About Artist’s Journey

It is crazy how many twists and turns I’ve experienced as an artist. My free spirit has taken me through many uncharted territories, pushing me to learn new skills, on a personal and artistic level.

My creative journey reflects all these twists and turns. I started exploring painting very early on, but couldn’t resist exploring other forms of inspiration, like doodling, line drawing, surface patterns design, and low content journals, just to name a few. Even though these are very different approaches to creativity, they are all linked by imagination and inspiration.

Nowadays, I have not been able to paint or design much, but I am still creating daily through the unexpected and a newborn desire to write.

I know in my heart, these different forms of creative processes will collide beautifully in perfect harmony. I have seen it in my mind’s eye.

Creativity lives everywhere and inside each of us. We are all creative beings. We create our lives with every choice we make and it comes in many shapes and styles. Whether we create a meal, a product, or an idea, it all comes from our imagination and desire to bring it to life.

Below are some of the articles I published on the Medium platform in case you are interested in reading more.

Trying New Source of Income

Affiliated Programs

Earning additional income is something on everyone’s mind lately.

At least with people I have contact with, we all agree that everything is more expensive, from groceries to rent. Budgets don’t seem to stretch enough to cover our monthly bills anymore.

We used to travel at least twice per year. Then, we were able to take time off only once for Christmas. We moved to Virginia, and circumstances changed. Lately, we started living paycheck to paycheck and it seems harder every month.

For this reason, I was looking into Affiliated Programs. In case you are wondering what this is. Based on definition I found on PartnerStack:

In an affiliate program, an online merchant pays affiliates to send them traffic. There is a payout to the affiliate for that traffic, and then if the traffic buys the product, the affiliate receives a commission. An affiliate program is a cost-effective marketing strategy that works for both B2B and B2C brands.

So, in essence, people share products that have special created links attached to their accounts, and if buyers purchase these products, the holder of that link gets paid a commission.

Have you ever tried that? Do you ever click on Affiliated Links? Do you have any recomendations?

Let me know what you think.

Dream Collection 2020

Last year I participated in an Artist Workshop for an art licensing program. I’ve been wanting to do this for a while, so it was my chance to try it out. The cost was minimal, $14.99 for each workshop. It was extremely helpful.

Lisa Larson is the brains behind this workshops. She provides guidance at the beginning of each month on a Newsletter format, and ideas on how to proceed with your work. She builds a Pinterest Board filled with pins related to the monthly theme. In addition, Lisa is available through email, in case you have questions, and provides useful information about trends, the industry and other related matters through out the month.

I can attest to this, I always have tons of questions for her. 🙂

At the end of the quarter (4 months), whether you participated in only one or all of her workshops, she curates the work to be presented to potential clients for licensing purposes.

Below is the first ebook for last year’s quarter.

The excerpt below is form Lisa’s website in case you are interested.

Each month we publish our Dream Collection of work curated through our monthly themed workshops. There is much more artwork available from each of these artists, so be sure to visit their pages and contact us to view the private galleries.

How to Care for your Paintings

cleaning

Caring for your painting may involve a bit more than first imagined.

Experts recommend a dust-free environment. If you have a room dedicated to your collection of artwork, even better. However, not realistic for the everyday, cozy living, pet friendly, and plant lovers like us.

Most of us buy art to hang it in our living rooms, bedrooms and even kitchens. I have paintings hanging in every room of my home and they look amazing, even after many decades.

If your painting ever requires cleaning, I say, leave it to the professionals! Everything else we can handle by following this list of advice given by conservators and art curators.  Read more
