Poppies of summer last year. We had such a long hot summer, and I thought I would be happy in the chilly days of winter. I’m ready for summer now.

Yeah, you come to this town and want to hang around more than you might have intended.

Walks down the road that always seem to lead to the water.

And the evening hours are the clincher. A few of these and you know you’re not going anywhere soon.

It’s a good thing.

Beautiful things are going on in the San Francisco Conservatory of Flowers.

Geese swimming down a street in the recent deluge we’ve had here in Northern California. Rain, in addition to king tides, has made for interesting times. The Carquinez Strait is off on the left of this frame shown, and the water is up and over its banks by a lot. One more day of rain today, and then it’s clear sailing.

These photos are actually from a train trip up to Sacramento, one hour from where I live. Quick day trip to visit with the daughter.

Staying home, with short little outings for a while is a good thing. I highly recommend it.

I went out to cut back the rose bushes as should be done around late December, and little Ms. Rosebud begged to stay just a little while longer. I granted her a stay of execution.

At the Musée d’Orsay in Paris one late December day, as time ticked towards another year on the way.
Wishing everyone peace for 2026.
