Is he on the wrong side of the street?

They had signs with their own names and ages on them. All I could think of is that an intrepid criminal could get quite the shopping list.

USA Today reports TSA to retest the body scanners.

Read it yourself. Warning will raise blood pressure.
USA Today story.

The MONEY paragraph.

In the past, the TSA has failed to properly monitor and ensure the safety of X-ray devices used on luggage. A 2008 report by the worker safety arm of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that the TSA and its maintenance contractors had failed to detect when baggage X-ray machines emitted radiation beyond what regulations allowed. They also failed to take action when some machines had missing or disabled safety features, the report shows.

Is that like the safty feature that is supposed to keep them from saving porn I mean pictures? Or is it the safty feature that is supposed to keep us from cooking like a microwave dinner?

Another edition of CUBEVILLE

Overheard in Cubeville

Big Swirly Mass of ....YUCK!
(Refering to the impending snowstorm on the weather radar)

Addressing Islamaphobia

I would like to address Islamaphobia.
With the following:

Can you name a terrorist organization that is NOT Muslim?

I can think of only two...Liberte de Quebec and the IRA.

Can you name any current armed conflict that does not involve Muslims as a combatant on one or both sides.

No.

Can you name any terrorist event that has not been perpetuated by a Muslum since say 2000?

No

Not all Muslims are terrorists....but it seems the overwhelming majority of terrorists are Muslim

Besides the eradication of Israel and the Jews, Americans are the second listed group they would most like to see eradicated.

Their religion instructs them to lie in order to promote the goals of Islam.
Their later religious texts superscede earlier versions. This means the more violent pasages are in effect while the often quoted religion of peace scriptures are null and void.
Their leaders will not stop untill their religion is the only one and all the earth is under Sharia/Islamic law.

Is it paranoia when they definitly out to get you?

Finaly a friend of mine puts it simply.
A group of people that thinks it's a great idea to strap bombs to kids to blow up other kids? Not my idea of a civilization to emulate.

We the Jury

I was recently called for Jury Duty. Was placed on a jury for a self defence shooting incident. The Procecution knew of my beliefs on the 2nd ammendment and that I own guns ect... Keeping me on that jury was a bad move on their part. Not going in great detail It's easily summed up in a GBC regular's saying

You do stupid stuff, you win stupid prizes.

Turns out our "victim" was a 22yr old felon just out of jail...not only that he lied on the stand about drinking heavily that night. (medical records don't lie...you did). And our young genious decided to go through some bushes to "confront" a probably armed defendent.

Result: Try again...Hung Jury....*shrug*

HEY RECOIL JUNKIES!!

Range report goodness!
HEY JayG...I'll one up your 45-70....

Guy one stall over just bought a .426 magnum? (one step below a .454 casull) and was trying it out. He let me shoot it!...one problem.....it wasn't that revolver....he rented a .500 S&W magnum....One round right into the left leg of the X...that one isn't going to be walking away.....

.45acp vs .500 S&W Magnum
My hand was still sore hours later :)

CNN: White House to Push Gun Control

BOHICA
You knew it was only a matter of time. .GOV to push to restrict the rights of the law abiding in order to ..who am I kidding.... they are just leaving no crisis unexploited. Way to dance in the blood of your own......*sigh*

Deliberate no hyperlink due to bias on the story. Brady campaign a "nation's largest gun safety org" while NRA "powerfull gun lobby". I'm going to be sick.

Laserlyte sights for Ruger mkII pt1

This is the first part of my long overdue review of the Laserlyte rear sight/laser for the Ruger mkII. The gun it's on is a target model that has at some time been refinished. Pictures where taken using my phone.

The sights where provided as a giveaway by our good friend JayG. See the sidebar for a link to his blog. Laserlyte gave him a bunch of their sights for him to review.

Here are some pictures to oogle.

Comparison of the sites compared to the stock target sights.

Sights with laser off.

And with the laser on.

The Sights have both a on and a strobe/flash mode. My impressions are so far positive. The only gripe I have so far is that the instructions on how to adjust point of impact are backwards. This is my noob gun that I try to have all the people that I introduce to shooting start on. The laser might make things easier.

I am of the group that believe that a laser is of little utility on a combat handgun. The mkII does not fit into that description being a target model and it's chambered in .22lr. However the laser does make any flinching or movement of the gun when you are squeezing the trigger more apparent.

Next episode: Playtime!

Laserlyte.com

NOTE TO THE FCC:
Yes this laser was provided free for review to another blogger. No I have not yet received my wheelbarrow of money from the NRA. Would you please look into that?
K THX!
