Practicing Compassion: Key Questions for Self-Reflection

Real self-reflection isnโ€™t just about celebrating what you get right. Itโ€™s about asking: Who did I hurt? Why? Can I make it right? How can I do better next time? Compassion starts when ego takes a back seat.

What IS True Compassion?

This means that we are constantly thinking of others above ourselves, like a student, a peer who is at our same level, or a senior who society deems "unworthy," or a child, or a homeless person. You get my point. We need to value everyone. You never know who you can learn from, and that can only happen if you value everyone above yourself. Of course, this doesn't mean "low self-esteem." Instead, it speaks to the tendency of the ego to rise into its full nature, narcissism. We must not allow it and fight against it.
