Happy New Year!

Goodbye 2025, Hello 2026.

It’s a new year everyone. You know what that means? Counting all my finishes, counting WIPs I have right now, and since I track it, hours stitched in the year.

So first of all, hours stitched in 2025….drumroll….. 340 hours. Yep, I did 340 hours of stitching in 2025. Not bad, I guess, when I don’t stitch every day. Sadly, though, I didn’t beat my yearly stitch amount from 2024. That year I did 369. When it was getting close to the end of the year my goal was to even get one hour more, but then Christmas really took a lot out of me and I just didn’t stitch much

Now for finishes.

2016 saw one finish, maybe two, but looking back at my records it shows only one.

2017 saw nine finishes.

2018 saw eight finishes.

2019 saw six finishes.

2020 got a big 12 finishes.

2021 saw two finishes.

2022 saw 12 finishes and then one UFO that I’m going to finish as is, so can you call that 13 then?

2023 saw five finishes.

2024 saw eight finishes and one UFO, that I still have to cut out stitching to throw out and save the rest of the fabric.

And 2025 saw seven finishes.

If you have read my blog before, you know that I then share pictures of the finishes, but I actually don’t have and can’t take pictures to show you all. So definitely the goal for this new year is to remember to take pictures of finished pieces before they are gifted. Then I can share with you all.

My other goal, which I had kind of made for myself in mid-year, was to get down to 10 WIPs. I also didn’t make it to that goal, but I do feel like I could get to ten WIPs not too far into the year.

Although I only stitched for a short amount of time since Flossmas ended, I’ll still show you.

I wanted to start the new year with a brief post. I think in my next post, I will show all my WIPs, as that involves taking them all out to get pictures.

Happy New Year everyone!

And happy stitching.

Flossmas December 25th

Happy Christmas everyone! And happy last day of Flossmas.

I really don’t have much to say to you all.

I went to work, got home, rested for like an hour, got ready, and then went to my husband’s family side.

It was nice visiting and the food was great.

Now I just got home and I’m so tired and exhausted I’m just going straight to bed.

Sorry for today’s short post.

Flossmas December 24th

Happy Christmas Eve everyone. Only one more day of Flossmas. I haven’t really said this yet but making these daily has been both kind of nice but also like hard cause I have to think of something to say and to show you or talk about. But only one more day so I think at this point I can make it.

After work we went over to my family for supper. Just my parents and my two siblings and their partners were at this supper. We had good food and nice visiting, but by like 7am I was tired and ready to get home.

When we got home after I changed and had just a little rest we decided we are going to be just as tired tomorrow and so why not open our gifts now.

Lucy loved her new toy.

And Midnight was so happy with her treats.

Well I think that is all I have to say for tonight. I’m off to bed.

See you all again here tomorrow for our last day of Flossmas.

Flossmas December 23rd

Only two more more days left of Flossmas.

Today I had the day off, so I filled it with stitching, a little bit of resting, and finishing training.

So first I had online training for Food Safe. I’ve completed and passed with 90%, so I’m super happy to have that done.

This is a Yule Goat:

My husband found someone who makes them and ordered them. It didn’t come in time for Yule but we will keep it for next Yule. The tradition with the Yule Goat is that it would be made of straw and on Yule you will burn it.

Next I worked on this piece a little bit:

I think I needed a break from it so I picked up Victoria Charm.

This is where I was when I last worked on it:

Didn’t get too much work into it till it was late and I needed to get ready for bed.

Well, that’s it from me. See you all tomorrow.

Flossmas December 22nd

Today is a very cold and snowy day.

Once I was home from work, I shovelled off the deck(the snow had stopped by the time I was off work) and then spent the next few hours trying to warm myself up. I was just cold and, for a while, couldn’t get warm.

The only other things I did were clean up and cook supper for my husband and me (by luck, it was just finished when he walked through the door). And then I did some stitching. Again really not a lot.

Well even though it’s not too late I’m quite tired so I’m off to bed, even though I guess I could stay up and stitch some more. Don’t think I will though.

Happy stitching and happy Flossmas to everyone.

Flossmas December 21st

Happy Yule or Winter Solstice everyone!

I got my husband a Yule gift.

It was a Lego poinsettia. And we built it together. It was a lot of fun.

Later on I decided to make some cookies from a cookie mix my mom made me. Monster cookies they are called. We tried some and they are okay but not my favourite and I probably wouldn’t make them again.

And then since it is the solstice we light our Yule log just as the sun went down, which for us was a bit after five.

Stitching I didn’t really do, but I did go and finish my little rodin.

My hand stitching is not the greatest but it is just going on the tree and no one will really see it also I wasn’t going to rip it out just to see if I could make it more perfect.

I did red fabric for the back.

Really today was just about kind of relaxing and also just being able to hang out with my husband. It was just very nice. So glad I had gotten the day off of work.

Hope all of you Pagans had a good Yule celebration and to everyone else happy first day of winter.

Flossmas December 20th

Happy First Day of Yule

Wrapped all my gifts.

And yes, there is a yule gift for my husband and there is a clothing gift to keep the Yule Cat away tonight.

If you didn’t know my husband and I do a lot of pagan traditions. Tonight is the first night of Yule known as Modraniht or called Mother’s Night. It is a time to honor your female ancestors.

Then I did some stitching.

Yes! I finished it. Now tomorrow is the plan to fully make it into a Christmas ornament.

See you all tomorrow.

Flossmas December 19th

Hey everyone.

So I realized yesterday wasn’t that great of a post. I was very tired and just felt kind of run down by the end of the day so that’s why it was so short.

Anyway morning was a bit better, got lots of sleep and my husband was also feeling ‘ugh’ so he actually phoned in to work. If you know my husband he never does that. He slept till I believe passed noon. I had a hot bath and relaxed and then tackled some shoveling. Ended up only our deck and steps, there was just a lot of snow.

Got a cute picture of our kitty cat, Midnight in the dresser drawer.

When we went shopping yesterday I also picked up my gift for my sister.

I think it turned out great. I just love it and I hope my sister likes it too.

I also got a tree skirt since we threw an old one out last year as the cat had thrown up on it twice and it wasn’t one you could wash.

And yes I did get some stitching in. Not a lot but a little.

Well that’s it for today. Still can’t believe it’s 6 days till Christmas.

Flossmas December 18th

No stitching today. I was going to try, but after my nice, relaxing hot bath after work, I just wanted to lie in bed.

Only did that for a few minutes though, then my husband was ready so that we went to the store for me to get the last Christmas presents. Everything is done but two small things needed for the gift to my brother and his girlfriend. One of them will be bought on Amazon as I couldn’t find one in any of the stores.

Going to just be a short little post with no stitching.

Happy stitching and happy Flossmas everyone.

Flossmas December 17th

Today is a very Saskatchewan winter. The early morning started out fine, a little cold and very windy. By 10am, the wind really picked up, and the snow hasn’t stopped since.

Yep, all day snow storm. Big weather warning for dangerous conditions.

Work actually was fine and I was more grateful by the end of the day when my husband texted he was leaving work to come pick me up. Really wasn’t sure before he had texted how long it would have even taken me to get home.

Made hot chocolate for the two of us when I got home and have been staying warm and relaxing. I did a little stitching tonight. It looks like not much but it seemed like a lot of stitches when I was stitching.

My husband is doing work on his computer, some house designing layout that he is trying to get completed and is taking a little longer cause he updated the software site. So we decided to order pizza since I really don’t feel like cooking at all. If you’ve been with this blog long enough you know I just hate cooking and most of the time don’t want to do that. So, since we ordered I knew I had to go shovel a bit so at least the guy could get to our door step. It’s only like a few feet and two steps but with all the snow all that took over 20 minutes.

Well pizza isn’t here yet, but I’m going to go. Talk to you all tomorrow. Hope the weather where you all are is far nicer.

Happy stitching and happy Flossmas.
