Adam’s Peak, anyone knows about this place? Adam’s Peak is also known as Sripada. This mountain is a landmark mountain in Srilanka. It’s about 2.243 m (7.359 ft). So, what makes Adam’s Peak special than the others? Adam’s Peak is a sacred site for some religions. There is a footprint at the top of the mountain. Buddhism (consider it as the left foot of the Buddha); Hinduism (consider it as the footprint of Lord Shiva); Islam and Christian (consider it as footprint of Adam, the first Ancestor, when he was exiled from the Garden of Eden).
Now, I want to share about how to get there from Colombo. Start from Pettah Bus Station, Colombo, I took a kind of public minivan to Hatton. After 3 hours, I arrived in Hatton Bus Station. Then, a man from hostel picked me up to go to Dalhousie by private minivan. Travelers, who want to Adam’s Peak, usually stay in Dalhousie. There is hostel and guesthouse to stay before start to reach Adam’s Peak. From Hatton to Dalhousie, it took about an hour.
During the trip from Hatton to Dalhousie, I stopped at an old church and took some pictures. Its name is Christ Church Warleigh, built in 1878. I loved the scenery around this place, beautiful and peaceful.
