The first half of 2007 has been painful, but I’m trying hard not to cling to the negativity. Inspired by Clare’s “Three Beautiful Things” blog, I will remember what’s bright and good about every day and heal the broken bits.
1) The velvety-brown, gold-barred moth resting on the soap dispenser in the bathroom.
2) My coworker bringing homemade caramel corn to share with us.
3) Finally being able to focus on reading a book after many weeks of nursing a restless attention span (thank you, Alexander McCall Smith, for Blue Shoes and Happiness).
1) Putting on pants I haven’t worn in a while a) and they fit better, b) and I find money in the pockets.
2) Insalata Caprese for dinner.
3) The flavors of Valpolicella and chocolate-covered peanuts lingering in my mouth
1) A student lending me the first volume of the Death Note manga.
2) Going to the mall, dreading Xmas madness, but it’s actually quiet and slow.
3) Eating wonderfully salty and buttery pistachios.
