Recycled, Sold, Gifted in 2026
Posted: January 11, 2026 Filed under: Accessories, Clothing, Home and Garden | Tags: clear out, dievca, eBay, Life, NYC, recycling, selling, small apartment 2 Commentsdievca recycled 5 vibrators and other toy items, 12 pair of Patagonia Underwear @ the Patagonia store, and a number of cotton and wool items including a small wool rug @ Trashie.
The great Holiday Tinsel Headband was given to a friend who admired it and was going to a party. she needed it more than dievca did 😘 Add the riddance of annoying feathers from two decorative pillows (not down – pokey feathers). They went into the composting bin. Apparently feathers are good for composting – something about nitrogen.
dievca’s eBay store was “hopping” over Christmas break, 18 items sold – it was something dievca could handle while she was sick. The photos above include the sold pieces that have been seen on the blog.
Is anyone else having a clear out?

Thought for the day: Change
Posted: January 7, 2026 Filed under: Analysis | Tags: change, dievca, growth, intelligence, Life, mental health, moving forward, positive mental attitude Leave a comment
Change is inherently uncomfortable because our brains prefer the familiar and safe, triggering anxiety and resistance when routines are disrupted. Discomfort is a necessary signal for growth, leading to new potential and transformation as we learn to navigate the temporary instability. Embracing this feeling, rather than fleeing it, helps us move past old patterns and build new, healthier ones, turning the unfamiliar into the new normal.
Why does change feels uncomfortable?
- Fear of the Unknown: Our subconscious associates the unfamiliar with danger, making us seek predictability.
- Disruption of Routine: New situations challenge our established ways of being, causing stress and uncertainty.
- Loss of Control: Change can feel overwhelming and leave us feeling unprepared or off-balance.
- Growth Pains: Just like physical growth, personal growth involves temporary discomfort as we adapt.
How to cope with the discomfort
- Acknowledge the feeling: Recognize that the discomfort is normal and a sign of progress, not failure.
- Focus on the short-term: Break down big changes into manageable steps to feel more in control.
- Maintain routines: Stick to healthy habits like exercise, healthy eating, or meditation to create stability.
- Stay present: Practice mindfulness to avoid getting lost in worries about the future or regrets about the past.
- Reframe your thoughts: Focus on the potential benefits and what you can learn, rather than just the difficulties.
- Seek support: Talk to friends, family, or a professional to help navigate the transition.
The upside of discomfort
- Personal Growth: Stepping outside your comfort zone is where real transformation and reaching your potential happen.
- Breaking Free: It allows you to move away from stagnant or unfulfilling patterns.
- New Opportunities: Discomfort is a gateway to new experiences and a stronger, more resilient self.
Simple and Clean with AllSaints Ryder Jacket

With a silhouette that feels both timeless yet directional (a stand collar! a gathered waist! voluminous sleeves!) the funnel-neck jacket is an undeniably appealing solution for transitional dressing. Rendered for the season in a variety of materials—luxe leathers, warm wool, and weather-resistant technical fabrications—these high-collared coats possess a sense of poise, not to mention, practicality, that acts as soft armor when bracing for biting winds and surprise sprinklings.
Labels such as Victoria Beckham, Stella McCartney, Chloé, Khaite, and Gabriela Hearst included a strong mix of funnel-neck jackets in their fall/winter 2025 collections, and the silhouette continues to hold strong for spring/summer 2026, proving the trend has staying power for the foreseeable future. For spring 2026, Altuzarra showed an oversized leather silhouette with balloon pants (another trend to take note of!), while Khaite presented an buttery-soft leather and shearling take in an earthy olive with a coordinating leather maxi skirt. Tibi gave us a high-collared trench coat for spring, whereas Ashlyn fashioned one in stop sign red (also styled with genie pants, mind you). During Phoebe Philo’s tenure at Celine, the funnel neck appeared throughout numerous collections, and since the launch of her namesake label in 2023, it’s been a mainstay in her lineup. FROM VOGUE

Practicalities – recycling vibrators in the New Year

In 2025, dievca casually mentioned that she and Master were testing all of their vibrators and toys to see which ones were of interest or a disaster. There were clear winners and some losers. Some winners needed a solid charging from being in storage or new batteries, Currently, dievca has vibrators plugged in all over her apartment. she’s determining which of the good vibrators still hold charge.
Master just laughed when dievca told him what she was doing on Jan. 2nd of the new year. Look, she wants/needs to recycle the losers and the ones that don’t a hold charge – small NYC apartment.
It’ll be fun in a couple of hours when she does some testing. XO

Master just laughed. he has his own IT issues currently. dievca’s hardware issues were semi-solved after an Amazon overnight delivery. her Bio-ware issues are just starting to heal now – 20+ days of flu/sinus/ear infections + plowing through end-of-the-year work. Master is on the West Coast and dievca is healing at home until Saturday. Made for a disastrous Holiday Season.

Gillian Clarke
The dreamed Christmas,
flakes shaken out of silences so far
and starry we can’t sleep for listening
for papery rustles out there in the night
and wake to find our ceiling glimmering,
the day a psaltery of light.
So we’re out over the snow fields
before it’s all seen off with a salt-lick
of Atlantic air, then home at dusk, snow-blind
from following chains of fox and crow and hare,
to a fire, a roasting bird, a ringing phone,
and voices wondering where we are.
A day foretold by images
of glassy pond, peasant and snowy roof
over the holy child iconed in gold.
Or women shawled against the goosedown air
pleading with soldiers at a shifting frontier
in the snows of television,
while in the secret dark a fresh snow falls
filling our tracks with stars.
Boxing Day – what does it mean to you?
Posted: December 26, 2025 Filed under: Analysis, Entertainment, Home and Garden | Tags: Boxing Day, comic, dievca, Holiday 2025, Humor, Life, Shopping, tradition Leave a comment
Boxing Day, celebrated on December 26th in Commonwealth nations, is a holiday originating from the tradition of giving gifts (in boxes) to servants and tradespeople the day after Christmas, evolving into a day for post-Christmas sales, sporting events (like soccer), and enjoying leftovers with family. It’s also linked to Saint Stephen’s Day, honoring the first Christian martyr and charity.
Origins & Meaning
Servants’ Gifts: Wealthy employers would give their servants a “Christmas box” of gifts or money to thank them for their Christmas Day work.
Church Donations: Another theory links it to alms boxes in churches, opened on St. Stephen’s Day (Dec 26) to distribute donations to the poor.
Saint Stephen’s Day: It coincides with the feast day of St. Stephen, known for charity, connecting the day to helping those in need.
Modern Traditions
Shopping: It’s a major shopping day with big sales, similar to Black Friday in the U.S..
Sports: Popular for watching football (soccer), cricket, and horse racing.
Family: Often involves using Christmas leftovers for a casual lunch and visiting family.
Where it’s Celebrated
Primarily in the UK and Commonwealth countries like Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa.

dievca’s motto? keep it simple:

- Baked Ham
- Bagels
- Fruit Salad
- Water, Orange Juice, Coffee and Tea
Now she’s back after a 2.5 hour nap and looking to fully clean the apartment in the next three days. Yeah~

Her Dad passed and she was recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s. She fell, hit her head, wouldn’t go to the hospital and died in her sleep. She was about 5 years older than dievca. Her Mom is alive and has Alzheimer’s.
She is not the 1st person in dievca’s age bracket to have passed:
- High School mate died of a diet pill overdose at 18
- College Roommate – failed liver at 50
- College Best Friend – Gallbladder then Pancreas Cancer at 50
It is a death that targets the fears and worries of getting older.
