Just as lying tries to prevent some kinds of information from getting out, so other kinds of abuse of power try to prevent facts, information, perspectives from getting in, by forming classes of people whose voices and testimony will be excluded by law, or by discrediting or intimidating them, or by perpetuating their subordinate status….”
