No, I don't want one, but a new levergun

is always good to see.  Though I do want to know just how far they promise those 1 MOA groups.

SNW also has some information on current suppressor sales.  It's busy.

Never forget the clowns we have with the same attitudes as the Canucks

link

Short version: "We won't leave you troublemaking commoners any way to make things we disapprove of!  And if it screws business, that's a price we're willing to pay!"

The people running Canada are both idiots and gun bigots

'Buyback' my ass.
As it stands now, the Canadian government calls their national confiscation plan a gun buyback, but of course they don’t guarantee any Canadian dollars for anyone who participates and actually turns in their arms.

“Please note that submitting a declaration does not guarantee you will receive compensation,” one of the government’s websites actually states.

"Give us your stuff, or else, that's it!"

Canada’s Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangaree, who has been overseeing the new gun-ban program, has a habit of not watching his mouth.

At a news conference last week, Anandasangaree warned the public that “the compensation program is voluntary, but compliance with the law is not.”

However, during a radio interview just four months ago, Anandasangaree told a friend that he “shouldn’t worry about being arrested for refusing to turn in a banned firearm because municipal police have few resources to devote to such matters.”

The minister quickly sent out a press release, which described his own comments as “misguided.”

Canadian gun owners are somewhat optimistic because their government’s gun ban plan is so complex and confusing.

One pro-gun Canadian website— TheGunBlog.ca—believes they may be in the clear, and that the gun ban may not even happen.

“After more than five years of work, all they have is a website,” the site published.

Yeah, hoping these control freaks give up on this, or will dream up any reason they can to screw you for not following  every detail of a program they can't set up, is not a plan.

Just the kind of crap the leftists would love to do here.

You may have heard that one of the Supremes, a black female Justice, thought that the Black Codes

passed in some states to keep black people from being treated like full citizens was a good justification for Hawaii having some similar laws to restrict the 2nd Amendment.  Which is freaking insane.

Going to borrow this on the subject:
...I understand a lot of people like to cite the black codes who promote gun restrictions, who would -otherwise, they would be garlic in front of a vampire in front of them. But, here, they -they like them, they embrace them. And I'm really interested in why.
I'm sure he knows why, so do I: they hate the commoners having arms without some kind of government permission slip, and they'll use anything they can think of to restrict that.

That link has some real interesting commentary, which includes people claiming "Well, THIS part of the Black Codes were not racist!"

I repeat, they'll use any argument they think they can get away with to try to get rid of as much of the 2nd as they can.

Bill and Hillary Clinton SHOULD be in big trouble;

let me know when enough Republicans find enough balls to actually do anything.

Just a couple of comments on things

No, I've had some helluva coughing spells in the past, but never managed to pull a muscle before.  And I'll be careful to try to avoid it again.

Sailor Curt is right: the best thing is to have a decent ammo supply before a bunch of people decide "I need more."

Why would anyone be surprised?  The Mayor is a communist, of course he's supporting other communists who hate the US.

Mr. Steyn has thoughts:
Twenty years ago, my eventual book-length argument was summarised in the Toronto Globe and Mail by the eminent “political scientist” William Christian as “quite possibly the most crass and vulgar book about the West’s relationship with the Islamic world I have ever encountered“. Professor Christian has evidently led a sheltered life: he was born in the Queen Charlotte Islands, which are now officially known as “Haida Gwaii”, a bollocks name invented in hopes of appeasing “the Haida nation”; it turns out that these days nowhere is really that sheltered, don’t you find?

But just because something is “crass and vulgar” doesn’t mean it’s not correct. It’s certainly straightforward. The western world is going out of business because it’s given up having babies. The mid-twentieth-century welfare state, with its hitherto unknown concepts such as spending the first third of your life in “education” and the last third in “retirement”, was carelessly premised on mid-twentieth-century fertility rates, and, as they collapsed, the west turned to “migrants” to be the children they couldn’t be bothered having themselves. The condition of your maternity ward may be “crass and vulgar”, but it’s not a speculative prediction.

That's exactly what some of these bastards will do

The question is how many of these assholes- Lemon included- would still have done it if they'd known that was what some people planned?

On that 'coughs or sneezes hurting',

That particular part of my current problem was caused by something I'd heard of be never done:
I've been having some sneezing fits, and one night, on about the fourth sneeze, I turned a bit- tissue being out of reach- and pulled  a muscle in my back.

Hurt like a sonofabitch, and still has every time I sneeze, or cough.

Due to the various problems I did talk to the doc, who gave me the usual 'cold and hot' advice(thanks for the suggestion, guys, but I have had injuries before) and a prescription for a muscle relaxant.  Which makes me feel tired, but it has been helping.  The shoulder- a different cause that's also hurt like hell at times- it hasn't made any difference I can tell, but cold & hot combined with being easy on it for a few days, has helped.  Still going to have to take it easy for a while.

Taking it easy including making multiple trips to get stuff.  Which I hate doing at times.

Totally off subject, the Post Awful is useless on tracking packages.  "It was shipped today!" being followed by days of "We're waiting to receive it", followed by 'En Route' for days.  Next time I order something, I'll pay more for "We'll actually update the tracking" and "We won't take as long as the Post Awful to get your stuff to you".

Something to think about on ammo

from BRM:

In their latest e-circular, received yesterday, SG Ammo, my favorite suppliers, had this to say:

We have seen a sharp increase in consumer demand for bulk ammo orders over the past 8 days. Daily sales volume initially rose 25% to 35%, and now 35% to 45% over the past 3 days when compared to the daily averages of the first week of this month. This also represents an even larger increase from demand in December. While some of this should be expected, as the busy season for selling ammo is generally November to April with a peak in March as income tax refunds get spent, we feel that the elevated demand signals a widespread urge by the consumer to stock up on ammo. In my opinion, it would be wise to stock up now if you need ammo while depressed market pricing lingers from 2025 and before 2026 price increases from the factories begin to force widespread increases in the retail market.
Having worked part-time at a store, I watched people come in during the 'Mostly Peaceful Protest' years and the Virus Panic time who'd buy a box, shoot all or most of it, then buy another next time they came in; but now it was
"I need a box of nine/.45/.38/whatever."
"We're out."  Followed by watching the panicked look on their face.  This being especially true when, watching the riot videos, they realized they had little or nothing of actual defensive type for their boomstick.

This was followed by, when we got some, having it sell out in minutes, whether defensive or practice ammo and at whatever price(because, under that pressure,  the prices went up fast too).

Considering the insanity in a few places, it might well happen again.  So you might consider- if you don't already have some- getting some 'just in case' ammo set back.

Interesting piece on all the interest in Greenland, which includes

In a Fox News interview on Thursday, Denmark's foreign minister [finally admitted that] Trump has a point on China and Russia's threat to Greenland. Indeed, none other than the intelligence service of Denmark itself warned last year about Russian and Chinese military goals toward Greenland and Arctic.

My, it's like there's actual reason for talking about the US acquiring Greenland.

Remember a jerk named Don Lemon, used to be with CNN?

He's moved on to claiming the 1st Amendment give him and his clowns the right to, at the least, trespassing and- if they kept people from leaving and such- quite possibly kidnapping.

No, it doesn't, asshole.  And you and the others should be prosecuted.

This is more of the left playing "Whatever we do is free speech!" games to excuse what they do, including their violent acts.  And planning to kill people.  And excusing those already dead.

Yes, we have come to the clearing time for the week

because I've wound up with a bunch of this stuff saved for your entertainment

I still like Calvin & Hobbes, and Tracer Bullett is still my favorite string of that cartoon

Subject of flintlock kits having come up,

some years back I went looking for one, CVA used to make a blunderbuss kit I was looking for as a present.  And found they no longer made them.

Further looking found a few places that did put together a kit to build them, but they were a lot more expensive than used to be.  And I can't remember where, but there was someone making a kit for the Baker rifle, much more expensive.*

Which is still  something I feel a need for a good flintlock rifle.  For some reason, that desire is still there.

One of these days I need to find a barrel, there's a Remington rolling block receiver I'd like to complete.  But a good barrel... finished barrels I could not find.  And a blank, especially counting the machine time to have it chambered, and the shank threaded and so forth, that's expensive.

*Considering the features and parts, not unexpected.

Speaking of slimy Democrat(in this case) politicians,

was sent this reminder of their liking of guns and kidnapping, as long as it's their minions holding them and doing it
Elian Gonzales, being taken by Feds at Clinton administration orders.  And handing him over to a communist government.

Hakeem Jeffries is a vile, oathbreaking bastard

who thinks promising to misuse/abuse the Justice Department is fine as long as Democrats do it.

Much like that clown Walz the Democrats wanted to be Vice President making loud statements about ICE being Trump's Gestapo, and then- when he realized just how much he overstepped- he started asking Trump to 'turn the temperature down'.

And that idiot Mayor of Minneapolis talking about the police fighting battles with ICE, with the Police Chief looking like he wanted to kick him in the ass for wanting to write checks his sorry self won't have to pay.

But mostly, tonight, I'd say "Jeffries, you suck."

I shall have to contain myself

because while I wouldn't mind a good flintlock to mess with, I fear this one is going to be a bit expensive.

I've seen an original Baker once, all things considered in fine shape, and thought "That would be nice."  This one would be even nicer, as it would be very shootable.

Why no, Not posting much right now

Combination of things to take care of, and every time I have to cough or sneeze, it bloody hurts.  Because a few days ago I fell down some stairs(oh, it was graceful, I assure you).  And then. in a fit of sneezes, I pulled a muscle in my back.  I think things are easing a bit, but it's still not pleasant.

More later, when I can put some effort into it.

Looks accurate

Click to embiggen, or go here and can make the pic even bigger.

When you add in the beta males who have been beaten down, it makes even more sense…

And you will note that NOWHERE in any one of the groups is any taking responsibility for actions, and that ALL of them are manipulative. Having encountered a few of these types over the years, one thing I can say for sure is that they ‘never’ expect to pay for any of their transgressions, much less feel any remorse for anything they have done.

Kinda puts the last seven years in a different light doesn’t it???

Since the subject has been loud lately,

Widener's decided to shoot some tires.

And no, it won't magically stop a car that's in motion.

Because our Press was kissing his ass

2016. Obama's Press Secretary is asked about reports that during immigration raids, ICE agents were storming into homes, going room to room looking for illegals, and making children tremble with fear. I thought only fascist Presidents do that sort of thing. Why was the press so civil? Why weren't they crying or at least calling Obama a nazi? How come nobody was shaving their head in protest? Surely there were a bunch of angry white liberal wine moms outside the building screaming at the top of their lungs, right? Always keep in mind how fake and performative the outrage is.

Want to know how screwed Portland is, and why?

They keep putting asshats like this in positions of power
Yes, he was forced to admit the clowns shot when they tried to run over some ICE agents actually are gang members.  And it hurt his feelings because- well, it  makes some people feel bad.

Oregon is so screwed.  Makes you wonder if, when the big fault line off the coast turns loose, it might improve things.

Texas homicide data

 from Ammo.com

More on the idiots who think they're immune from consequences,

which includes "How dare you call us what we are!",
Since Democrats are once again engaged in Kristallnacht-style violence because the electorate rejected their policies, it's time once again for my periodic reminder that all Democrats are fascists. I love the fact that whenever I point this out, some Democrat invariably claims "Derrrrr... you don't even know what fascism is!" So let's explore fascism a little, shall we? Listed below are attributes and practices that all 20th Century fascists have in common with the Democrat Party of 2025: 1. Laws promoting the seizure of guns from law-abiding citizens and/or the denial of gun ownership rights for law-abiding citizens. 2. Censorship of free speech by pretending such censorship protects the citizenry from faulty information (i.e., so-called "disinformation"). 3. Government control of industry. 4. Government control of the mass media. 5. Control of the entertainment industry as a means of propaganda. (See: Leni Riefenstahl; Walt Disney Corporation.)
He's got a list of 16 points.

Another guy has some stuff about Ilhan Omar that the media either ignores, or actively tries to make be ignored, because she's a black female muslim and that makes her automatically The Victim, no matter what she's done.

One reason I often link to something at Instapundit

is they give a good excerpt from a piece that would require paying to read the whole of on the original site.  Like this:

“Why did you have real bullets?” Rebecca reportedly screamed after Good was shot.

The notion that ICE agents would have anything but real bullets in their guns may seem astonishing, but it surely speaks to how Renee Good, an ordinary woman in early middle age and the sole surviving parent of a 6-year-old, ended up behind the wheel of a car, in the middle of the street, engaged in a confrontation, the true stakes of which she so devastatingly misapprehended.

These people truly are friggin' idiots.  Did she actually think that cops would load with blanks when she and her playmates were around?   They actually seem to think they have some clearance to do whatever the hell they want, with no consequences.  And when consequences bite, they can't stand it.

It's also further indictment of the Professional Journalists that it took how long for people to find out she said that?  Or her further stupidity of
"It's my fault, I made her come down here."
Because our media is mostly made up of biased assholes.

Speaking of the 'when consequences bite', there's a piece of video of some counter-protesters carrying American flags, one of whom some antifa type starts following him, sticking a megaphone in his ear and triggering it.  He keeps moving away from the asshole, who keeps following him, until he decides 'Enough' and decks him.  Couple of other assholes, apparently considering fighting back to be unfair, attack, and he decks them too.  Others continue, because "How dare you do anything against one of us assaulting you!"

Effing idiots, at best.

On the CPAP,

it doesn't seem to bother my sleeping, and I think it's helping; I feel less tired during the day.  Which, having pulled up the doctors report from the sleep study, definitely counts as a plus.  I think I mentioned using a nose pillow headpiece, single strap that splits at back of the head, one band high and one low to keep it in place.  They had choices between a mask and these when the respiratory therapist took me through the 'how it works' stuff, and I went with this.

Have been using the vinegar with water to wash things out each week, seems to work very well.  I've got a dish tub set aside specifically for this.

So: got used to it fairly fast, and it does seem to help.

Now if I can stop doing graceful things and hurting myself, it'd make even more of a difference.

I had an eventful last few days

First, I managed to fall down some stairs.  Which wasn't fun.

Then, the other night, I've been sneezing a lot lately.  And somehow I managed to sneeze with my body at a bad angle and pulled a muscle in my back, from what I can tell.  So every time I sneeze, or cough, ow.

I think given a few days they'll both ease off, but damn.

Now, where'd I leave the heating pad?

Holy crap, sounds like the assistance to the Persians is ongoing,

including dealing with regime commanders.

Sure, put them in the Prime Minister's residence

and don't let the bastard leave

Ok, we have AWFLs protesting in favor of the ayotollahs in Iran, while women in Iran risk their lives doing this

The AWFLs, as usual, are against freedom.    Stolen from Mr. Correia on Bookface:
Heh. A friend of mine just saw a video where some AWFLs were protesting in DEFENSE of the Ayatollahs, and was like… dude… HOW?! WTF?!?
And my comment was if you ever want to guess what side of any given issue horrible bossy white liberal women will take, just ask yourself which of these two things is worse for western society, and they will be all over it. 😀
Try it. Pick an issue. Any issue. The less sense it makes the better.
Fraud stealing our tax dollars? Yay fraud. America needs to have more Somali daycares.
Sex changes for children? Sure. Why not?
They’re even against electricity! For the environment!
Nicholas Maduro is a hero. What do all those dumb South Americans know?
Even if it harms other women, as long as it harms the fabric of society more. Like putting violent psychos with twenty prior arrests away? Nope. They are on team psycho killer all the way. If you don’t let him wander the subways with a dagger you’re racist.
Every week there is a new issue, and they will be confidently ass backwards on it, and smug about it.
Test it out for yourself in the comments. Think of any current event or news story from the last few years. What side of this issue hurts society the most? Then the AWFLs are all in.

Yeah.  Also ran across this which seems to fit well:

The terrorism lovers are out, too

If Iran does indeed fall to the Persians, it'll be interesting to see what the left has to say.
Assuming we don't already know.

Absolutely correct

So, which story is the Legacy Media focussed on? Which story do the American people read multiple repeating stories about, multiple op-eds slaying millions of innocent pixels, daily headlines chewing the same damn fat, and repeating the same damn talking points, with only a few words changed?

Some LARPing bint, whose name in two decades will be known only to her children, and whose death will mean absolutely nothing to history?

Or a desperate revolution whose successful outcome will be seen as one of the turning points of the century, whose ripples will affect damn-near everyone on this little green dirtball, and will substantially alter world history?

You already know the answer to that.

Bloody media. And we tolerate this bushwa.

One of the things most of the left is ignoring in Iran

Thought occurred, also, of a reason why the left isn't cheering this:
The left likes to scream for 'Decolonize!', but that's exactly part of what the Persians are doing; but they're doing it to a religioius/political group the left has been protecting for a long time.  And they can't stand it.

Found this picture at Instapundit, where they've had a bunch of updates on the situation.

Borrowed from Instapundit
