2026-01-25; Thanks for being a friend

2026/01/25

This particular card was made using quite old supplies. The background is a large stamp by Stampin’ Up from 2015-2016. The wonderful friend sentiment was a thrift store find.

After I stamped the background I used an embossing folder to add texture.

2026-01-24; 3-d needle felting

2026/01/24

Last week I took an art class on needle felting. I was able to create a 3-d snowman. I also added a top hat and a little ducky friend.

In case you missed my first try at needle felting; here is a little blue bird in a nest.

2026-01-23; Zentangle Friday

2026/01/23

Happy Friday! 4 more zentangled envelopes for you this week. One of the below designs is a tangle that I just improvised instead of copying along with a tutorial. I’ve decided that I like a hint of color without going bold with it.

2026-01-22; Trying an AccuCut die cut machine

2026/01/22

Last week I started a new class series. This one is for trying out an AccuCut electronic die cutting machine. This particular machine is made specifically to cut shapes into fabric/material using steel rule dies. And it can do multiple layer cutting at a time.

Each class we take will be a different project. This month we die cut out all the pieces to make these miniature mittens. Each month will be a different project so we can continue to experiment with the dies and machine.

2026-01-20; purse shaped card CR300-256

2026/01/20

I took a plain A2 size card base, angled the edges, added a “handle” and it is now a purse shaped card. I didn’t think of adding a top flap to make it look more purse like until I was done. Maybe next time.

2026-01-19; You light up my life! CR302-258

2026/01/19

What do you do when there is a theme you don’t have a stamp for? Well, having been practicing zentangle I figured I could draw a light bulb, and I did!~ After drawing, coloring and fussy cutting I added the image to my stamped image. Speaking of zentangle, I also filled in the robot body with some zentangles.

2026-01-18; Drop Zone zippered bag

2026/01/18
tags:

This zippered tray is is a ByAnnie.com design called “Drop Zone.” The pattern and all of the material was donated to me by a sewing friend. The only thing I added to it was the zipper, soft & stable (structural foam pad) and a hardware piece so it can be clipped together with something else.

Right now I have the box open and all of my sewing tools are in it. When it’s time for a sewing play date I can just zip it up and take it with me.

This being my first try at the pattern, some things turned out a bit wonky. That clears up after having made a couple of them and you have figured out what you are doing. No worries though, this will be a working piece and won’t be given as a gift. That way I don’t have to explain away the wonkieness lol!

2026-01-13; Let it snow!

2026/01/13

It’s winter and baby it’s cold outside. I let that be the theme and besides, the sentiment was sent to me by a stamping friend who thinks 60* is cold. Sheesh.

2026-01-11; Mixed media basic’s class

2026/01/11

I have a monthly class called Mixed Media Basics. We take simple supplies and see what we can do with them. Last month we cut individual pieces of card stock using a template (Left Photo). When neatly stacked they create a dimensional collage of a whale swimming past seaweed.

Had I truly finished this piece I would have added 3-d mounting tape between the layers and added it to a frame. The finished size of the cut pieces is 5×7, a little big for card making applications.
