Just me, dinee

I’m in a bad mood.. I’m allowed to have them.. right?

I log into SL to get away from the frustrations of RL and end up logging out just as frustrated. Tired of people acting like jerks just because they can. It never ceases to amaze me how many people feel its their god given right to ruin things for other people. What really blows me away is how they brag or are proud of what they say or do. They cant see or don’t want to see how many people they hurt in their quest to cause as much disruption as they can.

(What in the hell is she going on about?)

OK, a little background:

I have had the honor and the pleasure of knowing 2 great guys in SL, Nik and Frey. I have worked with them both in the Bad Ampitude group, they helped me out immensely when I was struggling to keep things together when Vampi wasn’t able to be there. What was really remarkable about these guys, one had spinal cancer and the other had respiratory problems, neither one of them could get out and SL was their only means of interacting with other people. To them SL was a freedom to be and feel normal. They opened my eyes to the plight of the bedridden. Since knowing these 2, I have met many more like them.

Bad Ampitude, (to me) provides a small service to the bedridden, the sick and the infirm. In our own way we make them smile, we try our best to give them a concert atmosphere. We take special care in making our avvies look like the real performer. We make the stages interesting to look at with special light effects and our music is chosen with care, only the live cuts are used. I have lost count how many people have thanked us for bringing a smile to their faces or a little fun onto their lives, from both the infirm as well as the able bodied.

Well? Where does the rant come in?

Every once in a while someone in the audience takes it upon themselves to inform the rest of the crowd that we are not real. We hear “cheat” and “scam”. I have no idea who we are cheating or scamming.
A recent concert of nightwish was nearly ruined by some self professed troll (yes she referred to herself as one) Thankfully she was ejected, the show carried on and the people enjoyed themselves.

I know none of these “trolls” will ever read this article, but I have faith in Karma and they will get theirs somehow, the sad thing is they wont know its karma getting them back. In the meantime Bad Ampitude will carry on, we will keep performing to crowds in SL and keep putting smiles on the faces of all the Nik’s and Frey’s out there.

Hangs her head in shame. As they say, its been WAY too long since I posted last.

Anyone who used to follow me are now saying “dinee who?” Anyone that does remember me,  are asking.. “OMG is she still around?”

Its been 7 years in SL and at least 4 years since I posted last.  I think its time I did some catching up, don’t you? Well in a nutshell, I’m with a group called Bad Ampitude, I still make things, I fell in love, I got hurt, I tried again, got hurt again (rinse repeat) and now with the best one ever. Read some books, played some WoW. Had health issues, played Rift, saw some movies.

Well, that’s it..  see ya in 4 years.

No huh? I don’t get off that easy I guess.  Well ok, I’ll spruce up the site a bit and see what thoughts or stories I can share with you. In other words.. watch this space.   <big silly grins>

You’ve heard me talk about it before.  I’m working with a Rock band troupe.  Bad Ampitude.  It’s something I started doing a while ago to pass the time and have a bit of fun with. Well the fun has turned into work, but like anything, not without its rewards. Its still fun, I meet a lot of people and have a lot of laughs.

What we do: We are a rock band troupe. We dress the part of various rock bands, play as many live concert tunes as we can find and perform at clubs that hire us.

Sounds simple? Not really. The time and money we put into it researching the players, clothing, hair, skins, shapes, shoes, accessories, animations, stage effects and instruments all add up to create a troupe that is quickly becoming one of the busiest groups of performers in Second Life.

In the following weeks I will be posting events, conversations and happenings of what its like to be living with with the band. I hope you enjoy and have a few laughs.
