Dear Members of GLAOFNA,

With profound sadness, we share the news of the passing of Erin, the beloved daughter-in-law of Smt. Banuben and Shri Rambhai Gadhavi.

Erin was far more than a wife, a mother, a daughter-in-law, or a friend. She was a woman of warmth, strength, and quiet grace, whose kindness and generosity of spirit touched every life she encountered. Her life was a shining example of love and devotion — to her husband Mehul, to her sons Jalen and Tej, and to her daughter Alina.

Although her journey with us ended far too soon, at the age of only 53, Erin’s presence has left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Even as she bravely battled ALS, Erin — alongside Mehul — faced every challenge with courage, dignity, and resilience, teaching us all the true meaning of strength.

Today, while we deeply mourn her loss, we also celebrate the love, joy, and inspiration she shared so freely. Let us join together in prayer for Mehul, Jalen, Tej, Alina, and the entire Gadhavi family, that they may find solace in her everlasting love and the strength of our collective support.

May her soul rest in eternal peace.

આગામી (September 2025) સંમેલન માટેની તૈયારી દરમિયાન, અમે આપણા સમુદાયના સાહિત્યકારોના પ્રયાસોને માન આપવા આતુર છીએ. જો તમે તાજેતરમાં કોઈ પુસ્તક લખ્યું હોય અને તેની જાહેરાત અથવા વિમોચન, સંમેલનમાં કરવા ઇચ્છતા હોવ, તો અમે તે અંગે આપને મદદ કરવા ઉત્સુક છીએ.

હું આપ સૌને યાદ કરાવું કે Gujarati Literary Academy of North America (GLAOFNA) એક નફો ‘ન’ કરતી સંસ્થા છે. અમે હંમેશાં પ્રવાસી ગુજરાતી લેખકોને પ્રોત્સાહન આપવા માટે કાર્યરત છીએ, પરંતુ માત્ર એ જાહેરાત કે તમે પુસ્તક લખ્યું છે – તેનાથી સંસ્થાને આર્થિક રીતે કોઈ ફાયદો થતો નથી.

આ કારણે, જો તમે તમારું પુસ્તક સંમેલનમાં જાહેર કરાવવા ઈચ્છો છો, તો:

• કૃપા કરીને ઇવેન્ટ માટે નોંધણી કરો અથવા સંસ્થાને આર્થિક સહાય આપો.
• તેમજ, તમારું પુસ્તક ક્યારે ઉપલબ્ધ થશે અને ક્યાંથી ખરીદી શકાય – તે માહિતી અમને ઇમેઇલ દ્વારા મોકલવી જરૂરી છે.

આ સંજોગોમાં અમારી પરિસ્થિતિને સમજવા બદલ અને સંસ્થાના ઉદ્દેશને ટેકો આપવા બદલ અમે તમારાં આભારી રહીશું. આપનો સહયોગ જ આપણા સાહિત્યિક પ્રયત્નોને આગળ વધારવાનું સાધન બને છે.

આપણું તેરમું દ્વિવાર્ષિક સાહિત્ય સંમેલન સપ્ટેમ્‍બર 5-6-7, 2025 દરમ્યાન શેરેટન એટ એડિસન, ન્યુ જર્સીમાં યોજાય છે. એમાં હાજરી આપવા આપને હાર્દિક આમંત્રણ છે.

આ સંમેલન માટે સાહિત્ય જગતના સુપ્રસિદ્ધ સાહિત્યકારો અને સાહિત્યલક્ષી મનોરંજન માટે સુપ્રસિદ્ધ કલાકારોને આમંત્રણ આપવામા આવશે છે.  સંમેલન વિશેની પ્રાથમિક માહિતી આ સાથે મોકલીએ છીએ જેમાં સંમેલનનું રજિસ્ટ્રેશન ફૉર્મ, હોટેલ રૂમ રિઝર્વેશનની માહિતી અને ઍકેડેમીના સભ્ય થવા ઇચ્છતા આપના મિત્રો માટેનું ફૉર્મ પણ છે. આ જ માહિતી અને દરેક જરૂરી ફોર્મ ઍકેડેમીની વેબસાઇટ www.glaofna.com પર પણ મળશે.

As we prepare for our much-anticipated 13th Biennial Sammelan taking place on September 5, 6, and 7, 2025, we are delighted to present a special pre-event gathering designed to inspire and connect our community.

We warmly invite you to join us on Sunday, June 15 at 4:00 PM for an engaging program featuring memorable Gujarati songs, the stories and emotions behind the music, and remarkable narratives from Gujarati literature. This event promises to be both entertaining and enriching—a perfect reflection of our shared heritage and love for Gujarati Sahitya.

To make the experience even more enjoyable, we will be serving complimentary tea and snacks before the program begins.

This gathering is also an important opportunity to hear exclusive announcements and updates regarding the upcoming Sammelan. We strongly encourage all members to attend and take part in shaping the future of our vibrant community.
