Hello! I’m Eleanor Warren-Thomas PhD, a conservation scientist focussed on avoiding tropical forest and biodiversity loss.
I am a Lecturer at Bangor University, Wales, working within Conservation@Bangor. My research focuses on avoiding tropical forest loss, supporting biodiversity using agroforestry, and the role of sustainable supply chain initiatives.

I held a NERC-IIASA Collaborative Research Fellowship at Bangor University, Wales, working with the Biodiversity and Natural Resources program at IIASA, from 2020-2024. I previously worked as a Research Associate at CEH Bangor and as a post-doc at the University of York with Professor Jane Hill. I conducted my PhD research with Professors Paul Dolman and David Edwards at the University of East Anglia, UK.
Take a look at my research page to find out more about my projects and publications. For news articles about my work on biodiversity and rubber plantations, as well as some blog posts, check out the blogs etc. page.

The photos page is full of images from research trips to Asia and the Americas… posted up so that they finally see the light of day!
