Now, it’s time to blog about the awesomeness of this concert!!! x3 Finally I get to post this up though. I was capped so I was unable to watch videos as fast as I wanted to. So I had to wait until my internet speed was decent enough to watch every performance in this concert T_T Moving along, this concert HAS to be my favorite so far. Sure I have a few favorite concert performances from other concerts but overall as a whole concert, Platinum 9 DISCO has to be the BEST one for me :D. This concert showcases the pure ENERGY the current lineup of Morning Musume have and the connection they have with the audience. It shows that girls want to make it known that, concerts are not ALL about the girls – but the audience as well and how much their participation means to them.
Other than that, the lighting and background effects of the concert was spectacular, noticing that the management has put more effort to make Morning Musume concerts more enjoyable (and EPIC!!!!). Now I wonder what the next Hello! Project concert is gonna be like 😛 Hopefully, the effects are gonna be just as awesome. So here’s my review on Morning Musume’s Platinum 9 DISCO 2009 Concert Spring Tour 🙂
#1. Opening & SONGS:
I loved the light show in the beginning, especially the effect with the rainbow stairs. The music in the beginning got excitement building up with me (also the wota chants as well xD). I noticed that the music had a mix of the “yo, yo, yo” from Take Off Is Now I think, but anyways “SONGS” entered nicely :D. Now if you didn’t know (most likely you don’t know) I LOVE THIS SONG! But this performance was way beyond my expectations. I was getting giddy at the fact when I heard Momusu was gonna be wearing marching band outfits and I was anticipating this concert performance like heck. And yes they did wear marching band outfits 😀 With the little hats, but the skirts were like puffy as XD But that did not stop the dancing 🙂 Especially at the beginning and let me tell you – the opening is EPIC. The lights shone on each girl as they executed their poses in the beginning got me excited. The choreography did not have much impact than I thought it would be but it was still cool. Junjun & Linlin nailed their solos, but too bad in this DVD Linlin didn’t have much of a vibrato in the “Mada, mada” but her voice was still cool :D:D:D.The little move that did at the end when they’re tilting their heads to the beat kinda reminded me of MJ’s “Thriller” xD
Risa’s little smile at 4:18 was cute. 🙂 Aichan kinda looked scary at the end xD But her high kick earlier on in the video was amazing that it lasted for like a millisecond. Too quick to make a GIF from the video xD
#2. Naichau Kamo:
VERY nice solo by Kamei in the middle there. Probably replayed it like 5 times in a row. Probably the best performance they did on this song. Aw dang no Risa solo 😦
VTR:
I like girls with flowers 🙂 In other less freaky words, this was a cool VTR xD I heard it was just like a revamped VTR from the AX concert VTR.
#3. Mikan:
Crooooooooooowd killer! It’s time for the hearbreak songs to move over and for super energetic to come in. I liked the drum beat in the beginning to it, that would be cool if it was in the original opening, but that would turn it into a more of a hip hop sound than a bright and shiny, idol-y sound xD. YOU GET A CHANCE! This was excellent despite the many times this has been in other concerts, but that’s because it’s awesome :P. The wota chants are fun xD.
MC #1:
The whole of Momusu is here to greet the crowd!…In their very good looking costumes xD I like those 🙂 Anyways I will try my best to say what’s happening, but it’s mostly guesses, so don’t rely on everything I say here xD Risa greets Tokyo and Ai mentions that it’s the final concert for the tour. Ah, no wonder it’s so good XD Woo! I can just barely hear the shouts of fangirls ~! It goes onto Eri, then Sayu – trying to pump up the crowd then yeah! Onto the next song Lol. Not much of a translation.
#4. Shouganai Yume Oibito:
The girls are really performing their songs so good so far. The biting of the fingers still scare me a bit though haha.
#5. Jounetsu no Kiss o Hitotsu (Takahashi Ai, Niigaki Risa, Tanaka Reina): Now we’re getting to the good parts. Alright, so you’ve got three girls. And a chair. Wow LOL.
The opening sounds like I’m in this French cafe or something. Anyways I thought there was gonne three chairs for the three girls, but when I found it was only one. My mind went blank *curse you naughty thoughts* But anyways this performance was HOT! Ai did an amazing job at the end, I applaud her seriously. This is probably the first time I’ve heard Aichan do something like this so I couldn’t wait to see how she sings it live – and it was fantastic. I also love this song because of the Gakisan lines, nice and slow just for her 😀 Really suitable for her singing style. Reina being Reina, she did a good job haha.
#6. Kataomoi no Owari ni (Kamei Eri): Eri…YOU’RE SO SWEET T__T waah. I swear even though I only know a little bit on what the song is about *and sad at that* but this concert just got me in the heart. When she draws “be” from maybe and blows it away, I felt like tearing up. I love her purty dress 🙂 But it kinda reminds me of one of the dresses they wore to Korea (or was in Taiwan?) Wait no, yeah it was Taiwan LOL My bad. But Eri really does look like your girl-next-door. It feels like any moment now she’ll come over to bring over an apple pie 🙂 Sweetness was 110% in this concert!.
MC #2 (Tanaka Reina):
Ah, this is the one where Reina smartly sent Eri a Happy Birthday message at 12:23 am when she realised it’s past 12 instead of her usual send the mail right on the dot @ 12. Pretty interesting. *Btw, Eri’s birthday is on the 23rd of December therefore 12/23 :P*
#7. Fine Emotion (JunJun & Linlin):
I really, really liked this performance. Man those “anata’s” are gonna be in my head tonight. LOL. I definitely recommend you to watch this. They’re energy in this performance is just right. MOOORE HACHIKKIS PLEASE!
#8. Watashi no Miryoku ni Kizukanai Donkan na Hito (Mitsui Aika): Whew, that title is harder to memorise than Ame no Furanai Hoshi Dewa Aisenai Darou *yeah baby! nailed it* So I literally had to copy and paste it out of a website which had the setlist on it xD. *Presses play* WHOAH that’s a huge bow. Other than that, GO AIKA MITSUI!!!! I don’t know why, but the wotas LOVE this. So much energy feeling the room. I’ve seen them do that wota move *I don’t know what it’s called though, I have much more to learn as a newbie wota* in a AX videos xD And they do it like crazy. But it’s a very Idol-ish song. Her voice may not be as powerful compared to Aichan, but she can keep her voice strong and steady & consistent 😀 Kyaa ~! Mittsi is just so cute!
#9. Yowamushi (Niigaki Risa): RISA!!! No matter what she sings, I will always still love her 🙂 I love this song, but it sorta felt empty without Sayumi doing the repetition of Gakisan’s lines near the end, but no matter. Me likey Gakisan’s dramatic…ness. *darn my low vocab* I like her dress here ~ I just can’t help but sing along XD.
#10. It’s You (Sayumi Michishige): If you are VERY prone to nosebleeds, I suggest you get a very large box of tissues when watching this concert. Whoever decided that Aichan & Eri should be the dance backup for this concert performance is GENIUS! It’s a Miss. Thunderthighs and High Kick Power collaboration :D:D:D And wow, it’s not sexy Bunny, but sexy Minnie XD *Sayu’s wearing Minnie mouse ears here* The pink light and Sayu’s silhouette works lovely 🙂
Though before that moment when Ai & Eri stop dancing, it looks they hurt their backs when they do that move, but don’t worry they didn’t, it’s just a dance move haha.
Overall, this performance IMO, made it looked like that Sayu was the boss and Aichan & Eri were her sexy minions 😛
MC #3 (Reina Tanaka [Koharu Kusumi?] & JunJun):
I heard that Koharu was originally supposed to be in this MC and that Reina had to replace Koharu for some reason. Either Koharu surprisingly ran out of her never-ending hyper fuel, or it’s because the staff decided that Koharu & JunJun are gonna take up too much time again quarreling with each other xD. But anyways, I’ll leave this to more fluent translators, cause I have no fudge at all on what they’re talking about LOL.

Now I gotta say, this is one of my favourite things throughout the whole of this concert. I LOVE medleys especially songs that I really like are put together in one go. And these bunch of songs are no disappointment at all 😀

#13. SEXY BOY ~Soyokaze ni Yorisotte~ & #14. THE Manpower!!!:
This is where it gets jazzy and funky. Go Aichan and her “Fall in Love” Then after that it turns back to normal into the hyper “Sekushii Ue~ Ue~”. Then this is where SEXY BOY and THE Manpower!!! get remixed together. Which equals awesome! Go TakaGaki PAWAA!!! But Aichan still has that killing growl when she sings “Subarashii~” which kinda scares the hell outta me LOL.
#15. Aozora ga Itsumade mo Tsuzuku You na Mirai de Are!: Then all slows down and the piano starts playing. Oh, and I changed my mind, this title is even MORE harder to memorise haha. *If you can type this whole title out without looking – I praise you as a Momusu fan LOL* I’ll just say this – I TOTALLY LOVE LINLIN!!! I’ve always liked her, cause I knew that she has an amazing voice, just she’s not really able to show it off. But now that’s all changed and I love her even more! The performance in the DVD wasn’t her best solo *and I’ve heard others*, but it was still amazing. But I don’t blame her, seriously after singing about 4 songs in a row then having to have to sing a solo by yourself? But despite that, Linlin hit the bullseye. Now all of you get down on the floor and bow to Linlin! xD Ah but darn it some loud-talking wotas kinda ruined it for me. They would be talking REALLY loud to be picked up by the mic. Anyhoo, then it turns back to the original song into the mega genki Musume! Perfect end to a fabulous medley executed wonderfully by Morning Musume!

MC #4 (Kamei Eri, Michishige Sayumi, Linlin): Why no Reina? Because she already had two MC’s earlier on xD And besides, LinLin is fun 😀
#16. Kousui (Kusumi Koharu, Junjun):
Wow shiz, no smiley, hyper, Kirari Koharu XD sometimes it can be good, but luckily she didn’t use that here. Not bad from these two ~ Junjun sounded a teeeeeeeny weensy bit like Risako near the end xD
#17. The Bigaku (Tanaka Reina):
If I ever step into a Japanese Karaoke bar/place – this song would be my specialty. I used to be a crazy Ayaya fan, and this happened to be my fav Ayaya song. Seems it’s the same for Reina as well who finally got her wish to sing this song solo 😛 So, did she nail it off? I can proudly say she did! But nooo! No crazy screams like Ayaya used to do XD That used to be one of the fav parts of the song. But as for everything else, it was nostalgic and she performed it well 🙂 Found myself singing and dancing along with it! *thumbs up*
MC GAKI (Niigaki Risa): YAY!!! MC GAKI! Now when on earth was the last time I’ve heard that name 😛 No mail in the final MC, but what’s interesting – she shows off her beautiful nails 😀 Yay!!!
#18. Yume Kara Samete (Takahashi Ai): I used to cry (well get a bit teary actually, everytime I heard this song, so I wondered if this was gonna make me bawl hearing it live. LOL. So I actually tried to prepare myself before watching “I’m not gonna cry, I’m not gonna cry” then pressed play. Lovely was…LOVELY! Her white dress made her looked elegant. She put feeling into her song without getting teary. She managed not to cry this time round. And so did I. There was a point in the song where I was about to, but that was because it looked like Ai was gonna cry – but she didn’t so I felt relieved LOL.
#19. Take Off Is Now! ( Takahashi Ai, Niigaki Risa, Tanaka Reina): OK! Here we go it’s the ladies again YEAH!!!!!!!! I’m lovin’ this song. But I always wondered what it would be like if they added Kame-chan in this? I mean if you want sexy, then you might wanna add Thunderthighs haha 😀 But ANYWAYS! Yeah this performance was great! The costumes were well suited and perfect, and you got sexiness oozing out from all three girls. I thought Risa was gonna break into a breakdance in the beginning XD. Aichan’s smile at 4:41 was so cute haha.
#20. Guru Guru JUMP (Kusumi Koharu, Linlin, Junjun): Now it’s the OTHER trio – the hyperactive trio! It seems to me that every time they perform this, the more energetic it gets. Which is lovely! 🙂 But the outfits…um whoah, a total opposite from the Take Off Is Now girls. LOL But I actually think it’s not that bad. They’re funny, but it’s a good funny because it’s so different from the previous act haha. I think I’m probably gonna be dreaming about colourful things tonight…But I swear I looooooooooooooooove this concert performance so much! This is the definition of FUN!
#21: HOW DO YOU LIKE THIS JAPAN? ~Nihon wa Donna Kanji Dekka?~: YES! FINALLY! I get to see this again live!!! I love this song when it’s performed live.
I. SERIOUSLY. LOVED. EVERYTHING about this performance. Sayumi’s tongue rolls, Koharu sounded perfect, Linlin OWNED that solo of hers with her voice and especially RISA! It seems she kinda flubbered her way in saying “CLAP YOUR HANDS!” in the beginning though. But still genki as! Aichan sounded like she was gonna kill someone but that’s how we like her – fierce :P.

#22. Resonant Blue:
Koharu sounded alright, which was good. But I can tell this song takes a lot of energy when you’re performing it. But Momusu did a cool job on it. I wish Reina would sound like how she did her “Oh whoah-oh’s” on the single though. Sounds more cooler. But yeah I don’t mind how she does it now though. But dang that part in the video where Aichan touched Koharu’s chin was unexpect, but sexy.

#23. LOVE & PEACE! Hero ga Yattekita: This performance from this concert has made me love this song even more 😀 I never really noticed this song, but this has made me go on Youtube and look for performances of this song in previous concerts. As always, there’s always interesting reaction between the girls during this song. *As you remember my earlier post/review on the video about Ai & Sayu *ahem** And the audience go hypo on this too. I mean, who wouldn’t go hypo on this song? I was totally jumping in my seat and doing chants along with the performance *not out loud though* Never realised the the brave Junjun kissing Ai unexpectedly? on the cheek at 0:48 until someone pointed it out which I found extremely cute xD.Then Ai made a face which kinda looked like her eyes were gonna bulge out LOL.
Ai still doesn’t approve of girls kissing her LOL.

#24. Sono Bamen ni Bibiccha Ikenai Jan!: Looks like they were prepared to give an encore. Yay! Another fun song! Actually before, this song never really appealed to me – until I saw Momusu sing this in Resonant Live and I have loved listening to it in concerts ever since. OMG a SayuAika kiss! xD It was kinda random though, all you see is Sayumi lean towards the left then Aika’s head suddenly comes in xD. But man, Koharu’s hat is WHOPPIN’ huge LOL. But if it was Aichan wearing it, it would fall over her eyes Lol.
Final MC:
Now this is an long ass encore, goes for 7 minutes.
#25. Ame no Furanai Hoshi de wa Aisenai Darou?:
Final nummber ~ Cute performance, I can totally hear the wotas sing along, but it’s nice to sing along especially when your favourite idols are singing it 😀 JunLin owned their Chinese solos in the song – the part which I look forward to in the song. The ending was so funny. Risa patting Linlin on the head and Koharu and Eri doing this move similar to Robo Kiss. Eri was like “What the heck?” at first, then she started doing it as well haha.

Now for a rating out of 10. I’d totally rate this concert 100/10 for the sake of it, seriously this concert had a nice mix of fun & energetic songs along with the serious, heart-breaking songs. So it was a nice balance of having fun and relaxing. The effects were totally awesome and I wish I could see the effects on the background more somehow, because they were totally cool. Loved the light shows, loved the girls, loved the performances – LOVED EVERYTHING! ❤
