Our home journey 🏡

Oh my goodness! I have missed you all so much! Life has been a whirlwind and will continue to be, so I decided I would take a few minutes to update you all!

We are right smack dab in the middle of building our very own home! (Who knew it would be so much work? 🤷🏻‍♀️) Starting from purchasing the land to paying stuff off to get a loan, all the way to pouring concrete and putting walls up, we have done it all! There are still long nights and hot days ahead of us! I have shed blood, sweat, and tears and know I will shed many more. This has been such an incredible journey for my husband and I individually and as a couple. We have grown and become stronger from the whole experience! If I had to do it over again, I probably would, simply because of the sense of accomplishment it gives you to know that you’re building a home where you will make memories, have and raise your babies, will host holiday parties and family nights, and just create a beautiful life together. God has been so good to us through every single trial and tribulation we have incurred during this 3 year journey. It’s not over yet, but I am so glad we are where we are right now ❤️

Here are some pictures, starting from the very beginning, to document our process, thank you so much for taking the time to read this and please send all of the encouragement and prayers our way!

XO, Keri 😘

An uphill battle 🗻

Hey you! Have you ever just gone out for a walk or jog? Have you had to jog uphill and by the time you get to the top you’re so exhausted you have no idea how you’ll make it to the bottom on the other side? You’re so out of breath and start to get that little sharp pain in your side. You just wish someone would come a pick you up so you don’t have to continue to suffer!

Sometimes life throws us hard times, heartaches, pain. Either because of our choices or someone else’s, it still hurts to suffer. We all go through rough times and feel like we can’t make it to the top of the hill. We want to give up and stop because as humans we tend to see today and not tomorrow. We don’t look at how far we’ve come we usually only see how far we have to go.

My testimony is proof that if you keep going you can reach the top! God is always by our side, in good times and bad. He allows us to make our own choices and sometimes that comes with negative consequences. It’s never to hurt us though, you see, God is a Father! He wants us to learn and grow, even if that means we have to stumble a few times. He’s right there to pick us up when fall. He loves us!

So tonight, don’t go to bed defeated! You are a conqueror and you are NOT alone!! You are loved beyond words! You WILL reach the top! I believe in you and so does your Father!

Sweet dreams loves 💜

My kinda therapy! 🌵

Hey guys! Sorry I have been absent for the past few days, life has been busy! It’s finally FriYAY!! I am so ready for the weekend to be here 😍

So last night I was able to go to the shop and just hang out, paint, laugh, and eat pizza! Painting is one of my favorite things to do because, it allows me to only focus on that one thing and the rest of the world just seems to fade away for a second. I am in the moment. I am concentrated. Even if the painting comes out goofy looking I still enjoyed every minute of it!

Painting is a lot like going to God for rest, searching for him and allowing him to give you peace. When you search for something you are in the moment, you are concentrated. And when you find it you have peace and are able to rest. When we search for God he gives us those things. (John 14:27)

Life can get so busy and stressful. As humans we tend to hold on to heavy burdens thinking that we might be able to fix the problem ourselves or are too embarrassed to ask for help. But, Jesus wants us to take our burdens to him and he will give us the rest we need. (Matthew 11:28) So why not give it to someone who can carry the load much better than we can? Why not get rid of the stuff that’s weighing you down? He doesn’t ever judge us! He loves us ❤️

I love you and am here if you ever need to talk or pray about anything, no questions asked, judgement free ❤️

Happy Friday y’all! 🌼

The Women in my life ❤️

Happy Monday y’all! I normally do NOT like Monday’s, getting up early is the worst! But, this weekend I got lots of rest and felt great this morning!! What did y’all do this weekend?

So, I want to tell you about the amazing women that are (or have been) in my life and how they’ve each taught me something!

Starting with my momma, she had me when she was 17 and worked so hard to take care of her children. She had me (22), my little sister (20), and my little brother (16). Growing up she always had a job and taught me what it meant to take care of your family no matter what.

Next is my Nenny (grandma), we went to her house all the time growing up! She was a clean freak and always had something yummy to eat 😍 She loved her kids and grand babies with everything she had! She still is the cornerstone in our family.

When I was a teenager my mom and I went through so many struggles against each other (which is a long story for another time) but, because of that I met a woman named Tamara. She raised me in the moments I needed a mom most, taught me how to cook, how to pay bills, how to grow up and be a responsible adult, and so much more. I will forever be grateful to have 2 moms.

After meeting my husband I met his family, his mom, Stephanie, is such an incredibly strong woman. She is kind and loves others even when you would think she shouldn’t. She has taught me how to forgive, how to love unconditionally, and most of all she inspires me every day to have a closer relationship with God. She constantly does for others before herself and will give you the shirt off her back in the blink of an eye. She loves selflessly every single day!

We started going to a new church a few months back and I met a sweet woman named Samantha. Right from the start her kindness just radiated through her! She greets you with a smile and a hug, she checks to see how you are, she prays over you, she just loves you! She has been a saving Grace in my life and she may not even know it. She teaches me that it’s okay to love EVERYONE no matter what, because God loves us no matter what!

Mrs. Jennifer is my pastors wife who I’ve recently been able to get to know a little more, she is stunning and so incredibly sweet! She shows me how to be a better wife and one day how to be a great mom just through her interactions with her family! She always checks on me and has an encouraging word for me! 💕

I have come in contact with so many more than just these few, Francine, Brittney, Kelsey, my sister Alyssa, and so many more! They each hold a special place in my heart and I have learned from all of them! I am who I am today because of lessons they’ve all taught me ❤️

Today, send a message to someone you love about how they’ve impacted your life! You never know what an encouraging word can do for someone else!

My handsome hubby 😍

Happy Friday!!

If you’re like me, then your favorite time is the weekend! I love to sleep in, relax, and hang out with my family.

So I want you to be able to get to know me and to do that you have to know some very important people in my life, first off, my husband! It all started in 2012 when I went to a drag race and saw this incredibly hot guy walking around the pit area. All I could think was “I just want to say hi, I mean look at him 👀”. Apparently he was thinking the same thing!! We had a mutual friend who came over to where I was and told us there was a guy out there named Brendon asking about me. Of course I said please take me out there!!

When I walked up, there was a group of people standing all around him! Now, I’m super shy and reserved, and walking up to people I don’t know, to say hi to the hot guy standing on the left, I felt like I was going to hyperventilate 😨 (But I didn’t, yay me!) I said hi and walked off! He followed me and we talked for a few minutes, I gave my number to our mutual friend who passed it on to him and I don’t remember how long it was before he texted me but I do remember I was so excited that he had!

We hung out for a few weeks and then dated for 6 months before he proposed, we were engaged on a Friday and got married on a Monday at the court house. 6 months after that, we had a wedding and here we are almost 5 years later!! So many people asked why we got married at 18 and in High School, they questioned if we were expecting a baby, said we were crazy and wouldn’t last, told us we were too young. The first 2 years were so rough and we weren’t sure we would survive fight after fight. One day God broke through our hurting hearts and showed us that we were on the same team and could live happily ever after, it was just going to take some elbow grease!

We both began to pray and ask God to work on ourselves so that we could better serve the other, we prayed together more often than not, and we began to be good forgivers. Now don’t get me wrong, I still feel the urge to punch him every now and then (lol 😂), but we have learned to say sorry, forgive, and move forward. We don’t like to hold grudges against each other and we always remember who our best friend is!

I have never been so connected with another human, loved someone so deeply, and put someone else’s wants and needs above my own. I trust him and love him with everything I am and everything I have and I know he feels the same towards me ❤️ Fairytale love does happen, but not without God, and not without work!

Thank you for taking the time to read an article that holds a piece of my heart every time I share it! I love you and can’t wait to share more with you!
