“Four wheel moves body, two wheel moves soul”
Yes, it’s true, I really feel it. I was not born rider and from year of 2000 when I got my first bike Hero Honda CD 100, I was commuter till 2012. In mid 2012 I got chance to work with Royal Enfield dealership and first chance to ride Royal Enfield bikes. I actually feel the words which I only heard before like Horse power & Torque. Slowly I have converted commuter to rider.
All over India, all Royal Enfield dealers doing rides with their customers as part of activity. Likewise I also got a chance to ride on bikes. It is not about speeding or it is not about race kind of activity. It is about ride on your comfortable speed with all the riding gears and splitting wind.
Destination was Jambughoda this time for ride. All cool and cloudy atmospheres, thrill of rain, different types of road for riding & we enthu riders. Isn’t it awesome combination?
We started at 7:30 in the morning. Wet smelling in air, till Baroda GSFC crossing, around 35 km it was somewhat hectic due to traffic and two lane of NH8. But from Baroda to Halol crossing around 40 km, it was the way for speed lover, totally four lane road with divider in center. Though, I reached till 90 kmh as per tach, I was comfortable enough and I don’t want to concentrate on vehicles and dig or disturbance on road. I was looking to farmers ploughing their farms, females carrying grass on head, children going their primary schools looking at us curiously, may be because they don’t seem any two wheeler rider even with helmet and we were with full riding gears. I was enjoying wet morning.
At Halol crossing we have reunion to decide further way. It was the way bypassing Pavagadh Mountain. We could see it covered half by rainy clouds. Road of Halol Crossing to Shivrajpur around 20km, it’s quit risky for speeding, there were many danger turns. At some place road was made through giant rocks and with uneven ups and down, but it was scenic area, there were farms, small mountains, lake, all-around greenery give your eyes amazing comfort cooling.
Now you are officially in forest. Yes, after crossing Shivrajpur you are in forest. Though, due to tourism development, there is good tar road but again turns and up-downs. This times its road touching tall teak trees and thicket. Till Jambughoda around 15km you ride through jungle but there are some villages as well on road, you can get refreshment, tea, fuel etc.
Now it was time for back crunching riding, since, Jambughoda to Targol, which was our final destination. It was inner side of main road and we rode around 15km in totally narrow road. Thickets mild slap on your helmets throughout the way. Finally we reached at place, Vikrambhai (Supervisor of resort) welcome us. Vikrambhai called us “guest”, however, each resort of Forest department using the same word. (Amongst all airline company, only Kingfisher uses this word “guest” for their passengers). It is great feeling, you are not a passenger or not a customer or not a tourist. You are special because you are “GUEST”. After formal talk with him he told us to walk around till he prepared breakfast, and yes of course, we were hungry now, we needed some energy for further adventures. We reached their by 10:30 in morning. In half an hour Vikrambhai called us for breakfast. It was delicious hot “Paua” and tea in breakfast. After had breakfast we were in mood now and filled up with energy. Some of riders went inner side of jungle on their bikes and some were sat on canal flowing nearby resort. I decided to take a walk in jungle. It was awesome experience to walk through jungle where you could hear silence. Even movement of insect in leaves can scare you. It was advisable to go for trek with guide only so, I return from the visible distance form resort. Though, rain was at our side since morning but it was limit of his passions in full monsoon. It started in his full motion. We ran in corridor and sat on chair. We were in their till finished our lunch. It was pure Gujarati food made by Vikrambhai and his wife. At 2:30 in after noon we left the resort. Though, it was too early but it was getting darker and we knew that we had to pass the jungle in this darkness so we left early. Till Vadodara it was shower to heavy rain. Though, we stopped at some place for photography and reunion.
After riding around 290kms at 5:30 in evening I finished my ride with wet and muddy outfits and riding gears along with 290 kms vibration & acupressure treatment in my bones and vain and mind and soul….Amazing…..
