On Lingering In Pain…

I wanted to title this article “Lingering When You Should Move On”, but that seemed too long. Also, ellyipsis add a hint of mystery to sentences and titles in my opinion. Clickbait! Anyway… Dictionary.com defines the word linger in three ways: 1. to remain or stay on in a place longer than is usual or expected, as if from reluctance to leave, 2. to remain alive; continue or persist, although gradually dying, ceasing, disappearing, etc. 3. to pass (time, life, etc.) in a leisurely or a tedious manner (usually followed by away or out).  I recently turned 21 and every year on my birthday begin… Continue reading On Lingering In Pain…

Yes, But Not Right Now…

Yesterday my sister walked into my room and asked if I wanted to watch The Wiz. My response was yes, but not right now. She then replied, “Ok well we are watching it right now.” Then she left. This may seem like an insignificant moment but it caused me to do a brief reflection of… Continue reading Yes, But Not Right Now…

Interview With Berklee Alumni Brandon Maclin

A few weeks ago I conducted an interview with a friend and Berklee Alumni Brandon Maclin. I attend Berklee College of Music at the moment, and it was an honor to interview someone who introduced me to Berklee. However the post I wrote never got published. I put a lot of work into the… Continue reading The Electric Piano and It’s Revolution On Jazz

It’s Okay To Be Emotional!

I just read an article on ForHarriet entitled “They Fail To See Our Ugly Truth”, and it really made me think. The article was based around an episode on the popular BET show Being Mary Jane. In the episode entitled Sparrow, one of the supporting characters, Mary Jane’s best friend committed suicide. We later find out that… Continue reading It’s Okay To Be Emotional!

Where Are The Black/Latino Teen & Young Adult Movies?

I am a huge fan of teen movies, like many other young adults I know. You Can’t Lose Someone Who’s Already Gone

Every time a close friend leaves my life I wonder why. I wonder if I did something to push them away, or maybe my personality drove them off. I usually try to salvage the broken relationship until I have no choice but to move on. I should know better by now and be stronger, but… Continue reading You Can’t Lose Someone Who’s Already Gone
