It’s really a wonderful thing

When we peep deep in the years gone by

And revisit the reels of our years of life which has turned into past, leaving some footprints though

One event follows another

Till today on attaining the age of 75.

On attaining the age of 75

I reminisce the school days

With a load of satchel, full of books

I used to go to my village school

For learning the knowhow of reading and writing

The teachers, those days, were very cooperative and kind

Used to teach us how best to hold the holder

Or pencil to scribble the alphabets in of language three

English, Urdu and Hindi

The teachers (Ustads) were very understanding, really

They knew how best to handle each child individually

And make the learning a child’s play

So that child could be disciplined to handle stresses & strains of life

Along with challenges that may follow after school days

In that I was not apart from my classmates.

On finishing the schooling

The College experience was really a different ballgame altogether

Here, we did not get spoon feeding as during school days

The subjects were different and the teachers were entirely different

Had to work hard for getting knowledge for better outcome

In college, there was no special treatment on individualistic basis

All were given lectures; you understand or not is your botheration.

Then came the professional training

In an institute of repute, in a town

A change from village lifestyle indeed

Came out of the Institute with flying colours; due to God’s grace

And got my service while I was merely 21 years old.

Fresh from schooling and college environs

To start working in an organisation was different

A new working environs, new colleagues and superiors

In the initial days, I was made aware of the task to be handled

Learn the ropes of work ethics, keeping tab of things to be done

Going through new set of policies for the organisation

Besides keeping a record of tasks to be accomplished within timeframe

As I had cultivated the habit of working hard

There was no difficulty in task orientation

With or without the assistance of my superiors

With no hesitation for assuaging my curiosities

For enhancing my knowledge beneficial for the organisation.

One thing, for sure, is of significance

 This is: how best to be adaptive to the change

To make myself aware I worked on the basis of give and take

Learn what you do not know and teach others what they donot know,

While showcasing efficacy for result oriented work ethics

Not putting off things which spoil the show in real sense

Procrastination is dangerous both for the person concerned and the organisation

It should never be forgotten, in any way.

With strict discipline along with sincerity in handling exigencies helpd

Got optimum outcomes for overall performance

While learning the nuts and bolts of organisation’s working ethics

Adapted myself as per the requirement of organisation hierarchy

Never ever thinking that the org will change in any way as per my desires, I’ve to effect change

Even after superannuation (After 60 years of age) from first spell of service

I got another appointment, without wait of even a single day!

Proving that when you sweat during the training period

And even thereafter, learning makes huge difference

Acquiring knowledge from birth till our last days is possible

With the grace of our Almighty God

You can adjust with anybody under the sun without much difficulty

When you know how best to utilize the acquired knowledge  

I wanted a change,

After a period of service from Sept 1973 to July 2025

A service period of more than 50 years!

And live happily with my family ultimately.

Essentially, there is sweet lesson from the school, college, institute

And the longstanding service period, learning should never stop

We should try adjusting with others; subordinates or superiors

We’ve to learn how to pay respect for getting the same in return

Learn always, everybody wants efficiency

But nobody wants efficient man,

So never forget this, but never ever mention this to others

Lest this is used for you!

Our performance should speak for itself

In the initial stages, if nobody likes us, hardly matters, no problem

Others will understand us better afterwards

Don’t be hopeless, Time heals every bounds

Problems are here to be solved that is they are called problems

Talking tall or being smart in anyway is of no avail

We ourselves have to make adjustments ourself

Like the ones we do while making adjustments during parade

It is all individual’s character which counts

Nobody will come to your rescue when you are at fault

So be very careful do not make mistake of committing any ‘fault’

Or consequences would be outlandish,

A mistake could, sometimes is disastrous

If committed, just accept the same with dignity

Since those who work will commit mistake

And learn a sweet lesson from that mistake

Repetition of mistake is counterproductive

Should never be forgotten in any event

This is true in official work.

 

Herein too, we’ve to be very careful

In putting warmth in the relationships

Accepting mistakes and amending

And promise not to repeating

In anyway should be our motto

Try not to be over smart

That would be your breaking point in creating pitfalls in relations

Cultivate good habits, good behaviour, patience, forgetting and forgiving something happened during living with our family.

The elders in the family should spread fragrance of love and affection

So that such fragrance affects the younger members positively

Stay silent, when it is the need of hour

Talking loud or tall talk may spoil congenial environs in home front

But no gags for the younger ones, free speech is a must

Remain like ice cube, when some disciplining of younger lots is needed

Reward and punishment could be a better solution.

 

Thence, transfer the family traditions to the next gen

so that they respectfully follow the same for their life’s journey

Leading a spiritual lifestyle will make difference

This enhances our connectivity with Omnipotent and Omniscient God

Thus, enhancing our self awareness for a better living

It also helps us enhance our knowledge base

Which we use for enhancement of our wisdom

To distinguish between what is good and bad for us humans.

• NO ATTACHMENT WITH WORLDLY THINGS SINCE THIS LIFE OF OURS IS IMPERMANENT. TOO MUCH DESIRES ARE DANGEROUS FOR OUR BODY, MIND AND SOUL.

MAKKAR SANKRANTI (ON 14TH JANUARY 2026) A RESPECTFUL TRIBUTE TO SUN GOD

In the Brahma-Saṁhitā: The Sun-God is known as Vivasvān, the king of the sun, which is the origin of all planets within the solar system. The sun represents the eye of the Lord and traverses its orbit in obedience to His order. It is the king of the planets, and the Sun-God rules the sun planet, which is controlling all other planets by supplying heat and light. Therefore, Sun plays a significant role in the solar system and is huge source of energy. Life without Sun cannot even be imagined.

Makkar Sankranti is celebrated in the month of Paus (January) Makar Sankranti is the day when the Sun God enters the Northern Hemisphere. Hindus like Greeks worship Sun God – the giver of immense energy. Sun God is termed as the manifest God, having all the glorious divinity. It is worthwhile to mention here that mantra OM ADITYA AYE NOMON and many other mantras are recited in order to get the blessings of the Sun–God.

The devout also chant Gyatri Mantra, taken from Rig Veda while making final offering to God. which is from Rig-Veda, as Makkar Sankranti is associated with cosmic event which affects the life of humans immensely. 

WE PRAY THE SUSTAINER OF LIFE WHO BESTOWS US  LIGHT AND HEAT

Om Bhur Bhuvaḥ Swaḥ
Tat-savitur Vareñyaṃ
Bhargo Devasya Dhīmahi
Dhiyo Yonaḥ Prachodayāt.

Which means: We meditate and adore thee the Supreme Lord, the Creator of everything, who’s Divine Light illuminates all spheres of activity (physical, mental and spiritual). We pray that this Divine Light may light-up our intellect forever.

This festival is celebrated with immense gaiety and enthusiasm in all parts of India with different names at different places but the keenness remains the same. Devout get up early in the morning, take bath in holy rivers first take the blessings of their elders and then offer prayers in the temples. After having offered prayers, people give alms to the needy according to their capacity. In the afternoon, people share a special Khichri (Hotchpotch – a mix of dall-urdh and channa dal).

SUN GOD IS HUGELY BENEFICIAL AS IT GIVES US HEAT ENERGY WHICH SUSTAIN THE LIVES OF ALL LIVING BEINGS

MAKKAR SANKRANTI

Makkar Sankranti has its origin to the movement of the Earth
Around the Sun and begins from (Sankranti) one zodiac sign
Into another – Capricorn zodiac (Makkar) sign
Two movements are termed as Makkar Sakranti.

Makkar Sankranti marks the beginning of solar maagha masa
Makkar Sankranti Day is beginning of start of harvest season
Ushers in pleasant Spring Season
Which is, in essence, a pan India celebration.

Factually, Makkar Sankranti has a solid Lohri connect
Both fall one after the other
13th & 14th Day of January every year
Both are considered sacred.

This day marks the beginning of warmer days ahead
As the sacred months start from this day onwards
Makkar Sankranti is celebrated with great fervour
In western and northern India with zeal & enthusiasm.

There is a mention of this day in Mahabharata
As, it is the festival of Sun God
Which gives us light and heat
Thus becomes a cause
Of life possible on our planet Earth
Factually without any bias
And bestows us lifeforce
Thus holding an eternal significance.

For me, this day has a special worth indeed
Since I saw the first dawn of the day in 1951, a day so sacred
With the grace of my Lord
Ever since I have been graced with a life so contended
For which I am really thankful to my God, so very benevolent.

                                                   PONGAL FESTIVAL

SUN IS THE SUSTAINER OF OUR LIVES

Then there is festival called Pongal
Which is also dedicated to Sun God
A huge source of energy indeed
In essence a life giving
To living beings.

PONGAL FESTIVAL OF SOUTH INDIA

The Pongal festival is celebrated in South India (Especially in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and even in foreign lands such as Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore etc.). This festival is celebrated for four days (14th to 17th January). This is a harvest festival dedicated to the SUN GOD. The Sun is a huge source of energy which helps in growing the crops from sowing to the harvesting season. It also includes boiling of the rice of season sanctified to the Sun which is termed as Surya Mangalyam. Not only this, the natural energy in the form of solar energy is being utilized enormously presently.

This festival is being celebrated on 14th January 2026. It is the prominent harvest festival by the farmers. On this occasion, tasty community feast is organized and all people enjoy this feast on this occasion. This festival is unique to Assamese people since Assamese New Year starts from this day. I offer my felicitations from the core of my heart to the entire Assamese community on this momentous occasion. Like any other festivals like Lohri, Baisakhi, etc. Magh Bihu festival too is associated with agriculture; mainly harvesting.

The people enjoy feasts, play melodious music with dancing. Bihu dance is one of the most important part of Assamese culture. It is a group dance performed by the young men and women with brisk movement of hands and other body parts with beating of drums as enchanting music. The colour theme of the dancers is red which signifies joy and vitality.

There are also local traditional and cultural activities which are organized and conducted. The children wear flower garlands. In fact there are three Bihu festivals each of which have unique feature and significance but common feature in all these Bihu festivals is the participation and celebration by all the Assamese.‍‍

EACH MOMENT IS A INVALUABLE GIFT FROM OUR CREATOR & SHOULD BE CELEBRATED

If we take life as a celebration, each moment gifted by our Creator is worth celebrating. The moment, good or not so good, is distinct, since it is the humans amongst living beings which could celebrate the same! This life of ours as humans, as we are aware,  happens after living a life in different forms as living beings; animals, birds, amoebas or any other forms and formulation. But only the humans are bestowed. with   emotions; the use of which depends upon our intelligence and wisdom which affords us opportunity to celebrate..

PAST EXPERIENCES AS A GUIDE FOR LIVING A LIFE OF COOPERATION

Importantly, we’ve the freedom of thought and action thereof based upon our past experiences. Each of experience is unique in itself besides each experience should make us sublime, humble, humane, compassionate filled with positive thoughts and transact our Karmic deeds with bliss as a significant pursuit. It is also a fact that life of ours, being impermanent in nature itself is a huge gift from our Omnipotent & Omniscient God and should be construed as a celebration. Distinct occasions, make us aware of the important occurrences which could and must be celebrated in the honour of important festivals (as a spiritual connotation or important dates related with significant National Days or change of season etc).  It may be Lohri, Holi, Dussehra, Diwali, Republic Day, Independence Day, Gur Purbha of Sikh Gurujis, Merry Christmas, Eid or any other regional related festivals. One thing particular about all these is the celebratory mood of people. That is the beauty of India and its traditions.

IMPORTANCE OF FESTIVALS

It is worthwhile to mention that our country is a home to multicultural, multilingual and multi-religious society. We can pride ourselves in having different festivals too which are related to religion, caste, faith, culture and traditions. These festivals are seasonal, traditional, custom based, religion based or for that matter any other sacred considerations. In our beautiful land, every caste, religion and region has contributed its mite for enriching the cultural philosophy, traditions of our land with variation in the traditional mores of behaviour. The reason for the festival(s) may be any but the common thread of all of these is the zest and enthusiasm with which these fairs and festivals are celebrated by all without discrimination. We Indians enjoy all the religious festivals.

Lohri festival is related with farming communities finishing their harvesting tasks besides selling yields of their crops etc. This is the occasion of celebration for them and, with it, others too accompany them in their celebration.

Each Festival is unique

And have significance of its own
Igniting our inner emotions
Festivals are linked either with change in season
Or occasioned as National Days of importance
Or have religious overtone.

Lohri is a winter festival
Comes on 13^th  January in Paush/Magha
Which brings about smiles on the faces of the general masses

Especially the hardworking farmers.

This festival marks the beginning of end of winter season
But this year seemingly a different one
With toxic air with cold winds abounding

As winter season spreads its wings
But nothing dampens the spirit of festivities.

There may be any reason
But basic truth clearly remains
We all wait for festivals with immense expectations
Since these special occasions light-up our inner emotions
Giving us joy and cheerfulness.
The farmers start harvesting rabi crops
The crops harvested in winter season
Which include Wheat, Gram, Mustard, Linseed, Peas, Barley among others which are health giving.

Start of spring season, a gift of Mother Nature

Which gives additional dose of spice to our festivities
Besides bringing smiles and festive moods on this occasion.

Customarily, on Lohri day a bonfire is lit
Devotees congregate around it, overwhelmed with joyous feelings
With reverence in their heart abounding
And take rounds around the bonfire with feelings so warm
And filled with huge reverence to the God Supreme for giving us a day of celebration.
With loving devotion
Offer Jaggery (gur), sesame seeds (til)
Sesame coated sugar candies
And popcorns are put into leaping bonfire
The fire lit too showcases
That it too is enjoying the act done with respect and piety.

The skyward leaping fire flames purify the atmosphere & fills with fragrance
Exhibiting that the fire too is enjoying all acts of devout around
In essence, there is hidden joy
For devotees in this sacred bonfire.

Gathering partake the sacred parsada offerings
With satiety writ large on faces of devout
Offerings too is made to ‘panj tatavas’
The five elements of Mother Nature
Fire, wind, water, ether and earth. Deference

Going around the bonfire with great a veneration
And singing traditional songs with dance with due reverence
Makes a huge difference
And that too in tune with beating of drums, so enchanting!

Tradition has it that there was a very brave person of repute
Named Dulla Bhatti, a Muslim by religion,
From lineage of warrior race of the Rajputs
In the reign of Mughal king Akbar
Used to rescue poor girls from the clutches of robbers
Thence used to get them married to suitable boys of their choice.

People sing Lohri songs with gusto in his praise
To mark and commemorate and appreciate his good deeds.

Then other legend of the origin of Lohri
From the wife of Saint Kabir named ‘Loi’
Herself a lady so pious on whose name Lohri is celebrated.

LOHRI IS SEASON RELATED

It marks the end of winter season and beginning of sowing of some crops such as Wheat, Gram, Pea, Mustard, Linseed, Barley, Peas and others. It infuses vitality and special enthusiasm in the lives of people – especially the farmers.

The Lohri festival symbolizes prayer to the fire (Agni Puja) in the evening. The people take parikarma (rounds) around the bonfire and shower offerings to fire as a mark of respect. Fire ritual or Agnihotra (Specially lit fire – Havan) is the process of purifying the environment and people also consign to the fire a mix of rice, peanuts, walnuts, almonds besides sesame seeds (til) and jaggery (Gur) to the fire before distributing and taking the same themselves.

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF FIRE RITUAL

Fire has special significance in our cultural ethos as we are aware that our body is madeup of FIVE ELEMENTS such as Fire (Agni), Water (Jal), Air (Vayu), Earth (Prithvi), Ether / Sky (Akaash). Amongst these Fire (Agni) has a special significance and possesses healing power besides it helps in happiness of all, along with its benefits to the farming community. Special prayers to the Almighty God are done in order to get the graces of benevolent God for peace and prosperity of all. newly wedded couples and newly born babies receive special attention on this festival. People give charity/alms to the needy on this occasion. They also share Gur and other items made from Til and Gur.

DIFFERENT LEGENDS IN RELATION TO LOHRI FESTIVAL

MUSLIM WARRIOR (DULLA BHATTI (RAI ABDULLAH KHAN)

The legend of Dulla Bhatti (Rai Abdullah Khan) is very popular. It is a legend of a Rajput warrior who saved a damsel in distress belonging to the Hindu family from the clutches of lustful and greedy robbers. The brave Rajput adopted her as his own daughter without let or hindrance and married her off to a young and suitable Hindu boy. He also gave her presents – nine mounds of sugar along with other gifts etc. on her marriage. This shows that there was a community feeling during those days.

Then question arises, if during those feelings for each other was rampant then why not now!? To appreciate his gesture, the people sing the following song describing the event and also mentioning about the beauty of the girl who was saved.

While I was young, I along with my friends used to go to the houses in our neighborhood and used to sing and get sweets made for this particular day. This song is sung by the youngsters even now on this auspicious occasion; SUCH IS THE NATUTRE AND ITS UTILITIES;

Sunder mundriye ho!
Tera kaun vicaharaa ho!
Dullah bhatti walla ho!
Dullhe di dhee vyayae ho!
Ser shakkar payee ho!
Kudi da laal pathaka ho!

SANT KABIR & HIS WIFE

There is also a legend of Sant Kabir and his wife names Loi. He used to love his wife immensely. So much so intense was his passion for his wife that one day, he reached his home in the middle of dark night, travelling from a far off place. The door was closed from inside. His wife was sleeping on the first floor. Finding that there was no ladder, he took the help of a rope hanging from the first floor of his house. When his wife saw him, she was very surprised and asked him as to how he had entered the first storey. Thereupon, she along with Kabir saw that the help with which he had reached the first storey was with the help of a hanging python.

Sant Kabir’s wife got upset and in extreme sadness uttered: The passion with which he was nursing for her, if he had the same fervour for the God, he could get anything from God as a reward?

Significantly, we know the life and the personage was Sant Kabir who was a mystical poet whose writings had a deep effect on Bhakti Movement and his verses find place in Sri Guru Granth Sahib too.

He was brought up in a Muslim family but was deeply influenced by his teacher Ramananda but he criticized both in his verses because of his close proximity with both and knew ins and outs of these religions.

In the writings of Sant Kabir, he has emphatically mentioned that the God is only with those who follow righteous lifestyle and also one who follows a detached mode of life. His followers are known as Kabir Panthis.

It was due to the timely advice of his wife named Loi that Kabir had a huge transformation in his life and became a well known Sant who influenced millions with his writings. Lodi or Loi is also celebrated in his and his wife’s honour who was instrumental in transforming his life. There is a sound lesson in this, if two spouses combine together, they can make a huge difference not only for the husband and wife, but to the entire family or when a person is like SANT KABIR & and his LOI, then, a society can be transformed.

My sincere prayers to Almighty God to rid the world off scourge of hate and bitterness; some countries showcasing their extreme attitude of ‘might is right’ are overwhelming the weaker ones, caring little for human rights. Almighty God has bestowed humans with intelligence and wisdom, these gifts should used for wellbeing of humanity as a whole.

The days gone by

Give me good & not so good experiences

I try saying goodbye to the ones

Which gave me some backward kicks

But tightly lapped the ones most alluring ones

Which helped generating smiles so empowering

And then dividing those smiles

With a multiplying affects

Gifting me the enduring pleasure

Of distributing some more purposeful

Which, Alas! is very scarce presently.

SAYING GOODBYE TO 2025 & WELCOMING 2026

Time just passes on, leaving some telltale of footprints here and there. Soe of these footprints of events are washed away either by water or strong winds of time takes away some of these. The remaining footprints of events leave permanent impressions. The good events strength our resolve while the negative ones leave scars on our memory lane and we’ve to live with them throughout our lives. But not so good impressions/imprints, teach us important lessons to live our lives with these positive experiences; warding off negative aspects of our experiences.

In Bhagwad Gita, TIME has been defined as the God’s Energy which is responsible for creation, evolution and destruction of all material things created including our own body. Material things have endless cycles of creation, evolution/preservation and destruction finally. The material world is temporary whereas our Soul is Eternal. Being temporary in nature, it suffers in one form or other. The true purpose of our existence is to know about Eternal Truth through meditation in place of running after the impermanent things in life.

Additionally, one thing is sure, TIME FACTOR, plays a significant role in all the stages of living since time ticks on and never stops; day changes into night and this natural process goes on unabated. It cares not for anybody, even mightiest ones (Maternal things) too.  Only Soul is Eternal. Our purpose should be to know our own Self thru Self Inquiry, basically through meditation.

There are some positive thinkers who do course correction in their lives while others do not give any credence to the changing TIME and the events which come their way without any warning to test our willpower/fighting power for survival. Factually, every year we’ve learning experiences, if we care to take them. In 2025, I had some good and not so good experiences.   These experiences have taught me how best to be adaptive to change as per situation and condition.

Some of the lessons which I have gleaned are enumerated in the succeeding paras.

• SPIRITUAL GROWTH FOR HOLISTIC GROWTH

Spiritual growth is to seek our connectivity with our inner self and then try seeking our connectivity with Higher Powers (God Energy). Spiritual growth also includes our march from simple understanding to higher understanding or awareness or realization to bring about maturity and connectivity with spiritual oriented thereby getting awareness besides enlightenment about Universe. All this becomes possible through sincere meditation on Higher Powers.

 OPPORTUNITY FOR SELF IMPROVEMENT

When we know and fully understand ins and outs of our SELF then we’ll know our potential and weaknesses. It also includes our personality, thoughts, habits, values motives, We can exert for turning our negativity into positivity, of course, with determined mindset and with God’s bountiful graces. In totality, it could be said that self–awareness or self–realization is to know ourselves objectively.

• SELF–AWARENESS GIVES US OPPORTUNITY FOR SELF IMPROVEMENT

When we know and fully understand ins and outs of our SELF then we’ll know our potential and weaknesses. It also includes our personality, thoughts, habits, values motives, We can exert for turning our negativity into positivity, of course, with determined mindset and with God’s bountiful graces. In totality, it could be said that self– awareness or self–realization is to know ourselves objectively.

• SAT, CHIT AND ANANDA

    SAT, CHIT ANANDA is a Sanskrit term telling us about  

ultimate reality (Brahman/Atma).

• A pure existence ( Sat).
•  Chit (Consciousness)
•  Bliss (Ananda).

–ATTACHMENT (MHO), DETACHMENT (ANASAKTI) LOVE (PREM), HUMILITY (VINAMIRTA), SINCERITY (IMANDARI), SIMPLICITY (SADHIGI), TRUTH (SAT),

• ATTACHMENT (MHO). Too much of attachment to the fruits of our Karma or Action makes us wayward and may not be helpful in attaining our coveted goal. Also, if we give more credence to material things, then, we would be working against the purpose of our existence.
• DETACHMENT (ANASAKTI). Detachment is attained through meditation or focused mindset. It is not much giving significance to the outcome but be focused on the mission accomplishment. Also, if we give too much importance to material things (impermanent ones) including our relatives, then, we would be disappointed when they mistreat us when we need them the most.
• LOVE (PREM). In essence, Love is essential for us. It is an emotional attachment for our love ones, for our parents, relatives and progenies. We can shower love for the animals or other animate things according to our inclination o choice.  Above all, LOVING GOD, thru meditation is our prime function in order to get His graces for His connectivity.
• HUMILITY (VINAMIRTA). Humility is the prime characteristic of a person with attained value system in life. Such a person speaks with refined language, his demeanor is outstanding with all he meets. He is not proud of his attainments or status.
• SINCERITY (IMANDAR). Those who are sincere in their work ethics and perform their duties with best of their knowledge and ability. They do not procrastinate. That is, their sincerity and honesty are above board.
• SIMPLICITY (SADHIGI). Simplicity is one of the best traits of a simple man. Such a person does not showcase his status or material prosperity. Simple living and high thinking is his principle in life.
• TRUTH (SAT). A state of being pure or without any blemishes. The truth could be proved any place or time. It cannot be disputed in any event. Its veracity is flawless and cannot be doubted.

SMILE ATTRACTS BUT FROWN REPULSES

It has been experienced that smile creates a positive emotion. We must have experienced the smile of a child, on observing the smile of a baby, we instinctively would like to reciprocate. What a feeling it creates, Contrary, a frown makes us repulsive and at times anger generating agent.

 PEACE OF MIND

Peace of mind is the state of mindset which creates positivity. When at peace, we would be able to transact our mission diligently by using our capacities bereft of any adverse or hostile environs.

FORGIVING & FORGETTING

Life is uncertain and in this uncertainty, sure enough, there are difference of opinion with our close relatives and friends on one pretext or other. These differences result in hurts creating a wedge in relationship. If these differences persist, then, our life becomes virtually hell. Wisdom is to sort out differences on the basis of give and take  and forget the contentious points and live happily.

IMPATIENCE & ANGER ARE BROTHERS IN ARM FOR OUR DOWNFALL

Impatient is opposite of patient. While acting impatiently, we shall not be functioning as per our capacities. Similar is the case for our anger. In both the states, we should not decide to transact any business deed since here we are not using our intelligence but disturbed mindset. Both these negative traits are not helpful in cultivating friendship.

FRUITS OF PATIENCE

It has rightly been said that patience has its own reward ultimately. A person with reserve of patience introspects about the proposal at hand and acts accordingly. He does not act in a huff.

RELIANCE ON BELIEF IN GOD & SELF

While we know ourselves fully, we know our abilities and shortcomings. This belief in us gives us huge dividends when we have belief in Almighty God.

WHAT YOU GIVE COMES BACK

We must have observed, if we are humble in our demeanor, in orders and deeds, then, everybody we meet reciprocates in the same sort of feelings. Karma philosophy too gives us the same advice. You give something to somebody in need, you’ll get the same or even more than what you’ve given to meet others need.

LOSING TEMPER DERAILS PEACEFUL JOURNEY OF OUR LIFE

Losing temper at the silliest pretext could spoil the relations we have cultivated over a period of time. A person with intemperate mindset cannot succeed in any venture since such a person loses his calm even with or without any reason.

UPS & DOWNS OF LIFE

Everyone experiences ups and downs in life. It may be in material world or health condition. It is not that all the people possess all the things they require at all the times. Then, we may not be successful in our business venture. Wheels of fortune sometimes goes up or down. It does not remain static. It all depends on our Karma.

REMAIN CALM & COMPOSED

There are good times and bad times also in the life of an individual. Nobody is immune to the sufferings; one may be due to afflictions of body and the other may be lack of monetary support. But we should remain calm and composed despite shortcomings.

STAY COOL NO CRIBBING IN ADVERSE SITUATION

There are adverse situations and conditions which may bedevil an individual but time factor will provide healing touch but in all the conditions, we’ve to remain cool. Cribbing in any way will not assuage our situation and condition. Staying cool in any environ will, in the long run,

TRAVELLING ON ROUGH ROADS GIVES US STAYING POWER

It should always be remembered that only staying power can weather the storm for us. Crying or creating scenes for getting sympathy will not help should never be forgotten.

I would like to invoke our CREATOR to create a most appropriate climate globally where there is no war between countries just for impermanent material things which could be procured but if lives are lost in war, then, it would be irretrievable, not just for the family but for the concerned country as a human resource. The land, material things will remain here only. Today, these are owned by someone and then tomorrow these material things would be owned by somebody else. In this TIME FACTOR plays a stellar role. For instance, ALEXANDER THE GREAT conquered many countries, accumulated immense wealth thru plunder but finally left for good with nothing at all at his final sojourn. Demon King Ravana, a Bhakta of Lord SHIVA, WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR DEATH AND SUBSEQUENTLY CREATION met a violent death at the hands of LORD RAMA after RAVANA committed a sinful and immoral KARMA of abducting Sita Maa with deception.

MY SINCERE PRAYER TO THE LORD JESUS CHRIST

In the midst of gathering in front of shops full of Christmas Trees, chocolate packets, cakes of different varieties and other sweets in attractive packets. The children were attracted by the idol of Santa with gifts. All this showcases, let it be any festival linked with any religion; our country celebrates the same with immense zeal and enthusiasm showcasing that the celebrations are all inclusive amongst the multicultural and multilingual society in BHARAT. I pray that this practice flourishes with the grace of God.

We wish that there would be peace and prosperity around the world.

Lord Jesus Christ, the most benevolent one I  pray, may  bestow sanity to the warring countries who are fighting with each other and causing deaths and destruction, thus creating disharmony. The continuing war between Russia and Ukraine.  I also pray for the minorities in Bangladesh to bestow wisdom to the majority for working with together for maintaining peace and bring Bangladesh back to normal.

Mesmerized by this Shining Star

Which rarely happens
Angels sang songs so melodious.
Shepherds played with utmost reverence.
Old in years the two Simeon & Anna saw their ambition fructified.
As they too had a glimpse of the Glorious One

His adaptive father Joseph
Taught Him the art of using
Tools of a carpenter
A manual labour so arduous by any reckoning
Resulting in sweating
By the rays of sun so searing.
The revered God’s Son
Worked tirelessly in the hot Sun!
Thence as he cometh
From the waters of Jordan
A voice so stimulating,
Cometh from Heaven
‘This is my beloved Son
In whom I am very pleased’
Thereafter Jesus went to the backwoods
Surprise of surprises of all!
To allow Satan to temp Him
To break the back of Satan.
He fasted for days forty,
And vanquished the Satan
With eternal will of God in the heaven
Then brimming with the Holy Sprit
He lived with the commoners
For three long years.
John recorded Jesus as the Son of God
Who raised even the dead to live again
Made the blinds to see again
Lames to walk again
Demons not to appear again
Came to the succour of heartbroken.
During mighty storms, so severe
With a few loaves and fish
Made food sufficient for five thousands!
Believe – we have to, as it really happened!
Since He is sent by our dearest God
As a Saviour
As His Incarnate,
The All Knowing
The All Powerful Being.
Then on a Thursday Night,
He meets his followers
In the city of Jerusalem
On an occasion so solemn
He announced
It is ordained that He may die
For those He loved so dearly
And told them to remember his association with them
And also promised to come back
For their sake!
He spent time in the garden of Gethsemane
Prayed to the Divine Providence.
No case was found against Jesus
By those who tried Him for his faults so superficial
Even then he was crucified on Friday
He departed this life
For He loved us all
After when He was dead,
His power was proclaimed.
By the happenings most unexplained.
On the mornning of Sunday
He rose from the dead
Appeared to Mary
And apostles and a huge gathering,
He gave the message of love.
Goes to prove without doubt.
He remains invincible in both the states.

THE LOVE & LIGHT SPREAD BY LORD JESUs CHRIST SHOULD GUIDE US TO LEAD OUR LIFE WITH LOVE AND DEVOTION.

We remember and celebrate this pious day, without forgetting that Lord Jesus Christ was crucified for us only so that God’s creations spread the message of love amongst themselves for peace and harmony while living a purposeful life.

SIGNIFICANCE OF CHRIST CONSCIOUSNESS
MAY THE LOVE AND LIGHT PREVAIL FOR EVER IN US HUMANS

When we are determined to perform something for others without any selfish motive, it means we have reached to the realm of Christ Consciousness. When we perform our duties towards our family, it means we are performing our duty towards our close relatives which anyhow is our responsibility and cannot shun that in any case. But when we enhance our outreach to our neighbours and share their pains and sufferings then it means we are realizing the importance of Christ Consciousness. Subsequently, if it goes beyond neighbourhood to society and even in wider sphere then we are totally immersed in this noble cause.

Essentially, when we do think and act logically and are having the same noble idea for others then we are in that realm. This is possible if we expand our consciousness by being empathetic to all; with whom we are having relationship or do not have such relations. Both of these people should be dear to us. This expanded consciousness expands ourselves to higher horizons. Jesus Christ did not differentiate between his relatives and others. All in all He eyed everybody – differentiating nobody based on any consideration.

While we are having compassion for others, it means, we are beginning to expand our consciousness. Jesus Christ’s assertion: ‘Bless them that curse you’ stands good in this scheme of things. He even had good words for those who stood against Him. He said: Father, forgive them for they know not what they do. God forgives our faults, then, why we cannot have sympathy and cultivate helping nature for our brethren? Having done that, we can expand our consciousness to sub-consciousness and super-consciousness through our positive thoughts and actions and even manifest to Divine Consciousness. This state could be achieved by knowing the importance of Christ Consciousness.

Jesus Christ was the one who had won victory against material consciousness. He exists in the hearts and minds of His followers. He said, ‘I do nothing for myself, but as my Father hath taught me.’ Christians including numberless others who have resolute belief in His preaching shun delusions and follow His ideals. His presence is felt through his teachings. Those who have self awareness or self realization know that in every speck of cosmos Christ Consciousness exists but only those who have vision can experience this. Christ Consciousness is a part of Cosmic Consciousness and it should never be lost sight of by us humans. It is all inclusive.

JESUS CHRIST’S TEACHINGS

His teachings are universal in nature and are more relevant now than ever since our world is in dire need of harmony and prosperity to go hand in hand. There is a definitive imprint of His teachings on the psyche of people and that is why His influence remains centuries after centuries. Those sincere devotees who have attained certain level of spirituality can see the Divine Vision after their consciousness is more awakened.

His teachings are very exhaustive, if we care to follow the ones mentioned below, we can make our life more purposeful with love suffusing for our brethren:-

(a) We should never forget that God loves us immensely and we should always love our fellow beings. What is the meaning of word God – God is love?

(b) Changing ourselves by adopting righteousness approach. Developing the traits of soul consciousness through meditation.

(c) All can learn to love God through the medium of our thoughts, deeds and other mediums.

(d) We can connect with God through the medium of love.

(e) Love is an emotion, a selfless feelings for others and totally dedicate yourself, your thoughts and actions to the object of your love.

(f) All should learn to love others and subsequently direct their love to God. To develop love is very essential for spiritual upward journey.

(g)Those who are having the love of God for all can comprehend the meaning of their lives and also the true meaning of God.
Life bereft of love all the knowledge has no meaning at all.

(h) We have to live according to His wishes through self-sacrificing, empathy and selfless attitude.

(i) Divine Fire is the creative power of God and an individual should aspire for this Divine Spark.

(j) Jesus Christ preached the importance of having compassion for our fellow beings. He taught that kindhearted feeling should always be there even for all including our enemies.

May the teachings/messages, of Lord Jesus Christ are eternal and universal indeed. These should remain etched in our memories and guide us to lead our lives with a lot of love, empathy and selflessness. His message of spreading love and light should inspire the general masses for peace and prosperity for all.

OUR KARMA DETERMINES OUR DHARMA

Dharma is the science of values we hold dear for our existence

Its practice unfolds the human essence and excellence

Besides, Divine potential in all manifestations

Which we all follow to seek our Creator’s connection

By all religions, caste, creed, colour and without any corrosion.

It is an observance of spiritual maturity

And then maintenance of devotion and piety

The norms of behaviour & attitude in the performance of role we play

As both the spouses, as our pious Karma or duty

With absolute commitment, with single-mindedness and sheer humility

As success in life does not come just accidentally

A lot of perseverance and persistence is needed for an effort to fructify

But bereft of much credence on the outcomes of our labour unreasonably.

Following laws devised by statute, we perform our Karmic Deeds

Then follow universal laws and religious laws which have stood the test of time

And has undergone evolution over a period of time

Detached from the confusion and disorder rampant 

With cumbersome rituals which made complex the Dharma

Thus we ought to follow Dharma by rightly performing our Karma.

Following laws of proper behaviour sincerely

For living virtuously and morally

While performing our duty truthfully

Holding and following the right conduct, customs and traditions religiously

With purity of mind and bod with utmost humility

In order to cleanse our body mind and soul; a complete purity

Observing ethical and moral turpitude in all our Karmic deeds

While performing multifarious responsibilities

As a member of a family

As a member of a human community

Or as a law-abiding citizen of a country

Or for those matter citizens of all the world societies

Making it the law of the universe ultimately

Laws which are in sync with the brain and heart jointly

Thence ensuring uprightness in thoughts and deeds purity

Along with observing the laws of Mother Nature to ensure stability

Considering that nothing goes amiss accidentally

The overall purpose is to establish harmony

Between laws of the land and cosmic principles willfully

Linking cause and effect to work decisively

Besides venerating God deferentially

As a pious offering to the God reverentially.

For growth & development of its citizens
Since when the environment is neat & clean
It provides opportunities for a holistic growth
For its citizens.

Where the citizens are free to vote to choose their representatives
And form the Government for assisting the electorates wherever needed.

Where choice lies with the individual concerned
For enhancing pursuit of education
According to citizens’ needs and aspirations
Thence get a career as per edu attained thru hard work.

Where free environs help tread on the path
As per his conscience
Dear to the individual’s personal growth
Herein the citizens have the freedom to eke out a living legitimately
For himself and members of his family.

Where an individual pursues
The religious belief of his choice
For connectivity with the Almighty God
Bereft of any fear or restraint.

Where an individual and society’s growth is interwind for a common purpose
With Nodal Centres of State playing a stellar role
For their growth and development.

Where democratic rights of its citizens
Is ensured to fullfilment their wants
With guarantees ensured by the State
In the form of doles when and where needed.

Where dignity and integrity of the citizens
Are significantly cared for growth in every sphere where needed.

Where individual’s inner freedom is ensured
Along with forward movement of the community without bias.

Where everybody participates in growth of self and the society as a whole
With State ensures to provide guidance when needed.

Where there is freedom of speech is ensured and respected
With accountability and responsibility fixed.

Freedom don’t exist
When……

When everything is done to please the rulers in autocratic rules
Also ruler’s rules obeyed without reservation; ‘mayway or highway’ percept
Disobeying them brings out harshest punishment.

When each community differs in their perception
And has no meeting point in culture or tradition
With no point of jointness but with racial overtones bereft of freedom.

When majority and minority communities
Have their own axe to grind in all the behaviour patterns
The dominant community look down upon other, suspicion abounding.

ESSSENCE OF FREEDOM IN THOUGHT AND ACTION

Freedom is a multifaceted concept. Its meaning is different at different time and space.  It means, liberty to think and act without coercion or restriction or restraint, fear or due to outer and inner conflicts. Under duress or under fear, our resolve to transact anything tangibly gets weakened. Freedom from hunger and want too is added to these. Then, we’ve freedom to think and act according to our requirement without restraints. Herein, choice, with some restraints, in thoughts and actions too are taken into account.

One whose actions are fundamentally based on negative emotions act or react irrationally may prove counterproductive ultimately. If given too much freedom of expression or action thereof, an irresponsible person may take this lightly and criticize even the very fundamentals of the country of their origin thus creating unfounded situations and conditions. Therefore, freedom has to be dovetailed with responsibility too.

The freedom of action is independent of inner or outer influences. These influences may be positive or negative. Positive influences, enhance our sphere of influence in the community we are living while negative influences limit the growth and development of the citizens.  

FREEDOIM AS SPIRITUAL AWAKENING

According to Vedic perspective, freedom is not defined by what you can do but more so, whether you are going to be free from any reaction to your course of action. If you are not bound by any of your actions, I think that is really a condition of being free to experience freedom.

For experiencing freedom, we’ve to use these freedoms with humility, simplicity and diplomatically. For using these rights logically, we’ve not to be reactive in any way or use our emotions negatively.

When too much freedom or unchecked freedom is granted, then, it proves to be counterproductive. We’ve the example of Prince Dharyodhana (in Great Epic Mahabharta), who enjoyed too much freedom (in thoughts and actions), acted with irresponsibility and was instrumental in unleashing Kauravas and Pandava battle which resulted in deaths and destruction of his entire family. This proves that too much or unfettered freedom could prove to be disastrous not only for the person concerned but also for his nears and dears.

OUR FREEDOMS AND THEIR SIGNIFICANCE

LIVING WITH DIGNITY BEREFT OF ANY RESTRICTION

In a free society, an individual enjoys personal growth and development with dignity with autonomy of choice and inner liberation. Whatever he/she does or wants to do could be done by him/her under rules codified by the country he/she is living. Herein responsibility and respect for the individual too is important.

THINKING AND ACTING IN ACCORDANCCE WITH OUR CONSCIENCE

When we think and act according to our principle which we cherish. The basic pillar which stands out is while our purity of thoughts and actions are based on freedom bereft of any inner conflicts or outer pressures and are in sync with our conscience.

It has been mentioned in Bhagwad Gita: The wise living entity’s pure consciousness becomes covered by his eternal enemy in the form of lust (or intense desire  which is never satisfied and which burns like fire.

INNER FREEDOM

Factually, when a thought is originated from the core of our heart, it has finer-prints of ethics and rationality as a cornerstone of positive thought percept. In other words, inner freedom indicates that whatever thought is originated from heart has positive outcome.

FREEDOM & OUTER INFLUENCES

Our experience indicates that when individual thoughts are not based on our freewill then we may or may not act freely. These influences may be adverse circumstances in our family and the society in which we are living and interacting. Here, we’re constrained to change our thought percepts according to our own choice. This may be positive or negative since we do not have control over outer influences vis a vis own thought and the action we contemplate to take but our inability to do so happens.

INTEGRITY IN OUR FREEDOM

When our thoughts and actions are in sync with our unquestionable sincerity and honesty, then, there is no constraint from any quarter. In such a scenario, we’ve freedom of action.

AUTONOMY OF CHOICE

When we’ve freedom to modulate or change our thoughts and actions thereto, then, our freedom to act is not restricted. But this freedom of choice too should be within limit. Care ought to be exercised that our choice of freedom should not come in the way of other citizens.

EQUALITY BEFORE LAW OF LAND

Everybody is given equality before law of land and any transgression done by an individual is dealt with accordingly so that the same is not repeated.

AUTONOMY OF LIVING WITH PERSONAL VALUES

In democratic societies, its citizens have the needed autonomy to living under the rules legislated by the Government with personal values he/she wants to living without let or hindrance.

Aside from the freedoms which every civilized society ensures for its citizens, it is paramount that the citizens follow the rules for its personal growth and development. The Government concerned also ensures its citizens good health, laws are legislated so that the citizens maintain good relationship with fellow beings, the citizens are having freedom to ack out a living for themselves with the profession or career according to their capacity.

With freedom for healthy growth of an individual, there is also the responsibility of the individual to follow certain rules for healthy growth of himself individually and the society as a whole collectively.

Hence, for enjoying freedoms in the form of rights, the individual has to live within the ambit of rules and responsibly follow those rules in letter and spirit.

RESPONSIBILITY WITH FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND ACTION

Whatever we speak or act, it should be done with self-examination or introspection since irresponsibility of thought and action leads to undesirable consequences.

PARTICIPATION AND EQUALITY

Freedom of speech should be the guiding force, that is, when one is speaking, he/she should be allowed to speak and then only it should be responded. One way speech has no substance at all would prove to be  a meaningless exercise.

INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM

An individual should be allowed to air his/her view without any qualms or restraints. Care should be exercised that others independence is not tempered in any way.

FREEDOM IS INFLUENCED BY SOCIETY

It has been experienced that our freedom of speech is influenced by the society in which we are living. A well-informed society or educated society will have good manners and etiquettes thus will have lasting influence on us; the way we conduct or act. A child brought up in abusive environs will learn the language he is living.

FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS

There are some countries wherein their citizens are granted freedom expression, freedom to follow his/her faith or belief, religion, freedom to get education an individual needs, freedom to earn his/her living by legitimate means.  But these freedoms too have some limits. Nobody should transgress other citizens right. Your autonomy of freedom stops where and when the rights of others follow. Fundamental rights have some restrictions or restraints which citizens have to follow. That is; your freedom stops where my nose starts.

NO FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS IN AUTOCRATIC SOCIETIES

It has been norm in the autocratic rules or under military ruled states, rulers do not allow even a modicum of freedom to its citizens for their personal growth and development. Whatever ruler opines, the citizens have to follow without let or hindrance otherwise law of land will award punishment, as per rules codified by the ruler. No immunity is given under any circumstance. In this sort of society, personal growth in education, earning wealth or following his/her religion too are restricted. That powers of individual freedom for growth in many spheres of life are curtailed or restricted.[A1] [A2] [A3] 

FREEDOM FROM WANT

While living in a civilized society, it is essential that its needs are fulfilled. These essential needs are the food and shelter security, security of its citizens from internal and external aggressions. When there is a need to provide food security to people living under duress or living below poverty line, this community is given free ration. This sort of security is being provided to people through ration cards etc. by Govt of India.

Every citizen is free to seek its personal growth in education according to his/her capacity and there is no hindrance or restriction. Also, a person, in free society can ack out a living for himself and his family within the ambit of laws codified without restrictions.

MISREPRESENDING OR MISUNDERSTANDING OF FREEDOM

When we are not able to understand or misrepresent or misinterpret the exact meaning of the constitutional provisions of fundamental rights of freedom, then, some of us may use these rights wrongly. By so doing, such people may take undue advantage of these rights. Hence, every right of freedom should have responsibility to use these in right spirit.

POLISHED LANGUAGE OUGHT TO BE USED WHILE PROFESSING OUR RIGHTS OF SELF EXPRESSION

It is a fact that freedom of speech or expression with other freedoms are necessary for a healthy growth of a society but this hardly means that we have unlimited freedom to criticize everything under the sun. For self –expression to be value–based, it is necessary that no foul language or blunt language or undemocratic language should be used to browbeat fellow citizens. Therefore, diplomatic language, with some restraints, when and where needed should be used to convey our viewpoints logically.
