The Best is Yet to Come

The challenge this week at Simon Says Stamp is Anything Goes. Keeping with my previous card, I have one more graduation card to share. Love, love the Cornered Graduation die from PaperTrey Ink and The Greetery Dreams & Plans year die. I also added a few other dies from these two companies, I really appreciate how quickly a card comes together using just dies and a few stamps!

Yay You!

We had a busy graduation year with lots of graduation cards made. In my haste to get the cards sent out, I failed to photograph most of them. For me one of the joys in making greeting cards is the ability to make the card personal to the recipients, like using school colors and interests of the graduate. The die cuts are from Concord & 9th – Along the Path.

Hoppy Easter

I hope you all had a wonder Easter and got your fill of Peeps, jelly beans and chocolate eggs!

It’s a patterned paper challenge this week at Simon Says Stamp showcasing Doodlebug products. I love using patterned paper so this was an easy challenge this week for me. For my papers, I’m using Nitwit Collection Spring Gnome Collection. The difficult part was deciding which diecuts to feature. Since it was Easter week, I opted to use Elizabeth Crafts Designs, Bunny.

Once I figured out how to put these adorable critters together the remaining cards were a breeze to make. Let me know, do you prefer the ones with clothes or the ones without clothes?

You Are Gorgeous

For my grand-daughter’s 13th birthday, I wanted to make her a special card. She is funny, fiercely loyal to her friends, plays hockey and loves makeup. After seeing Spellbinders new Gorgeous line, I knew I had to order a few of the dies and make her birthday card with them. For her card I used the Makeup Bag and the Gorgeous You Makeup dies. I have to admit, I had a lot of making putting the various makeup pieces together. A gift card to Ulta completed the card…I’m sure she’s going to love spending some time picking out a few fun items!

This week’s challenge at Simon Says Stamp is Anything Goes and is showcasing Waffle Flower. I used the Snowfall Background stencil from Waffle Flower for the background of the card.

Fun with Stencils

Simon Says Stamp is featuring Pink Fresh Studio for this week’s stencil challenge. I pulled out a grid stencil and used a rainbow of colors to ink up the background. I hot foiled the image using Pink Fresh Studio’s Playful Petals press plate – these plates foil beautifully! I cut out the three flowers using the included die from the set and colored them with copic markers. I couldn’t get a good image of it but I stack the flowers with 3 layers of cardstock to give the flowers a bit of dimension, the sentiment is included on the press plate with an additional sentiment. From my stash, I pulled a Pink Fresh Studio washi tape Fluttering Butterfly. I also added a few Pink Fresh Studio Clear Gold gem accents to complete the card.

I have a bonus card to share with you…

Really simple to do…I foiled colored cardstock, cut it out with Pink Fresh Studio’s Octagon Blanket Stitch die and added a sentiment from Pink Fresh Studio’s Basic Banners Celebrate stamp set.

Nothing that is Loved is ever Lost

The challenge this week at Simon Says Stamp is Anything Goes sponsored by Spellbinders. Whenever possible, I try to use the sponsor of the challenge as inspiration for my designs. Unfortunately, my inventory of sympathy cards is quite low so I thought I’d use the Small Die of the Month for January – Soaring Dragonfly from Spellbinders on a couple of cards. I find it a bit challenging making a more masculine/neutral type sympathy card and I think these can be given to anyone who has lost a loved one.

I started out stamping on black cardstock with Concord & 9th’s Lace Leaf stamp and embossing it with either clear or gold embossing powder. I made the background panels by adding a simple black and white striped paper and adding a thin washi tape to where the two panels meet.

The sentiments are from Pinkfresh Studio’s With Sympathy stamp and die set.

To add a bit of color to one of the cards, I added Whirl Bay Leaves die from SSS.

Coffee Time

We started out the day today with bitterly cold temperatures, I saw -24 degrees at one point and that is without windchill…burrrrr! With that said, it is a day to stay indoors and spend some time crafting.

I decided to play along with Simon Says Stamp’s Challenge this week of Clean and Simple. For me, these are about as simple of a card as I can make. It’s really hard for me to have a lot of white space.

I opted to use a stamp and die set from SSS, Coffee Time as a jumping off point for my cards. I added coffee and latte sentiment dies from Honey Bee Stamps.

Thanks for stopping by…stay warm!
