Setelah 1 tahun berselang, Software Freedom Day, yang disponsori oleh OSUM Universitas Indonesia, kembali hadir dengan tema yang menarik, yakni “Back to School, Back to Open Source”.

Acara ini dimeriahkan di seluruh dunia pada tanggal 10 September 2009. Namun karena bertepatan dengan lebaran, maka di Indonesia, acara Software Freedom Day ini akan dilaksanakan tanggal 16 Oktober 2009 di lebih dari 30 universitas di Indonesia.

Di Universitas Indonesia sendiri, acara ini akan berlangsung di Ruang 3113 Gedung C Fasilkom UI hari Jumat 16 Oktober 2009 mulai dari jam 13.30.

Acara ini akan diisi oleh beberapa susunan acara yang menarik, yakni:

We know that God will give the entire best thing to his creatures. The problem is the best according to God not always be the best to us. It always happens in human’s life. We can make a list of our hope, going to bed, and then dreaming of it. But if God think that our dream won’t change us become a better person, He will take a different way. Usually we don’t like those some different way.

In one day of Calculus class, Mrs. Kasiyah, my Calculus lecturer, told me about dream and the realization. She said that if our dream can be realized 100%, our life will become predictable. There won’t be surprises because we have known what will happen tomorrow.

Sometimes I didn’t believe God’s way. Like when I decided to take Limas Scholarship, I didn’t pass its test. Moreover, it was the first test! What a terrible… Until know I don’t know what happened with my score, but one thing that I know is God has give His best way to me. It is because Limas doesn’t permit their accepted student to take master degree or work in foreign.

The other example goes to my dearest friend. He was frustrated when didn’t pass the SPMB exam. It was almost 3 years ago, and if you see him now, he has become a young entrepreneur in telco industry, with an estimated five million income a month.

Later I know that God loves all of us. For those who didn’t satisfy with what God decided, let’s start pray to the god, and think, what will happen if God realize your dream. Will you become a better person? If so, I think you are a very very better person now 🙂

If only you knew how much your absence has affected me, you’d never have tossed me aside as you have. I no longer have that safe place to go to, that special place that was you, safe and secure, and so full of love. I have never experienced such pain, the pain of knowing I’ll never get to see or hear from you again in a loving capacity.

To have given me so much, made so many promises, telling me that I could put all my trust in you and that you’d never let me down only to cut me out of your life in such a manner was not only cruel, but you decided my fate. By coming into my life, giving me something wonderful and making me believe in you, only to take it all away has sentenced me to a life of emptiness. I can never trust anyone with my emotions again, I’ll never know what it’s like to be intimate with someone again, to kiss them, see them smile in the mornings, to know that they were my special place. You had all of me.

I’m afraid you walked forward with your life, leaving me behind with nothing but memories, my body remembering your touch, my nose – your scent, my eyes – your smile, and my ears, the sound of you saying my name. Even when I look at my own hands I see yours. Every touch, every action of yours nothing but a betrayal. This pain is mine; there isn’t anything you can do for me now.

What is it I want now? I want for you to stay here and always be happy because of me. That is what I ultimately want for you … happiness, and I truly hope you find it, honey.

Talking about relationship, we must agree that all relationships would be faced obstacles. If we talk a simple relationship between a clever student and a good teacher, they must be faced a new problem at least in one class session which the student doesn’t agree with teacher’s opinion. If a clever student has a problem with his teacher, how would be an ordinary student like me who always feel getting a new problem when exam week starts. Hiks..

Here we talk about a specific relationship between me and my girlfriend. I think this relationship has became the most interesting one in our life, because of there are so many differences between us, and I’m sure that your guess must be wrong, that we have been already running our 19 months.

I can’t mention one by one about the differences between us. But I can guarantee that we have more than you guys 🙂 Now I want to share about how to manage a special relationship. Why I need to add the word ‘special’ here that to make sure that you want to give all efforts that you have to make that relationship still exist until you die 🙂

The one and the only one way that I’ve done until know was using some beautiful memories that we’re already had. These memories must be come in whenever we’re not in a good position, which take us into a very deeply uncomfortable life.

Although using some beautiful memories has brought me into a silly man, this would help much as you can control your emotion when you were angry, or you can just give a smiley into your girlfriend/boyfriend.

For those who don’t have beautiful memories…Just make some funny activities when you are in a good position, then keep in into a beautiful memory.

I want to sing love songs to you

I want to die loving you.

A few months later, god send me a luck when I hired by PPSI UI as a part time smart card programmer. Oh, I don’t know what I must said to Adin as the person who give the idea that PPSI must hired an undergraduate student to smart card team. Firstly, I feel that I’m the one who is ‘paling cupu’ (Cupu banget deh :P). I didn’t know how to use SVN as one of main part of building a large system. I didn’t know how to made an extraction of fingerprint, how to write and read a smart card, and so many other thing. I learn a lot of think there with Jan Peter (JP), and with my previous one (hopefully :P), Fajran (Iang).

Then when Adin feels that I’m not ‘cupu’ again, I was given the responsibility of made Biometric System for Graduate Students Registration. After that system has gain a very good respond, then I was given second responsibility of made Biometric System for UI Staff. It uses a method that called Fingerprint Verification. One person who has registered as UI Staff doesn’t have availability to register again as another staff, despite of using different name.

This system will be implemented to student soon, so student just have chance to register to one faculty. It means that there won’t be another me in this campus (you should know what I mean :D). Now I am doing a system in UI Parking which will be implemented in Gerbatama. But because this system is in development, I can’t tell too many here.

And my luck still doesn’t end until there. One month after I deploy the Biometric System, Bu Betty and Pak Adhi recognize a potential partnership with a company. If you have heard Oberthure, this is their battle 😀

I knew this company since I entered my high school. It was really a good company where many persons with good capability of RFID smart card, chip, and computer security skills have made many improvements there. If you have heard about Retina Eye, a company which has made well-known security software, firstly I think that they were in a same business area. But when I heard that there were 8 bachelors from Informatics ITB who joined this company, I open their website, and found that their core business is in smart card area.

Again, luck is still being mine. The partnership was continued, until now..

Now is 7.40 o’clock, and I am in Sentra Mulia Building, which placed in front of the Pasar Festival. This is 15th floor, so I can see so many building in Kuningan here. Ngapain sih gw disini? I’m here to attend a MCPOS (Smart Card Application) Certificate Training. I have never expected that I will here with so many smart ‘smart card’ developers. I see many sophisticated technology here. I remember the first time I come to PPSI room, I feel that ‘gw belom ada apa-apanya ternyata’. Here, I feel that feeling again. But bigger 🙂

Junior Smart Card Programmer who has successfully made a Biometric System for University System.

This semester was one of the hardest terms of my study. I took 25 credits this semester. For those who are not a geeky human, or maybe just doesn’t want to know, please skip this part 🙂

The courses are: (I don’t mention from the hardest one, lho 😛 Just Alphabetic)
Advanced Programming, Algorithm Design and Analysis, Computer Network, Database, Differential Equation, General Game Playing, and Probability.

I feel that all courses I’ve taken were technical one. Why I said so? If I arrange it into a building block, I guarantee that I can make a fulfill system. I can design a good algorithm from the Algorithm Design and Analysis Course that I take. Maybe it will implement a very well-known algorithm like Dynamic Programming, or Huffman Encoding. If I want to take a little risk, I can design a new algorithm, but never successfully proved as a correct algorithm 🙂

I can design a very well network side and component with Advanced Programming and Computer Network courses. And for sure it has a good design and the best data structure.

Wait, I never mention: Differential Equation, General Game Playing, and Probability. The last 3 from the alphabet 😛

Do you know where Balai Kartini was? If you don’t know, first I will tell you that as my life, I go to Balai Kartini just for attend the wedding party. I have never drove myself because I always accompanied by my parents when go to that place. So, if you ask this question to me a few weeks ago, I will have the same answer with you. It is because of my bad habit which always sleep in the car, when I was not drive the car myself. So sad.

When I must work as UI Stand Guide at UI Expo, it was the first time when I go to that very beautiful building alone. That was the first time when I go to there by drove myself, exactly. Someone tells me that Balai Kartini placed in the middle of Plaza Semanggi and Kuningan. My mind told that the bulding is near from Planet Hollywood. That was pure 100% my prediction.

At that day, the first day when I visit Balai Kartini alone :), I felt little confused when arrived at Perempatan Kuningan, I decided to take left way. As my prediction before, that Balai Kartini was placed in the middle of Plaza Semanggi and Kuningan. I drove my car slowly, because of the traffic jam. Just a few second after I decided to take left, I saw to the right, there was a building named..Balai Kartini! OMG..

And I must have my turn at Semanggi…

As my life changing too fast, and I can’t remember its second by second, minute by minute, and day by day, I write the diary of a not ordinary life. Yeah, hope it would always be updated 🙂
