(AFA 09) Cosplay
This is the last bit on AFA 09 and I have saved the best for last. Here’s a look at some of the lovely cosplayers I manage to hunt down before it got to crowded with other trigger-happy folks.
First up, is Haruhi. I dare say that this was a rather good attempt at cosplaying the great Haruhi.
Next are some Vampire Knights?
And then I get baffled by this vision in white. I have no hoot who she is cosplaying as, but she had the grace of a queen which I appreciate as an onlooker. =P
Tsubasa Chronicles’ Sakura. I’m not a fan of TS because I find it too much of a leap from CCS, which is my one true love. I couldn’t accept the character changes despite the alternate reality disclaimer. >_< May it be known that I am still a HUGE fan of CLAMP. I still love every one of their work.
This costume was totally gorgeous, even the bells made pleasant tinkling sounds when the cosplayer moved from pose to pose.
Here is another epic dress. I have no idea who this is suppose to be… but the dress was really beautiful.
I’m onto my third gown! Below we have Beatrice from Umineko. There are more epic dresses to come.
Finally some pants. Again, I have a vague idea what this cosplay is, but I’m not going to embarrass myself by making a guess. =P
I like taking sneaky cosplay pictures… and here’s one of some Vocaloid cosplayers.
Rin is cute… but I think this Miku cosplayer was pretty cute too.
Some Shugo Chara. I did a shugo chara cosplay (not of the main character… but of one of her alter-egos) a long time ago. Those were embarrassing times. XD
Another picture of cosplayers I can’t identify… I thought their costumes and attention to props were real nice though.
This picture just goes to show how well-received cosplayers are to kids. =)
And below is a more detailed look at the cosplayer in question. The pair are from Kuroshitsuji. And one is suppose to be a Trap in the anime/manga. =D
And the fancy dresses continue… with this lovely cosplayer who has the most awesome wig and hair accessories ever… well, I exaggerate… there are some other examples below that are equally stunning. =P
I like the cosplayer in the pic below. She posed really well and for a LONG time. Which must have hurt given the height of those heels.
Though her heels aren’t as epic as this Yoko cosplayer’s boots.
This emo/goth/whateveryoucallit couple really looked good together.
If I’m not wrong this horny cosplayer is from MonHunt? Or am I mistaken? Anyway, I preferred her looking all natural here compared to other photos I took of her when she was posing with the rest of her crew.
Here’s some more intricate hair accessories. Love the dress too. I think she was suppose to be C.C from Code Geass… but I’m not sure.
As I said, cosplayers attract little kids.
And I totally understand why the little girl stood there in awe of this cosplayer.
My favourite cosplayer of the event. I loved everything about her. =D
Okay… enough of the girls… now for some… erm… guys? These two are from KHR.
And this cosplayer below is the best looking trap of the day. =D
And this other lady is not a trap.
Ranka Lee…
She’s cute… though some people tell me there was another cuter one running around.
My favourite ninja shot, the cosplayer wasn’t really posing but I just love the way she remained in character anyway. =P
And seems like the whole crew from *insert-correct-title-here* where having fun.
They really looked good as a group… too bad I couldn’t get a picture of all of them together.
Nice abs… Probably took a long time to get them into shape. =P
For some strange reason, I really like this C.C cosplayer. She looked better in real life then on photo. I especially liked how she had C.C’s character accurately infused into her cosplay.
And I swear I wasn’t being bias because her mini shorts looked like pantsu.
Nice costume… cosplaying … someone from 007 ghost? (I’m so outta touch with Anime theses days…^^”)
Yuna? Whacha doing here?
And it looks like cosplayers are getting younger and younger. Neko-loli… XD
This marks the end of my belated AFA 09 coverage. Stay tune for a major announce regarding Berribunz Studio, coming soon. =D
(AFA 09) KANAME☆
AFA 09 wouldn’t have been the same without the delicious appearance of KANAME☆. While I have GB loads of pictures of the cosplayer hidden in my harddrive, I have just picked a few to share. If you happen to be in Tokyo, Ikebukuro, then you might want to consider visiting Royal Servant, the butler cafe that KANAME works at. =)
We first see KANAME in action as a judge for the AFA Regional Cosplay Championship 09 on Day 1.
On Day 2, KANAME has his own cosplay panel where he does a presentation on ‘cosplaying’.
One last post on AFA 09. =)
(AFA 09) The Dollfies
Like any other events, dollfie hobbyist have gathered for AFA 09 and here are some lovely pictures of the dolls that were at the corner booth (Atsuki GL?) facing the Moe Moe Kyun Cafe. =D
I’m feeling lazy thus the lack of any witty commentary about the photographs below. =P
(AFA 09)The Figure Show @SG
One major draw of this year’s AFA was bring the Tokyo Figure Show to Singapore. It was also an opportunity for us to catch a glimpse of Danny Choo, who brought with him a fantastic lineup from Good Smile Company (affectionately known as GSC). For those who are still left lingering in the dark, GSC is responsible for depleting my financial resources as they keep creating and selling lovely pose-able figurines like Nendoroids (and figmas). And in some attempt at keeping track of my purchases, I have created a corner on my sidebar that lists the Nendos that will be joining my chibi army in the following months.
Now onto the figures…
The lovely lady above is the Figma incarnation of Mirai Suenaga, site mascot for dannychoo.com.
And here we have comrade Kodomut‘s itachari. Makes me wish I there was one on a more Nendo scale for my Nendos to play with.
There was the whole Nendoroid lineup, from the oldest to the newest release. Since I have quite a few Nendos in my collection already, I didn’t spent much time taking pictures of them. But I like this picture as it features Nendoroid Melissa Seraphy, who I think is super duper cute! She is one Nendoroid I don’t have and will kill to get. Looks like she is on my wishlist to get while I’m in Japan sometime next week. =)
Mikuru looking good in her Meido outfit. I kind of like Mikuru, but she was a little too wimpy for my taste.
And I have no idea who this is… But I totally adore this backview. I actually like looking at scaled figures but I will never invest monnies to get one because of the lack of display space I have. And my logic is that if I have it, I should flaunt it, and not keep it hidden in a box under my bed.
I have no idea who this is either. But I love the angle and attention to detail.
And lastly, we have the famous Black Rock Shooter figurine. She is simply gorgeous. And I hope I will get a chance to steal her from *someone*, so I can get upclose and personal with this alternate version of Hatsune Miku.
More dollies tomorrow. Stay tuned. =D
(AFA 09) Randomness.
AFA 09 has matured since it’s first showing in 2008 . There were more exciting exhibits and special guest that had my fangirl senses tingling. However, the major factors that made AFA 09 truly an enjoyable experience has to be attributed to the comrades that I was with (you-know-who-you-are) and the fun discussions that occurred during all those times we spent waiting.
First thing I did was queue up to get into the KKnM booth. Which was pretty stupid in retrospective as I didn’t really want to get anything from the shop (that I couldn’t get from the shop normally)… but I still walked away with a Project Diva mug, a GA Art Class shitajiki and an assortment of loot for friends who couldn’t make it for AFA Day 1.
I think a major draw to queuing up was getting a chance to practice queuing for C77. =P Gotta love how the queue system was sort of more organized this year. And I was actually quite lucky as I was in the first 30 peeps in line. But I was stuck for quite a bit at the front of the queue because the people ahead of me was taking forever looting the event special items. =_=
And the queue behind me. Checkout all the fanboys and dire lack of fangirls.
I suggested to the KKNM staff that they should try setting up two lines next time around. One for fangirls and one for fanboys. So the poor fangirls who just want their Hetalia and KHR stuff don’t have to huddle in the midst of fanboy discussions, over Monster Hunt and which Bakamonogatari girl is their waifu, while waiting. =_=”
And another pic as I left the booth and took a peek at the end of the line which had grown to an incredible length.
The Visual Arts Society (VAS) of NTU comprises of three sub-clubs that cover Anime, Comics and Design. In some sense, getting involved with VAS during my University days is the reason I am who I am today. I started out being the Chairperson of Animeworks and eventually rose the ranks to become the President of the whole club. Being part of VAS has provided me with an opportunity to meet people of similar interests and create a circle of friends who I can share my passions with. I’m really glad to be part of the club’s growth and seeing VAS being part of AFA really makes me feel proud. Though I have moved on from my VAS days, I’ll continue rooting for the club and hope that others will get a chance to experience the fun times I had when I was in VAS.
One of the things we did in VAS is that we had regular movie screening or outings of Anime movies. Thus, looking at this signed poster of Summer Wars makes me nostalgic of those times. =)
Okay, now onto more irrelevant pictures:
These doll clothes (approx Azone/Barbie sized) are the creations from the students from SOTA? I’m not very sure. The display up were quite nice and interesting. Sadly I didn’t notice anyone nearby that was manning the booth who could explain more about what the whole display was about.
Here are cartons of UCC coffee with Evangelion characters emblazed on the cans. Which was a clever marketing idea since the second Eva movie was being shown in local cinemas during this point of time.
Production I.G had booth too! Just wished there were more interesting stuff up on display.
DOMO-KUN. He’s like a permanent fixture at all Anime-related events. =D

BANDAI has some of the cutest petite figures. =)
Here are some Prop Plus Petit from FMA. Al is so darn adorable!
And some more from Kuroshitsuji. One major problem I had with the display is the DUST. It’s so annoying that the glass was dusty and had smudges from fangirls trying to press their face up to the glass to get a closer look at the chibis.
Besides a whole host of chibi figures targeted at the fangirl demographics, there were also some for the boys.
The K-on girls looks good. =)
The girls were in their school uniforms…
and also in their concert gear.
I love Azu-nyan!
Lastly, we have a human-sized GUNDAM~! =D
More AFA 09 pics later.
(Dailybits) Raspberyl Ice-cream

Have a bite of Nendo Raspberyl if you dare. =P
Anyone missed me? =D
Since the end of my school term and the start of my holidays, I’ve been busy busy busy. After working hard, it has been time to play even harder. I have been pretty caught up in a whirlwind of social engagements and my Nendos remain neglected.
Let’s see if I can get the posting groove back and start posting more consistently. =P
(Dailybits) Bring Sexy Back.
It has been a crazy crazy week. First with all the assignments due, then with the huge ass party called AFA 09, I have not have time to stop and take a break. -_-“” So here’s just one picture which was taken during AFA, which has nothing directly to do with the event itself, before I start paying back my massive sleep debt.

This is the gorgeous backview of comrade Arayden’s lovely DD Saber (?). I personally prefer the old school Super Dollfies… but this girl is simply delicious. =D
There will be an obligatory AFA review blog post, but it will have to wait till I have time, and have the mood to sort through the pile of pictures that were taken. Till then, I’ll just keep posting random pics. ^^
(Dailybits) Oh Christmas Tree~!

I’ve been buried in assignments lately. And before I knew it, Christmas decorations have mushroomed all around me. Here’s Misao telling me to take a break and look around to see all the pretty lights. =)
(Dailybits) Yako resurfaces

It’s been a while since Yako had some airtime. =) This pic is from an archive of neglected photographs. I vaguely remember taking this picture near some old HDB flats above Bras Basah Complex. It’s quite a unique juxtaposition, having HDB flats sticking out in the midst of a busy business and shopping district.
