Postponed

i am currently typing with the on screen keyboard as mine got milk spilled all over it. My laptop almost didn’t work last night and since I didn’t get the 5 hours of playing I needed to finish up the chapter I had I don’t have enough content to make a chapter. So next week will be a special chapter in which something unexpected will happen. 3 guesses! Anyway. I am really sorry to all my readers (of which I am not sure there are many) and see you next week.

Planning

A/N: I apologize for the terribly quality of the blog today. I had very little time to play this week and literally got done playing at 3:30 and barely had enough time to post and write it. Next week we will start and it will be so much better. So keep reading please!

So sometimes I get a little agitated with my lot in life and throw eggs at unsuspecting houses. Sometimes the cops get involved….sometimes they catch me and sometimes they don’t. This is one of those time they didn’t.

However, my sister Phedre did and she grounded me. Grounded! I couldn’t go to my new job or do anything. I had to call in and quit before I even really got started. Boy she makes me so mad.

But since she was an adult and about to be married, my mother gave her full reign and she took it. In fact she was having her wedding. She invited tons of people and my mom rented some things to put in the backyard so she could get married at the house. When or If I decide to get married, it certainly won’t be here.

Rebekah Jones came…man she’s gotten so good looking. I am not really interested in dating right now, but she wouldn’t be a bad place to start.

The ceremony was pretty enough. My sister was radiant and excited and Owen was pretty cool about the whole thing. The kiss kind of grossed me out though. She’s still my sister.

They cut the wedding cake and said a few words of wisdom…

Then we dug in and boy was the cake really really good. It was the best part I think.

Then I heard them doing unholy things in my room. My ROOM. Ugh.

The next day my mother ungrounded me and told me not to do it again. I promised her I wouldn’t but secretly I wasn’t so sure.

Well, remember how I said that the arrangement would only be temporary until my sister and Owen were settled in. Things didn’t exactly go to plan there. In fact, she was now pregnant and insane.

My sister attended her graduation and was named Valedictorian.

And Mel decided to help mother with her gardening. Not sure why, but I don’t think I like it. She’s got a job at the business building where I want to work. We are going to tag team it.

Owen is really fun to play chess with. We are about tied with wins and misses. He’s working at the hospital now and is thinking about becoming a surgeon. Big money in that.

My sister and Owen both want a boy. The firstborn son to protect the women and all of that. I don’t think I want kids right now…maybe not ever. My wife can just deal with them.

She and Owen both read pregnancy books and all sorts of classes on becoming parents. I didn’t even know there were classes on how to take care of babies. Don’t they just come with instructions?

I laughed when Mel broke the sink. So did Dad.

“What are you going to name the baby?”

“Not sure. We are thinking either Julian or Remington.”

“Remington? Like Remington Steel?”

“No, Owen says it is a kind of car. He could be Remy for short.”

“Hi Remy. This is your auntie Mel.” I think it is all the estrogen in the room that is making them both so baby oriented.

Owen is ecstatic about the baby. I always thought he was more of a girl than a man. It is kind of hard not to be excited about the kid. I mean everyone is really really excited about the baby. It has infected me a bit too.

I told Mel about the dance that was on Saturday and even though I really didn’t want to go she encouraged me to. She didn’t have one, because of repairs they were doing to the school, so she wanted me to go.

Well I had a decent time when the Limo came. I didn’t have a date but I did have a pretty cool suit, which I saw someone else in too. I had the vote rigged so I was Prom King, and I got into a fight with some guy about his snide comment about what I was wearing. This suit was brand new you bastard.

At least Mom is getting one grandkid before she kicks it. She is getting pretty old.

Owen started yelling and dancing around when Phedre told him that she was having contractions. Mom had to hit him over the head and tel him to take her to the hospital. I was laughing my ass off.

Turns out after 3 hours of labor she had a boy they named Remington. He was all wrinkly and red and didn’t seem very cute at all. I suppose kids grow into that.

Everyone kept saying he was beautiful, even when he screamed and boy was I getting really tired of the screaming. Don’t kids come with mute buttons? Or at least thicker walls?

Although the little bugger almost shared my birthday. I invited some prospective girlfriends over to test the waters as well as mom’s friend and a guy I knew from school. Carolina and Yadira were two of the prettiest girls in school. Well…. In a school of about 20 there isn’t much to choose from. Bekah even came.

When it hit about 5 o’clock I stood in front of the cake, thinking of a wish, while everyone cheered and blew out the candles.

This hairstyle was definitely not on the wish list. First thing to be changed…everything.

Pre-Planning

I have come to notice that I have a really odd name. My name is Alcuin Grayson.  I am the youngest in my family and the only boy born in 3 generations. But that is a tale for a bit later. I was born here in Riverview to my parents. They are living in separate houses and have been for a while. It gets frustrating sometimes, having to travel between them like luggage. My mother would get upset at me for saying that. But it’s true. I have two older sisters.

Growing like Weeds

I began to have nightmares after the argument. I dreamed about them…their forms on fire, in the explosion that changed my life. I begged them not to hate me. They never said anything…just stared at me. Time passed by slowly after our argument, my head filled with things that I wished to tell someone but couldn’t seem to bring myself to do so. Home life was better. Don was less agitated but I was just depressed unless I preoccupied myself with things. Every month I would bring in the harvest from my garden and sell it to the grocery store. It got to the point where there would be a line at the store for my produce. It made me feel accomplished and better because now I could afford more things for my children, who were growing like weeds.
