This Past weekend I went through the blog with Charlotte. It is amazing how different our lives are now with grown children and I am sure I will look back when it is 2025 and remember how young they were as an 8 and 11-year-old. But compared to even the last blog post, they seem so old!

We had a wonderful birthday party for my baby. Charlotte has officially entered the wonderful two’s. She throws tantrums, kicks and screams one minute and giggling the next. All I can do is laugh. Her new favorite thing to say is “Sassy do it!” which translated is actually “sissy do it” (we call her sissy, but she calls herself Sassy, which is so fitting.)
She is simply pure joy. I love watching her grow. The thing I love watching is her relationship with Bradyn.
Bradyn’s first year of skiing was a success. He came a long way since starting. He loves it!
Easter was even better this year because we had 65 degree sunny weather. Bradyn and Charlotte saw that the Easter bunny delivered some treats and his and hers lawn mowers. The best part was an Easter Egg Hunt at Nana’s house. I remember as a child the best part of Easter was the egg hunt at my Grandma’s house. My Grandma passed away a few weeks ago, so it was important for my kids to official start the tradition of egg hunts at their Nana and Boppa’s house.
And finally…..Charlotte being Charlotte
My Sunshine baby is now 4 years old. I just can’t wrap my head around that he is 4 already. Makes me sad that the time is going by so fast. Bradyn has continued to grow up as a little charmer. He opens doors for me and will say “ladies first” and always asks me how my day was with Charlotte when I pick him up from school. He is such a compassionate little boy and I am so proud to be his mommy.
Due to all the huge parties our family has thrown in the last 12 months, we decided to try something different this year and have a small playdate birthday party followed by a family party up in Suncadia followed by a special day out with a friend. Doesn’t sound like scaling back, but it turned out to be a great celebration for our big boy. He knows he is loved by all.

My Gift sent from Above…..
We decided that 4 years old is a great age to start skiing. I know people can pick up skiing at any age, but Bradyn has shown some interest as we would drive by Snoqualmie on our way to Suncadia so why not. Scott spent months getting all the gear ready, going to orientation classes and talking to Bradyn about it. The first lesson was a few weeks ago. Bradyn did great the very first lesson. He was sick, but his symptoms didn’t show up until his ski lesson lunch break, so the 1st lesson completely wiped him out and he felt miserable. This past Sunday, he was all smiles and ready to try it again and he was awesome. The lessons are from 11-4. LONG DAY for a 4 year old and for Scott who is the one taking him and helping out during the classes.
Bradyn performed in his Christmas concert yesterday. During a school auction last year, I purchased tickets to be seated in the front row. Worth every penny! He was cute last year, but this year he was just over the top cute. If you told me 5 years ago I would be witnessing this type of joy today, I wouldn’t have believed it. I am so lucky and blessed.
Short Version
The entire 7 minute Concert (for the Grandparents who can’t get enough) Charlotte saying “Brother” during the performance was the icing on the cake.
I can’t give excuses any more on why I am months and months behind.
After October 15th we left on a jet plane to San Diego. Both kids were amazing on the plane. Charlotte just won’t sleep, but she did good. Thank goodness for buying her her own seat. We stayed in the Mission Beach area so that we would be close to SeaWorld. (Dining with Shamu is the best money we ever spent) Our hotel was great for a family with a little baby. Charlotte had her own little room to herself and Bradyn slept in his own bed in our room. Bradyn was AWESOME on this trip. He went to bed and slept while Scott and I stayed up in the room watching TV or movies. In the morning, he would draw or play quietly until we woke up and was up for any adventure we did. Charlotte does not sleeping in Pack N Play so she cried for a tiny bit each night, but always slept in in the morning and was such a great baby sleeping on the go during the day. It was a beautiful trip.
I have to admit, I am completely in love with having a boy and a girl. We never cared about the gender of our kids while pregnant with all three of them, but we are so completely blessed to experience raising both a girl and a boy. I am in love. I am not playing favorites by posting more videos of Charley, it just happens that she is the one that won’t stop what she is doing when I start filming.
As everyone warned me, I won’t have much time to do much of anything after Charlotte was born and my blogging sure does prove that. I am just now getting around to the Suncadia trip we took in July. In my defense, I had a huge 1st party to plan for Charlotte and Cooper’s BBQ for Children’s. Both those events were two weeks apart and really wiped me out. So here we are 3 months later.
This is our 3rd trip to Suncadia in less than a year. It never gets old and seeing the season change is amazing. Our first trip was last fall which I think is my favorite time to go. Winter was a lot of fun sledding, but COLD and summer was HOT. Fall is just perfect. We hope to make our fall trip in November this year since we have a trip to San Diego planned for this fall (Poor Baby, I know)
Charlotte has changed so much from our 1st trip October 2011! Bradyn has too! Why are kids allowed to grow up!
