I am also working hard on the snowy river quilt. This quilt has a time frame on it so it takes priority.
I cut and bagged the different quilt parts so I wouldn’t lose any with all the moving around.

Here’s what I got done…

Now a little on our disaster rapid response team for CAM. We have finished up in Selmer TN , moved to Henderson KY ,have been here for two weeks with another week to go , then on the Hopkinsville,KY where there was serious flooding. A Baptist pastor said some of the houses that still need doing have had water all the way to the ceiling. We will help out there for a bit ,then on to London KY where the tornadoes just went through.
The helping hands here in Henderson have been many! As many as forty a day have volunteered to help gut out water soak homes.

The finished work..

Happy stitching folks!

I have my wedding ring top finished and marked ! That is exciting for me. Here’s how I marked it.

Then I had a young lady ask me to make her a quilt.
This is the pattern she wishes.

So I reckon y’all will be seeing this quilt for awhile!
I have been working on my whole cloth quilt also but it is in Middleton TN , in the rv. We are helping with the tornado clean up.
We came home this weekend to mow up yard , so I’m in Chuckey ,TN and the quilts 5 hrs away. Update on that quilt later.
A few photos of the tornado that went though Selmer,TN.

Makes me count my many blessings!!
Happy stitching!

Spring is in full swing here , the tree leaves are popping out at a rapid paste, red bud trees are gorgeous, blue bells blooming, tulips and daffodils swaying in the breeze, sheets and quilts flapping on the washline. Weed whacking and lawn mowing are also on the to do list every week.
However , I did sit for a bit each day to work on one of my quilts.
The star quilt has eight blocks done.

On the wedding ring quilt..
I have nine more blocks to sew together than add these to the main part. I will then have a finished wedding ring quilt top!!

On the whole cloth…
I was here..

I love children’s art, it warms the heart!!

I’m still finding things I didn’t finish in my storage bins.
Like this double wedding ring top that the largest part was done with three rows to finish. I enjoyed founding all the pieces to finish it, then sat promptly down to sew.
I had nine more blocks to finish sewing which is the last row (nine) and row eight ready to add to the top

Then I found this photo of a quilt that caught my fancy, and decided to make a quilt similar to it.

So I pulled out pencil and paper to figure out measurements after several blocks being scrapped , I finally got the correct measurements.

The blocks are to be set on point. I have the outside blocks that I need to decide if I want plain blocks or the posted stamp blocks which would be in a triangle shape . This pattern photo gives you an idea of what I’m talking about.

So.. I think the posted stamp blocks will look better , making them might be a bit tricker than plain blocks.
I also finished this little quilt with the blocks made by Great Grandma on hobby’s side.

I didn’t forget the whole cloth quilt .😀 surprisingly!
Here’s where I was….

Here’s where I am now , working on the corner to start down another side.

And spring is showing its face here , so I did do some yard work.

That’s it for me!

My heart is sad to think that Nanette will no longer be here. She did such lovely appliqué, I was always amazed at her fine work.
I did get something done this round.
First I found a quilt ( while unloading storage tubs in my sewing room) that needed the bonding done , why I never finished it I’ll never know!🤷🏻♀️
Here is this quilt that I made from an English garden design sent to me from a friend from UK.

Also took the border off this quilt that my daughter found at a yard sale. I didn’t like the border for it messed up the beauty of the quilt itself.

I may or may not put a border back on… still thinking about that one….
Now the whole cloth quilt.
Here’s where I was last time

Here’s where I’m now almost to a corner on a queen size quilt.

That’s it for me this round.
Didn’t have the heart to remove Nanette this round.

I’m right happy with the quilting I have gotten done this around!
The snow and the cold have moved on with warmer temperatures on the forecast for this week as high as 65, a change from the high of 28*.
Those chilly days were so nice for quilting . I want to see how much of this queen size quilt I can do before real warm weather , not sure if I’ll be able to finish it though .
This is what I have achieved this round.

The blue shows where I’ve been quilting this round.

That’s it for me
Until next time … happy stitching!🧵

A very warm welcome to Laura!!
The weather here has been perfect for digging out a quilt I started before life took on a new twist in the road.
It’s feels good to have a quilt spread out on your lap as the snow is falling.

This is the quilt I’m working on .

My goal is to do a hoop every week…
