• Dec.14….Hand quilting update…

I was so excited the week before last update to say I had reached the half way point on my quilt …. Well , life doesn’t always go like you think it’s going too!

Leona caught a bad cold … coughing , wheezing, fever and sore throat. Anyone knows that with handicaps , this isn’t easy for the caretaker . Then little Mr. Buster got sick a few days later… don’t know what he got into but whatever it was , was nasty! The poor little dog throw up over twenty times plus having diarrhea on top of that . So the family room was the sick bay , with Leona and Buster sharing the couch .. me in a recliner close by. Buster bounced back quicker than Leona( which I thanked the Lord for , for Leona was so worried he would die, even though I tried to reassure her all would be well in a few days)

Leona is doing so much better still has a cough , but time will take care of that too.

So now I can do a happy dance that I’m over half way through this quilt!!

    Sweetness🥰

  • Nov. 2….. Hand quilt along update….

Three weeks have whirled around again!

Here’s where I was last update..

I finished that row , then rolled the quilt and here’s where I am now..

I was hoping to have this row done so I could say I was half through , didn’t make it. I have the arrow marked to do yet.

The tree leaves are gorgeous right now ..I have been enjoying them so much!!

Also been drying apples to take to PR , when we go in Dec to see our new grand baby!

It isn’t easy to get apples there , and if you do they are high priced!! with drying them ,they are lighter in weight so we can pack more in.

    The new grand son.❤️

    That’s it for me!!

Off to visit the other updates.🏃🏼‍♀️‍➡️

  • Oct. 11… Hand quilt along update..

I missed last update , simply because we were visiting the children and grands. We had a wonderful long weekend!

I didn’t quit quilting though on the snowy river hosta. I’m hoping that by the next update I will have passed the half way mark.🤞🏻

I’m working in the box at the end of the quilt.

A few close ups of the quilting

That’s it for me this round.

There were some cute little coons that got treed by Carolina just outside our door. We got to enjoy them for a day until evening when they got brave enough to come down to make a run to the woods.

Now I’m off to visit the other quilter’s post on their updates.

    Come along if you wish!😀

  • August 31…hand quilt along update…

I didn’t get much done to the wedding ring this round. The weather has been gorgeous here! So I worked outside catching up on the outside work that I’ve left set when it was hot out.

This is all I’ve got done on the wedding ring quilt.. what you see in the photo is what I did.

    Not even a ring finished

I did keep pushing on the snowy river hosta quilt though . Here’s where I was last time.

Top half done within the black line

I finished this row , rolled the quilt some …

And finishing the part marked within the black line.

A close up of the quilting. It is hard to capture the quilting in the dark areas.

That’s it for me this round.

My rose bush is happy with the cooler weather!

  • August 10.. Hand quilt along update….

I’ve been able to quilt more this round. It’s been nice to just be able to keep my nose in doors as the weather has been very warm! Thankful it is starting to cool down a bit.

I didn’t have my quilt frame out of storage down in Ga, so hubby made a quick one for me out of sawhorses. Love it!! Here is the quilt in the frame.

Working from the bottom of the photo to the top I did the first border .

Then I worked on the swag , with half of the swag finished. Once I get the swag on the other half done, I’ll be able to roll close to the black line.

I also worked a little on the wedding ring quilt with 6 more blocks add on the the 11 others that were finished …17 out of 81.

    Wedding ring

    That’s it for me!

  • July 20… a this and that post..

A peek into my little world….

Buster when a thunderstorm goes through.😂 he hates loud noises!
My daylilies this year are just blooming away!
Old garage door parts put to good use.
    Homemade wheat bread
I’m learning how to made kombucha, the flavors are peach and grape. I’m hoping it helps Leona’s digestion some.
New path to the little shed ,makes it nice that I don’t get wet feet by the wet grass in the mornings when I need to start the washing.
See the old watering can .. I was gifted that can by my daughter! I was delighted ! Just need to find some hydrangea mop silk heads.
A beautiful peony to end the post!😍

    Thanks for stopping by!
