My Review

Jason Smith is back in another unputdownable crime thriller. This is even better than the earlier books if that is possible.

The intrigue starts at the very beginning and the suspense comes along with it ramping up all the way through.

The team are confused and no idea what the motive is or which way to look for the suspects. It is complicated and a very entangled web for the team to unravel.

As always I really loved catching up with the lives of the team and enjoyed reading such a gripping book,

The Miranda trilogy is something totally different. A psychological thriller trilogy. It is a real departure from anything else I’ve written before.

The Detective Jason Smith series continues to grow. I also have another series featuring an Irish detective who relocated to Guernsey, the Detective Liam O’Reilly series. There are also 3 stand alone novels.

My Review

Another brilliant addition to the Detective Jason Smith series.  Although book 34 they do work perfectly as stand alone.

This is a very hard case for Smith especially on the back of the last case which completely drained him.  A woman is murdered and her young granddaughter is a witness.  The team are horrified at the evilness but the murderer is just getting started.  As more bodies are discovered the team are wondering if this is going to be the case to defeat Smith.  No motive, no clues and a race against time to make progress before someone else dies.

This is an absolutely gripping roller coaster of a read that had me turning page after page each one adding to the suspense.  I can honestly say I really had no idea how this was going to end or who was behind the murders – another absolutely brilliant book.  Stewart Giles has really upped his game with this book.

As always I loved catching up with the characters and their lives and I absolutely love how Fran and Laura are developing into amazing characters that are guaranteed to bring a smile to your face.

A great read and I can’t wait for the next book in this brilliant series.

My Review

Detective Jason Smith is back in this absolutely brilliant addition to the series.

The story starts with Smith on extended leave while he decides if it is time to part ways with the detective life. But then a lecturer from his past seems to be a significant suspect in a murder and Smith is back on form and on a mission to find out what is going on.

This is an absolute roller coaster of a book with many red herrings and curve balls thrown in to complicate the case. The bodies are stacking up but THE PROFESSOR is very clever. Is this going to be the case that beats the unbeatable Jason Smith?

The characters continue to deliver and change to make them very realistic and definitely human. I also love how their private lives become a seamless part of the story.

Darkness, humour, relationships and the hard reality of life are very well integrated into a gripping story that keeps the pages turning all the way to the end.

Absolutely brilliant read. 5 stars from me.

My Review

This is book 15 in the Detective Liam O’Reilly series but the books work perfectly as stand alone.

The book begins with an adrenaline pumping first chapter when a young man loses his life in a very violent manner.  From there the suspense continues all the way through to the jaw-dropping ending.  O’Reilly and his team are struggling to find out what is going on there is very little to link the victims and no real motive.  Whyhy are these people dying?  While struggling with the case O’Reilly again locks horns with the Editor of the Island Herald and this time the islanders turn against the police which adds more problems into the mix.

A very gripping story and I really enjoyed meeting up with the characters again.  I liked the introduction of the Acting Superintendent he brought more interest to the story.

Another brilliant read and I am looking forward to the next book.

My Review

Another absolutely unputdownable book by the brilliant Stewart Giles.  The suspense starts at the beginning and continues right to the end.

I love catching up with the characters and the back story from Bridge with his love life to Madge’s steak and ale pies.  Plus the teaser with PC Griffin that we all know is going to feature more in a book at some point.  I love it.

The story begins with the suicide of a young girl that is closely linked to Smith.  It feels personal but just how personal he has yet to discover, and that might push him right over the edge.

There are so many twists and turns as one suicide turns into more and the team feel they are linked but they can find no real link between the victims other than a broken mobile phone.  When it becomes clear that these people were forced to end their lives Smith and the team are determined they will track down the sadistic murderer who calls himself THE PREACHER.

This story has more twists and turns than a pretzel and has the adrenaline pumping faster than a roller coaster.  I love where the story takes a different direction that brings a whole new level of suspense.  Absolutely stunning story.

Book Review: THE HONOURABLE ROGUE (Detective Bliss #13) by Tony J Forder. #TheHonourableRogue #crimefiction @tonyjforder

Today I am sharing my review of THE HONOURABLE ROGUE by Tony J Forder.  This is book 13 in the brilliant Detective Bliss series and is a gripping read perfect for anyone who loves detective stories.

The Honourable Rogue by Tony J. Forder

A crew of cowboy builders take things too far when an attempt at theft results in a violent murder. Bliss is drawn in as SIO and leads the team in tracking down the gang. However, the best laid plans are sometimes not quite good enough, and when the four men scatter further lives are lost.

Meanwhile, somebody Bliss once put away and who remains in prison has information for him. What he has to say leads to a cold case in which the daughter of a local villain was found murdered, her supposed killer thought to be on the run for the past ten years. But while somebody has confessed to his involvement on that fateful night, all is not as it seems, and the team are led to conclusions they would rather not consider.

As the two investigations come to the boil, Bliss questions his own priorities and fears both cases may be slipping from his grasp. Because the more the teams learn the less they understand, and further acts of violence are never far away.

My Review

This is book 13 in the Detective Bliss series by Tony Forder and is a brilliant book.

Bliss has retired from the Police but is still working hard as a civilian investigator. Although his main role is investigating cold cases he is also SIO of major crimes with his old team.

Bliss is forced to face someone from his past, someone he never wanted to set eyes on again. But he has no choice as his latest cold case relies on what this person has to say and the clock is ticking to find out what he knows before illness takes his mind.

In the meantime Gul is checking on an elderly neighbour who has been ripped off when she finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time and is left unconscious. And so Bliss is back in the thick of it with an investigation into an attack on one of their own and also his cold case that is going to open old wounds.

I love this series and especially this book it is intriguing and gripping I found myself turning page after page. So many twists and turns with a helping of red herrings. I love that there were 2 different investigations ongoing each bringing its own intrigue and suspense. The conclusion to the cold case was a real shock I didn’t see that coming.

An absolutely gripping read I cant wait for the next in this brilliant series.

My Review

Stewart Giles has done it again, another unputdownable addition to the brilliant Detective Jason Smith series.

If you are looking for an edge of your seat thriller full of adrenaline pumping suspense with a storyline that is the stuff of nightmares then you need look no further THE WORKSHOP has all that and more with family life and issues interwoven into the story to soften the darkness.  I really could not put this one down the series just gets better and better and this one ticked every single box and many I didn’t know I have.

Jeremy Smythe’s precious Rangerover has been stolen and the team are tasked with finding out who is stealing cars and selling parts to order but as the investigation gets under way the team soon realise that there is also another parts scam running and this one is human body parts.  They are all shocked and traumatised by the brutality but also determined that they will find the people responsible and put them away.  It is going to be easier said than done as the full extent of the operation becomes clear these are clever and well organised criminals and this could turn out to be a case that beats even the brilliant Jason Smith.

Gritty, dark and heart racing I was turning page after page all the way to the jaw dropping ending.  I loved how Smith’s personal life was built into the story to offset some of the darkness.

An absolutely brilliant read and well worth the 5 stars.

My Review

I have no idea where Stewart Giles gets his ideas from but he keeps coming up with unique storylines that grip the reader from the first page and doesn’t let go until the last. this book is definitely up there with the best of them.

A very interesting story, adrenaline pumping suspense offset by the amusing parts cleverly integrated into the story. The human side of the characters brings a realism to them. I love that Oliver has a love interest and Bridge has reverted to his ‘love them and leave them ‘status. Brilliant book- absolutely love it.
