Welcome 2026!

Yesterday afternoon I played around in the kitchen and mowed the back lawn – thus, we needed a wee reward! And, in typical my fashion – I posted the three videos I recorded back to front! I promise, the others will follow in due course – making tomato sauce and getting a new brew started! however, here is the braai bit… for your enjoyment!
PS – Please help me get this page and YT channel growing – THANKS!!

Yes, maybe it’s time that I got a little more active here again – after all, when I started this blog it was to show you some skills that I was planning to develop, namely making biltong and boerewors! I believe I’m now quite proficient at both endeavours – so, why not share the fun? So – here’s a taster – a pic taken on our anniversary – our 5 meat mixed grill, pork rasher, chicken off a sosatie (kebab), venison sausage (no, not made by me…) lamb steak and beef steak – not forgetting a bit of veggies… LEKKER!!

I took this photo a few years ago… on St Patrick’s Day. As a South African, living in Ireland, I couldn’t resist combining something representing the liquid heritage of both countries… you guessed… Guinness and Pinotage… both winners. Remember… don’t mix them… you’ll be rather ill if you attempted to drink that concoction!
Gosh, this blog has been dormant for so long that I’ve almost forgotten it exists. However, Ailsa’s challenge this week is “cook“… and her photos reminded me that she missed the South African angle. So, I’ll throw in a wee gallery to assist… past braais, past pleasure… great memories!!
