Hello and welcome to the final chapter of Generation One! First things first, I have some unhappy news to start with. I was playing on a new computer and it had started crashing and having all sorts of random problems, so I backed up my saves and returned it for a slightly better computer. Forgetful me, however, forgot to backup my screenshots. Luckily, I only had 10-15 pictures for this new chapter. Unfortunately, I lost those 10-15 pictures. So I’m going to give you a brief update to catch you all up (you really didn’t miss much).
- Seth accomplished the first phase of his aspiration by successfully kissing 10 times and going on 2 dates. He accomplished all of this with his girlfriend Trisha. [I had adorable pictures of them 😦 ]
- Willow has been working hard at her garden, but falling very behind in school. She was very close to getting a D when I chose to Study Hard for a test on a pop up. She is also on the second phase of her aspiration.
- Reid has been…slightly neglected. He has, however, been doing quite well in school. Both Seth and Reid always get their homework completed and manage to stay in fair moods. Reid hasn’t worked any further on his aspiration, yet.
- Phoenix has been trying to get that next work promotion, but it hasn’t happened yet. Everytime I wasn’t looking, she would run around hugging all of her children. It was the most adorable thing ever.
Sadly, with all of the craziness, I completely spaced that we had two birthdays coming up. I started back at my legacy with a very sad founder returning from work so that she could age up. I felt awful! The looks she was giving me didn’t help matters, either.
I gave her an elder appropriate makeover in attempts to cheer her up, but apparently it didn’t work. Don’t you like your new look, Phee?
Phoenix: Yeah, sure, but…but…I’m old.
Truth be told, I was pretty sad as well. I had spent so much time focusing on the kids that I had somewhat totally neglected Phoenix’s aspiration. She hadn’t even gotten past the first tier of it. And of course, the loss of the founder is one of the most difficult. With that gray hair came the knowledge that Phee was living on borrowed time.
But alas, a legacy must go on! The very next morning, it was time for our eldest to age up. He hadn’t gotten past the second tier of his aspiration, so Willow continues to be in the lead for heir. I have decided that the easiest (and fastest) way to determine who becomes heir is to go by what they have accomplished by the time they age up to Young Adult. This way, I should have a decent idea of who will become heir without waiting for them all to age up (assuming they are close in age). Granted, this may not always work, but it is my method for now. This means that Seth is out of the running. Sorry Seth.
Seth: I’m good with it. I don’t have to live in this tiny house with my mom and siblings for the rest of my life. I’d call it a win.
Fair point.
And with that, I present you the still entirely cocky Seth Sage! He rolled the adult trait of Creative. This family is full of creativity. I think it’s pretty fitting.
Despite being out of the running, I decided to work on Seth’s aspiration some more anyway. I wanted to complete as many as I could before he was moved out into the cold, lonely world. First, he needed to go on three dates with a bronze medal or better.
Check. Check. And check. He actually got gold medals on all three, putting him at five gold date medals. And yes, those are three different women, because the next thing he had to do for his aspiration was to dump two people. I loved that he had been with Trisha since high school, so I couldn’t have him dump her. So I found two very willing ladies and had him ask them both to be his girlfriend. They eagerly said yes. There was actually a hilarious moment where he was on a date with one of them and the other two showed up. I thought that I had gotten a picture, but I must have been in too much of a panic.
In the meantime, Phoenix got a promotion! She actually reached the part where she got to choose which branch to take. She chose eSport Gamer. She had to place in a gaming competition, so she went to work straight away.
Phoenix: And you thought you were a good healer in WoW. You ain’t got nothin on me!
Hey! I am a good healer! But anyway, moving on…She placed third, but placing was placing!
And then our first emergency happened. I’m amazed that I got pictures because I was kind of freaking out. Seth hadn’t prepared much other than salad growing up, so he apparently had no idea how to properly make Scrambled Eggs. He over peppered them and then he caught himself on fire.
It was a good thing that he was decent at working the fire extinguisher, because apparently Phoenix was more concerned with saving herself. She completely ignored my direction to put him out.
Phoenix: I’m too young to die!!!
Right, because Seth isn’t. Mother of the Year Award right here.
Anyway, back to part two of Seth’s aspiration. Next up was the hard part. I have never been any good at playing “player” type sims, and to be honest, Seth was not a very good player.
Seth: But, but look at her face. She’s so happy. I don’t want to do this.
You have to.
Seth: Look, I’m sorry. You’re a wonderful girl and all. I like you, I do. It’s just…well…those red bracelets really clash with your purple dress. I just don’t think I can be with a girl that doesn’t know how to properly accesorize.
Forgotten Name Girl: Whaaaat? *Sobs*
Seth: Ugh. I hate myself. That breakup was devastating. Did you see that broken heart above her head? I can’t live with myself!
Seth: Please forgive me. I mean, I don’t want to get back together or anything, but please continue to be my completely platonic friend with bad fashion taste.
Forgotten Name Girl: Sure.
Relationships are kind of odd in Sims 4. Their romance bar is bright red, but their friendship bar wasn’t affected at all. I would have thought that would have taken a hit as well, but she called him a few days later to hang out. Then again, maybe she’s just holding out hope. Either way, breakups: 1/2.
Being a gloomy sim, Seth took these breakups extra hard. Thankfully, pep talks work wonders. I sent him to give himself a couple of pep talks and called his other girlfriend over.
She cried.
Then he cried.
But he got over it when I told him he didn’t have to dump Trisha. Breakups: 2/2. Unfortunately, the third tier of his aspiration required kissing ten different sims and dating five (I think). He wasn’t going to have time to accomplish all of that, and being a gloomy sim, I was afraid the stress might kill him. I decided to give up on the point we could have earned for his aspiration and let him have what he truly wanted.
I quickly checked to make sure that Trisha lived with other sims so that we could bring her in for $0, and we lucked out!
Seth: Oh Trisha, I never knew what I truly wanted until I met you. Well, there was that phase after I met you where I still wasn’t sure…and there was a lot of stress and crying and other women, but now I know –
Trisha: Did you say other women?
Seth: Oh, uh…well you know I have a sister and I live with my mom. They’re always crying and…stuff.
Smooth, Seth, real smooooth.
But it worked! I love how Seth is doing a little fist pump. So cute!
Even more joyous (sorry Seth) was that it was finally Willow’s birthday! She hadn’t fulfilled her teen/adult aspiration yet, but she was still in the lead unless Reid could complete his aspiration AND max a skill. Willow completed the Social skill as a child, so she was even further in the lead.
Willow: I wish….for an extremely hot man to marry and have many adorable babies with.
And a post makeover shot! Willow rolled the adult trait of Music Lover, so in combination with her Botanist aspiration, I thought an earthy look would suit her. I have decided to let her pursue her aspiration for now and find her a job after she completes it. She will most likey go into the entertainer career since it fits so well with her Music Lover and Creative traits.
We immediately invited one of her many childhood guy friends over to romance. They had been keeping in touch in hopes that he would be good spouse material. This was when a few things went wrong.
- He was still a teenager. We could have waited for him, but they hadn’t even been romantic as teens, so it almost seemed pointless.
- He lived with other sims, so he wasn’t going to bring in any money to help redo the house.
- What the heck was he wearing? He seemingly had a Grimmy obsession.
That put us back at the drawing board. I was relieved that Willow had the bonus Socially Gifted trait. We were going to need it. She headed off to the nightclub and I had flashbacks of her childhood. She practically had a harem in no time.
I seriously need to know her secret. But anywho, it turned out that the one in the fedora had been a childhood friend. We considered him, but they seemed to have some opposing views.
The one creepily standing behind her, however, was quite promising. He wasn’t going to bring a mix into the gene pool (but seriously, out of over ten men that she has met, only one of them didn’t have brown eyes. And they ALL had dark hair. What gives?), but he was going to bring in money.
Anyway, we both drooled a bit, and then she boldly decided to test the waters.
She hooked him like a trout. I’m not sure if that sounds even remotely romantic, but I am kind of hungry now..
But I digress. Willow was exhausted and had to head home before too much wooing happened. The next morning, Seth invited Trisha over and asked her to move in. She was more than happy to, and they were just too excited to wait to have a formal wedding. They eloped right then and there. The way he pulled out the ring and put it on her finger made me giggle.
Seth: Yep, I’ve still got it.
Oh that face. Someone is pleased with themself.
They rushed off to (creepily) celebrate their wedding in Phoenix’s bed. It was the only double on the lot. I guess they couldn’t wait.
And this happened! Trisha and Seth will be moving out shortly, and I’m still fuzzy on how story progression works in Sims 4, so I went ahead and let them get started on their family. Even if we never see him/her, I want to know that Willow has a niece or nephew floating around out in Simland.
Trisha couldn’t be happier. So without further ado, I introduce you to Post Makeover Trisha . She is only one Sim day younger than Seth. She won’t be counting toward our points or sticking around long, so I haven’t taken note of her traits, but I do know her aspiration is Chief of Mischief.
That night, Willow invited her crush, Frederick, over to hang out. We had checked to make sure that he lived alone, so I gave her the go ahead!
The way he looked at her was so adorable, and of course I had to giggle at the fact that Trisha decided to bring out a toy and join the conversation.
After moving into Willow’s room for some privacy, things heated up quickly.
Upon becoming an official item, we moved Frederick and his $20,000 in. Of course, it was at this point in writing my update that I went onto Pinstar’s site and realized the rules had just changed. I have no idea how to do a money cheat that reduces money, so I’m going to let it slide for this generation since I moved him in before I saw the rule change. All future move ins will come with nothing. Since most legacies I’ve been reading are already on Gen 2 or beyond with the old rules, I don’t feel so bad.
Willow: I want to remember this moment FOREVER.
Maybe next time with a little less crazy?
Much better. Aren’t they adorable?
It was at this point that I decided it was time for a new house. Reid wasn’t looking likely for beating out Willow for heir with only two days until he aged up, so I basically had the couple for my next generation. With the move in of Frederick, we had $35,000 in the bank to redecorate. And this is where I went a little house crazy. It’s those new premade rooms! They’re so pretty and shiny and I had to match and have the right colors and….next thing I knew I had a fairly finished bottom floor and an awkward disconnected upstairs. I also had less than $2,000 in the bank, so let’s hope bills wait to come until after someone gets a promotion.
Anywho, I present to you the brand new Sage Manor. Picures of the outside will come once there is wallpaper on the outside. We ran out of money for even that. -_-
But moving, on, I present to you a post makeover Frederick Silva-Sage. His aspiration is to be a Chief of Mischief and his traits are Foodie, Active, Loves Outdoors, and the bonus trait of Dastardly. To go with his Foodie trait I had him take up the Cooking career.
He really is very good looking. Even if I don’t get a variation of genes, their babies will still be completely adorable. This is also where I should point out that, upon moving him in, we learned that he was only 5 days from becoming an elder. That just wasn’t going to do. While a male could still help with the baby making process as an elder, I didn’t want Generation 3 to lose their dad before they even got to know him, so I used half of Seth’s aspiration points to buy a Youth Elixer. Seth was moving out soon, anyway, so I didn’t want to waste those points.
Frederick: Well this doesn’t look unsafe at all. This beverage just magically appeared in my pocket and looks radioactive.
It’ll make you younger, Freddy, do it for your children.
Freddy: I don’t have any children.
Just drink it!
Freddy: I really hope I don’t get radiation poisoning from this.
With his newly found youth, he and Willow had some alone time. Originally I thought I was allowing them to celebrate their new marriage, but then I remembered that they weren’t married yet. Whoops! Apparently I need a third cup of coffee tonight. But it all worked out, because look at how happy Freddy was about it! He’s kind of adorable.
The next morning, Willow wasn’t feeling well so I sent her to find out if my suspicions were correct. We all know what this means! Generation 3 (assuming Reid fails) is on their way!
I had planned to have a big, beautiful wedding for Willow, but with funds running low it is looking unlikely. She’s happy with or without an elaborate celebration, though, as she found love and has a child and niece/nephew on the way.
I apologize for such a long and picture heavy update, but I wanted to catch you all up. Tune in next time to *officially* find out who will be heir, see how Reid turns out, and to meet the babies of Gen 3! Â Thanks for reading and happy simming!!
