It's a.....

BOY!!!!!!!

Abby came with us to the ultrasound. She was sad it wasn't a girl, but she took it like a champ. We have been telling her the perks of being the only girl. Everything looks great. We are very excited to meet this little guy in MAY.

Christmas Program

Bryson and Abby were in a little Christmas Program together for school. Luckily they got to sit next to each other. Abby is in the plaid dress and Bryson is in the light blue sweater vest. They did a great job. Here are a few of the songs they preformed.

Final 4

For those who haven't heard or didn't make it through my super long Halloween post, we are expecting our 4th and final child in May! Abby is certain it is a girl, but we will have to wait until December to find out for sure. I have definitely been sick, but this has been the easiest pregnancy so far. The baby is currently the size of a lemon, but I already feel like a watermelon.

I had an epic parenting fail. I had an ultrasound at 8 weeks. We weren't ready to tell the kids yet. They caught me showing Ben the pictures and asked what they were. The ultrasound lady had said that it was the size of a gummy bear, so I said it was a picture of a gummy bear in my tummy. A month later we told the kids and I explained that it wasn't a gummy bear it was a baby. Sunday rolls around and Abby's primary teacher pulls me aside to tell me congratulations and that Abby had told her I had eaten a gummy bear and now I am having a baby! Abby and I had a little talk that night about how babies do not come from gummy bears. :)

Veteran's Day

My brother spoke on Veterans Day. He gave an amazing speech and I hope you take the time to listen to how a Marine feels about war and freedom.

Halloween, Abby's Birthday and More

Between church, school and family, I think the kids had 5 different Halloween parties. The first one was the ward party and I hadn't finished all the kids costumes so Bryson and Austin were pirates and Abby was a Barbie Princess.

Rapunzel and Flynn Rider

Pascal the lizard

The Halloween Party at Ben's Work

Cotton Candy

Abby was very brave holding the snake and didn't even scream when the man put a tarantula on her head :) I'm not sure she knew it was there.

Spinning Plates

and scorpions oh my!

Abby's 5th Birthday! I can't believe it!

She was pretty excited when she realized it was her own music box :)

This Weeks Plans

So I decided to get a head start on Halloween costumes this year. Abby is going to be "Tangled" and Bryson is going to be Flynn Rider. First off, if you are planning on sewing your kids costumes, head over to Hancock Fabric. I wish I would have gone there first, I would have spent about a 1/3 of the cost, they are having a huge sale. Anyhow, here are the patterns I will be using.

A tip if you are going to do the Braided hair, it tells you to do them as to separate parts, DON'T!. Save yourself a lot of aggravation and do it as one long piece. I got the Tangled pattern on sale for $1.99.

Mccalls' Pattern 5214 for $0.99

I am going to modify this pattern to be Pascal for Austin:) McCall's Pattern 2335 also $0.99.

A food update, the grilled pizza was AMAZING! The Alfredo was very good (I think it calls for a bit too much garlic and mine was a bit lumpy) but everyone enjoyed it. The tortellini salad (I put it over lettuce)was excellent. Flank Steak, mango quinoa salad, and kabobs were also very delicious.

Some Recipes I will be making this week (I didn't get to all of them last week).

 Zuppa Toscana    homemade bread sticks

Honey Lime Chicken Enchiladas
Grilled Pizza (yes, again :)
Orange Creamsicle Cookies obviously not a dinner, but they sound amazing

Spicing things up....in the kitchen that is.

So I feel like I have been in a dinner making rut, but through the beauty of the internet, I have a new meal line up plan. Which I am excited about, because I use to love cooking until it became my job and we have had a love hate relationship since, but cooking and I are back on speaking terms and enjoy each others company again. :)

Thurs - Kabobs
Fri- Grilled Pizza (If you have never had grilled pizza before you are missing out, Thanks for introducing me Camille )
Sat- BBQ Chicken legs (how my daddy does it, the best)
Sun- Tortilini Pasta Salad (My Cochran Family dinner contribution)
Tues - Beef Stroganoff (How I think my mom did it)

So there you go. Happy Cooking.
P.S. Ben is happy to announce that I have finally found a "social network" that I actually enjoy. pinterest.com get on the train! A way I can finally organize all the things I want to do/try. Thanks for bringing me to the light Saz :)
