CELPIP test preparation 27 February 2021

Today I registered for a CELPIP test; Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program or CELPIP is the Canadian version of IELTS or TOEFL; in this test, they examine your abilities in four primary skills. One of the most complex parts of any English test is the Writing section, one of the essential tools for improving this skill is daily writing, and a weblog is an excellent way to approaching this goal. I started registration for a new weblog, but I changed my mind and decided to write in my old well-loved blog Ajorpare, but in a new category. Because I always wrote about my life in this blog, and now CELPIP is another step in my life. By writing in the weblog, I can track my writing improvement, and I have to work on the other three skills as well.

Let talk about the pros and cons of the CELPIP test against ILETS. In my opinion, CELPIP advantages are as follow:

1- Fully computer-based, you don’t need to exam face to face with an examiner or write on a piece of paper. (actually, after the COVID pandemic writing section of the IELTS exam also turned to a computer-based but the speaking test still performing face to face with an examiner)

2- In Canada, CELPIP is cheaper than IELTS by 10%

3- CELPIP as a Canadian test, using American (Canadian) accent, is too much familiar to our ear than English accent.

4- All skills have been tested in one session, and it takes approximately 3 hours to complete all four skills. But in the IELTS exam, the speaking test has been tested on a different day.

5- Many test-takers believe the CELPIP exam is not easy, but you can achieve a higher score in the same proficiency level as IELTS.

6- A team of examiners is responsible for scoring your exam; in fact, your score is the average score from 4 or 5 different examiners to be more accurate.

The only weakness of CELPIP is that the study materials are limited, but in an optimistic point of view, it’s not a weakness; you can only focus on those limited books and don’t need to be wondering to select a book between millions.

OK. It was my essay (ensha) about the pros and cons of the CELPIP exam; I hope I will be loyal to my decision and write in a daily routine.
