DSO on AIX 4.2.1, Apache 1.3.6 and JServ 104b
Following the suggestion of another FAQ-o-matic poster I simply copied the proxy sub-directory under src/modules to create a jserv sub-directory. I then copied in all the jserv code into this new sub-directory and re-worked the Makefile. This worked whereas the three steps suggested by the manual; i.e., configure, make, make install did not work. I tried any number of combinations but I could not get it to work.
Note I am using xlC 3.1.4.6 and I had to hack mod_compat.c .
Congratulations and Thanks to the JServ development team.

I had to hack jserv_compat.c, line 200. The xlC compiler was unhappy with sizeof operator.
