What Now?

The days are getting longer. We see more of the sun and it’s warmer. Once there was golf and travel. Now, staying home is appealing. Grocery shopping at Whole Foods is most pleasant where a Big Veggie sandwich makes it into our basket for the five minute trip home.

Just a day in the life of an older guy!

Still here!

Don’t get around much anymore! But I’m still here.

The kitties are getting old along with their caretaker. They are 14 years old soon to be 15. I’m 82 but won’t be 83 for another year should I live that long.

It is tempting to get into politics at this point but I’m not up to it. You young people will have to handle it.

Cancer

They say my cancer has escaped the prostate and is now attached to a bone? There is no pain, yet, but while waiting for that I am going to get a Provenge series to give my immune system something to do. Just thought I’d mention? Possibly I will get an extra two years life?

My posts

Two months ago I wrote a comment about a Panda Bear enjoying snow. No one commented on the post, no one even read it? But, you know, that’s OK I enjoyed writing it so there!

Panda Bear

By now all of you have probably seen the pictures of the panda luxuriating in the snow. I’ve seen it three or four times on television and thoroughly enjoyed seeing it each time. It shows what I think is a young panda lying in deep snow throwing the snow around rubbing on himself/herself.

It seems there are more humans interested in treating the animals well. Let’s hope it continues!!

And so it goes!

They are leaving

Yesterday my wife and I went to brunch to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. All was pleasant until we checked out and saw a newspaper clipping that announced the death of a friend–Charlie Green– who worked out at a nearby lake most days after work. This was in the 1980’s I suppose. Sadly, we didn’t know of his funeral or we would have been there. Charlie was also my barber until my wife took over the duties.

Too many of us are dying. Guys I worked with some younger than I. But, let’s face it death is a part of life. As a British friend used to say “Press on, regardless!”

Looking at Life?

Writing about life from the view  of an 80-year-old, I think, is tricky. Who am I writing to? At this point,  the answer is no one. This is a draft not likely to be published anytime soon.

I live day-to-day now. On this date it appears I’ll get through this day which is Monday, September, 28th. I’ve had oatmeal and toast, coffee is next.

The Pope has returned to Rome and all turned out well, it appears.

Think I’ll publish this anyway?

Today’s Observation

There are way too many I’s in my poor misbegotten blogs. In looking through some of the old blogs I start with the letter I. In other words there is the assumption on my part that everyone is hanging on the edge of their chair waiting to read what the old guy is doing? Well, of course, I know most people don’t give a hoot.

Of course the next blog I write will most likely be about me?

I’m now off to throw dark clothes in the washer. 🙂 Well, you never know someone might want to know what I’m doing?
