Sleepy and Cup of Coffee
Now I’m in Library because I want to read some book. But somehow, I feel sleepy. While trying to grab a coffee from the machine, my money was not enough.

Anthony Fajri Returns
Since working in this country, I’ve never went back to Indonesia. So then I decide to go to Indonesia in the end of the year.
After looking at the company’s holiday, then I decide to be in Indonesia from 29th December 2006 till 2nd Januari 2007. I’ll celebrate Hari Raya Idul Adha in Indonesia.
Actually, I want to go to Yogyakarta. But then I think it’s better to go to Yogyakarta next time, because I only have 4 days. If I have to go to Yogyakarta, I can’t get the airline ticket at the 29th December, because there’s no direct flight from this country to Yogyakarta.
Then I asked my friend to recommend me a good travel agents. After some telephones surveys, I got :
– Adam Air : S$355,-
– ValuAir : S$305,-
– Luthansa : S$215,- excluding tax (total : $300)
Then my friend told me a good and cheap travel agent. It’s Zuji. I got the Garuda Ticket just for S$91 returns. The detail of the ticket prices are shown bellos.

Making the FreeBSD LiveCD
How to make a FreeBSD LiveCD (only supported by FreeBSD 4, Because the FreeBSD 5 kernel doesn’t support. For FreeBSD 6, I haven’t tried before)
Preparation :
- Internet connection to install livecd program
- Installation FreeBSD 4 DD
- CDRW as well as blank CD
- a cup of coffee, better if serve with snack
#cd /usr/ports/sysutils/livecd
#make install clean
- To configure
#cd /usr/local/livecd
#./livecd.sh
- This display will appear
Choose the language, then press OK
- The next display looks like this
This is the option for live.sh file location. Just OK.
- Next screen will be like this :

Fill in the location where will we install the binary application of operating system which is will be used of LiveCD. Choose partition with high disc capacity. Then choose OK.
- The next screen will be like this.

This option is the location of the iso file will be created. Type the directory and press OK. please consider the free disc space of the partition.
- The next screen looks like this :

Choose YES ![]()
- Next!

If you have a CDR/CDRW, please choose YES.
- The next screen looks like this :

The option shows the device name for CDR/CDRW. To check the device name, follow these steps:
#dmesg|grep cd
#acd0: DVD-R at ata1-master PIO4
#cd /dev
#ls|grep acd0
acd0a
acd0c
- The last step is the summary of all stepsh :

Choose YES because this is just a review for all setting. If the setting is misconfigure, press control-c, then remove the file : /usr/local/livecd/config dan /usr/local/livecd/config.ok and rerun the application.
- Then, we will see this screen:

Do each steps from top to bottom. If you don’t have a CDR, ignore step #7, and the result will be an ISO file.
These are the explanations of each steps.
- Create Folder : to create a directory/folder which we have defined before. For this example, the directory is /home/livecd. If the directory is already created before, the LiveCD application will remove the existing directory.
- Install Binary Files : to copy some binary files from the CD to the LiveCD directory (as defined in the step #1) as well as kernel source. Before running this step, don’t forget to insert the FreeBSD Installation CD in the CD drive.
- Create Kernel : To compile the kernel with root device = CD (/dev/acd0c – depend on setting). If you want to modify the kernel, modify before this step.
- Change files : To copy some files from our FreeBSD into the LiveCD directory. If you want to modify some settings, modify after this step.
- Install Package on LiveCD : To install the FreeBSD package. If you want to make a LiveCD with X-Window application, configure in this step. menginstall package FreeBSD. Apabila ingin membuat LiveCD dengan X-Window. If you want to do furhter configuration (for example for router), do after this step.
- Create ISO : To create the ISO files based on the LiveCD directory (step#1)
- Burn CD : To burn the ISO file into the media (CD/DVD)
- EXIT : exit
So then, you have Your-nameBSD LiveCD![]()
PS : If you made a LiveCD for router, please mail me. Because I want to discuss about the performance. (For now, I dont have some server to do some experiments). Thanks

Teen, 17, first to be charged with unauthorised
There’s a funny article (for me) in straits times, saturday Nov 11th 2006. Here’s the article. (you need login to read the article in the straits times’ website)
Teen, 17, first to be charged with unauthorised
wireless Net access
By Chua Hian Hou
A 17-YEAR-OLD polytechnic student has become the first
person here to be charged with piggybacking on someone
else’s wireless Internet connection.
Garyl Tan Jia Luo was accused yesterday of using a
laptop computer to gain unauthorised access to a home
wireless network on May 13 this year.
If convicted, Tan faces up to three years in jail and
fines of up to $10,000 under Section 6(1)(a) of the
Computer Misuse Act.
Tan was released on $6,000 bail and is scheduled to
appear at the Subordinate Courts on Wednesday.
Court documents did not describe the circumstances in
which Tan was arrested, but The Straits Times
understands that a neighbour near his Casuarina Walk
home had lodged a complaint against him.
While there are no statistics on how commonplace the
practice of piggybacking unsecured home wireless
networks is, networking firm Cisco System’s spokesman,
Mr Rayson Cheo, said it is probably quite widespread
here.
Most modern notebook computers and personal digital
assistants (PDAs) have the ability to sniff out
unsecured networks and hop online for free with just a
few clicks.
There are numerous guides online that describe how to
do this and the low cost of wireless networking
equipment means that most HDB or condominium blocks
have unprotected networks users can log on to.
Said Mr Cheo: ‘People assume, wrongly, that since it
is there, it is okay to use it.’
Mr Aloysius Cheang, the chairman of local infocomm
security association, the Special Interest Group in
Security and Information Integrity, said: ‘Most people
probably do it because it is convenient, or because
they are cheap and want free Internet.
‘But, for some, it is because they want to do
something illegal like defaming someone or downloading
pirated MP3s, and they don’t want the activities
traced back to their own network.’
In the online world, there are even special terms for
it, like ‘wardriving’ and ‘Wi-Fi mooching’.
The problem, said lawyer Bryan Tan, is that while most
people know that mooching is not quite legitimate,
they probably do not know that it can be treated as a
serious offence.
‘Blinkered by the convenience and allure of ?free
Internet’, people don’t realise that mooching is the
virtual equivalent of trespassing,’ he added.
Likewise, many users do not seem to realise that they
can block moochers simply by installing a password on
their Internet connections.
For most users, the only indication they get that
someone is mooching is when their connection speed
slows down, though Mr Cheo said software tools are
available for download that can track who is using a
network and what they are doing on it.
While the case is the first of its kind here, there
have been at least two similar arrests and convictions
in the United States.
In some countries like Holland, Mr Tan added, Wi-Fi
network owners can even be held liable by the courts
for crimes committed on their unprotected networks.
Be Myself
I think it’s difficult to be my self. When somebody gets his success, we want follow his way. Sometime, the wish to follow his way becomes the ambition to be more than him.
That ambition is normal since normal people has a wish. That ambition becomes not good if the way to get the ambition is not fair enough. The simply wish becomes a not-fair ambition which allow anything to make the ambition possible.
I always try to be myself. I do not want to be affected by somebody. I do not want to be like any other. It doesn’t mean i want to be different, but I want to be myself. If what I do is similar to somebody, it is not because i follow him/her.
That’s why, if somebody ask something personal to me (for example: current job, etc), I will not answer. That’s because I want everybody knows me not because of what I am, who I am, but because of what I produce, what’s my idea, my writing, etc.
Yeah.. I just want to be myself.
Firefox AS Number Extension
Finally, Internet Business Solution AG released Firefox AS Number Extension 1.0-beta-8 which is compatible to Firefox 2.0.
Wait.. it is said that the release date was Oct 24th 2006. Hehehe so it must be a “Basbang” post.
