The Blues Man ~ Tom 2026

My good friend and eccentric/creative neighbor, Tom. I had the chance to shoot him (not literally) at his home. I took some good photos, and he gave me a couple of his blues albums as a show of appreciation. It’s embarrassing, really. I couldn’t play a chord to save my life, but he makes music look easy.

Alaska Totem ~ 2

It’s been a crazy few months. At the end of August, my two-year-old computer broke down. I took it to two different specialty shops, and both concluded that the motherboard was the problem.
Fast forward to now: I’ve been without a computer for four months, which meant I couldn’t do any photo editing or video making. Fortunately, during a Black Friday special, I found a pretty good deal on a new one. It took about a week to reinstall all my old programs and get everything running again, although I’m still facing some software issues.

Anyway, it’s good to be back! Hopefully, nothing else goes, Boink!

Alaska Trip ~ 2025 Totem Pole

After leaving Florida at the end of May, I headed to the inner coastal area of Alaska. On Icy Strait Point, I discovered a treasure trove of Totem Poles. These Totems are absolute works of art, each one telling a family history. Of course, I haven’t the foggiest what this one means…but I like it!

Storm on Galilee

“Storm on Galilee” was my last painting in Florida this year. The weather has been unpredictable; Florida experienced two major hurricanes on the Gulf side this fall, and many residents have mentioned that they don’t remember a winter this cold.

In Canada, specifically in Muskoka, my home, we have experienced a record snowfall of 25 feet and an extremely dangerous ice storm to cap off the season. Many roofs have collapsed, and numerous trees have fallen. It almost feels apocalyptic. Everything in the world seems chaotic.

Thinking about storms, I envisioned a small ship at sea during a tempest. I recalled the story of the disciples of Jesus crossing the Sea of Galilee when a massive storm suddenly arose. I imagined the small ship tossed by large waves and the helplessness and panic they must have felt. This year, while trying to swim in the ocean, my brother-in-law and I faced some rough waves. We were tossed around like rag dolls! The sea is incredibly powerful and vast; it’s breathtaking. One wave hit my brother-in-law so hard that he lost his hat and glasses and barely managed to hold on to his bathing suit! Lol! These waves were only a few feet high, and I can’t imagine being thrown about by waves as tall as an apartment building. I wanted to capture that feeling in my painting, though I’m not sure I succeeded.

Of course, the biblical story concludes with Jesus speaking to the storm and calming the sea with just a word. The world today needs a powerful voice to address the storms we face—just saying!

Along The Path

Along the Path is one of several paintings I managed to squeak off during my time in Florida. Most of my Florida paintings are usually tropical in subject, but this year was quite cold compared to other years. Of course, the winter in my neck of the woods was horrendous with over 25 feet of snow registered at the Bracebridge Airport! In honour of those suffering up north, I thought it only proper that I should dedicate one painting to their misery…while I suffer in Florida during one of the coldest years on record!

Old Mill

I’m trying my hand at an Andrew Wyeth style of painting. Of course, this is just a photo with a few of my magic tricks and viola!

Tropical Fish

Here is my latest tropical fish painting. It ended up in Deb’s newly decorated bathroom, matching her colors, of course. She asked, “Why does it look so sad?” I replied, “He’s a fish, so he’s probably angry!” lol
