“What should we do to improve our IT system?” asked Sheikh Imthathaau during the forum’s Q&A session.
“It should begin with a clear and dedicated strategic plan for IT enhancement. From there, we can identify the specific IT modules that need to be developed or upgraded.
This is exactly what Lembaga Zakat Negeri Kedah (LZNK) did five years ago, and the next phase of our 2025–2030 strategic plan will kick off in 2025,” I explained to them.
Among the key recommendations to improve zakat management in the Maldives is to start by preparing a comprehensive strategic planning document.
This proposal was also strongly supported by Prof. Dr. Baharom during his session.
When this matter was shared with Dato’ Sheikh Zakaria Othman, he immediately agreed to assist Maldives Zakat House in formulating their strategic plan.
It was also proposed to the CEO of Maldives Zakat House and the Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs that the theme for INZAC 2026 should focus on strategic planning.
This is expected to strengthen the strategic direction of Maldives Zakat House for the next five years, from 2026 to 2030.
