This blog is inspired by the game play style of SelahFreeAtLast who basically lets her sims run around and do their own thing.
I started playing this style as an experiment and got addicted, though it is very hard to resist the urge to play god.
Basically, you start a new game, populate it with townies, CAS, exchange sims, whatever you fancy. I randomise all traits so as to make it more interesting. I use “freerealestate” to move them in and then if you want babies, etc, it is a wise plan to stock the house with the necessaries as a discrete “hint” to your sims. Not that it always works out the way you want it to!
Then the fun begins. Switching households, you check up on your charges to see how they are getting along.
Unfortunately, some Simmies are completely useless which requires the “Hand of Pixie” (inspired by my friend moondaisy’s “Birdie”) to intervene.
This dabbling *cough* will be kept to a minimum, but sometimes they do need a nudge along with regard to relationships or getting their butts off the couch and getting a job!
Mostly I will just comment as things happen, but I might on occasion add some dialogue for comedy sake or whatever.
Anyway, let’s begin… Pixie is desperate to start practicing the “wrath of the gods”.
P.S. Scarletsimphony asked me about Story Progression hacks or mods. I thought I should mention that I have no hacks or mods in my game and this SP is happening according to EA’s default version of it.
MTF = Meet the Families
FFM = Favorite Freewill Moments
“HOP” = Hand of Pixie

w00t I have always wanted to try this sort of experiment. Will be interested to see how this turns out!

Hi Catherine! Thanks for dropping by 😀
LOL, yes, when I read you blog the other day, and I kept mentioning my freewill sims, I was reminded about what fun they are. Dee a.k.a SelahFreeAtLast, also mentioned wanted to read about it, so I thought I would start a blog.
But really, all credit should go to Dee as I first saw her idea in a thread regarding populating towns in the TS3 forum. I have been following the antics her sims get up to and thought it was so much fun I should try my hand at it.

Even the title is funny. ” Wrath of the gods.” I love it. We are the hands of the gods!
Have you ever thought of the sims when you go to get something and it’s not where you thought it was? I do. Sometimes I look up and wonder.
Thanks for mentioning me.
The day I go to the door and it has moved, well, that’s the day I’ll just sit on the couch and wait to be directed to do…. whatever.

Hi Dee:) You welcome! I could not do this without mentioning you, since it was your fabulous idea. Thanks for dropping by.
My sims always seem to have the worst luck! Even Morticia was doomed. I think the game jinxes me on purpose! So I am glad I found your way of gameplay so that I could portray my bad luck in a blog!

Hi worsiedog!
This sounds like a lot of fun. Anarchy and chaos indeed…
Can’t wait to see Pixie in action. Thank you for mentioning ‘birdie’ too. 🙂
Your new blog looks al fresh and neat. I like the banner!

Thanks moondaisy:) I have a new banner planned for CrinkleWinkle as well.
This theme actually turned out to be quite user friendly.
How could I not mention ‘Birdie’ 🙂

Yay! You’ll find this style of play is pretty addictive. I blame Dee! Her blog got me started experimenting with more and more free will.
The Pixie will have it’s day!

Thanks Chrysame! I was not sure if your Lesen stories were completely freewill?
By: worsiedog on October 31, 2009
at 7:25 pm
Not completely. Some sessions are completely free will, in some the puppetmaster does little things and in others that darn mysterious hand interferes more than it should.
I’ve had the most surprising and interesting stuff happen when I haven’t interfered that much.

Indeed! LOL… Freewill is full of fun and surprises.
Lol, I know what you mean though, it is extremely difficult to ‘resist’ the urge to click buttons when you can see your sims messing up!

Ooh, interesting experiment – looking forward to seeing how it goes.

Thanks Rad… LOL, it’s going totally unexpectedly atm, which is exactly the way chaos and anarchy should reign right? 😀

This is so much fun! I’ll be following you story. Looks like I have some catching up to do. I’m going to go read all that you’ve posted here now.
Best regards,

Rad had me blushing all evening last night after I saw that review. I hope you enjoy reading, just a note that the next 2 updates will only be up after the 23rd as I have an exam to write on that day.

Hey, worsie! Do you consider this project more of a “challenge” or rather a “story?” I’m trying to decide how to classify it when I link to it on my blog. I thought I’d ask the author. 🙂

Hmmm… LOL, at the moment this darn thing is driving me insane but not because of the story but rather other things.
Can it really be a challange because I am doing my own thing? I dunno, it’s not quite a story either because it will not follow a continued plot forever with stagnant characters like BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL.. lol
I think it would be best to call it a challange then?
Working on the new update atm, so expect an update in the next few hours, barring internet malfunction of course.
Challange it is! Thanks for linking me DB! *cheesy grin*

Hi, everyone!
I am sorry for my long absence.
Various personal issues/circumstances, internet malfunctions and other things have kept me away from my game, this blog and really time for myself in general:(
I have not been able to even open my game since December, nor come online.
I apologise to my readers for this.
Sometimes life just throws unexpected curveballs that one can do nothing about.
Thanks for you understanding in advance.
worsiedog.

Worsie,
I have checked in here from time to time to see if you were back yet. Believe me when I say YOU ARE MISSED!
Having said that, I understand that life can take hold of the steering wheel and send you off in a different direction than you intended sometimes. Take care of what you need to and come back when you can.

Hi DB,
Besides for lots of stuff in life, my PC was, well the dvd drive, was and is still messed up… BUT!!! I do have a new laptop, and I have re-uploaded sims, and I got the night life exp pack…. I have windows 7 so I am not sure if I can transfer the save files from the old blogs here… however, I am having that one fixed for my kids at the end of the month, so if need be, I hope to continue, those 2 blogs there.
I am starting a new blog on this PC, but I will be doing a front page, regarding my absence, etc on this blog in the next week.
Thanks for your support…
Kind regards,
Pixie

I generally play the game this way. I control only one Sim and leave freewill on “high”. I let my Sims do their own thing and just sort of gently push them toward their wishes and goals.
I have yet to see anyone get a job on their own though. Even on sims I don’t directly control I always have to manually get them a job.
