Contribute to the Urban Harvesting Reader

This reader is a collection of stories, wisdom, recipes, maps and the like that document the urban harvesting movement across US communities. Share your vignettes about harvesting within your own community, maps of public fruit trees, your favorite recipes in which you’ve used city harvested fruit, or any other stories that illuminate what it means to be part of the urban harvesting community. This collection will be shared on the Forage Oakland website as well as partner sites at the end of 2014. Submissions accepted until October 31, 2014. Click here to submit. There are a number of ways to get involved with us this season. Here are the main ways:

• sign up to have your tree harvested

• receive harvested fruit

• lend a hand harvesting or redistributing fruit

You can also get involved these ways:

• contributing to our fruit memory archive: email forageoakland [at] gmail [dot] com for more details

• collaborate with us in any number of capacities: fruit tree mapping or recipe sharing, to name a couple of examples

• outreach: serve as a liaison for your street or block: rally people to participate in Forage Oakland and share their fruit with their neighbors
