Existing Gundam news site made it redundant for me to become just another voice contributing to the noise. Hence, I decided to step away. Recently, I have been itching to write and drafted up some short stories based on Gundam. I would like to share them with readers who are interested. They are a mix of character studies, writing in a Gundam setting and plain fan fiction. The source of my inspiration? The Mobile Suit Gundam novels.
Gundam panoramic simulator
Banpreto and Bandai has jointly produced Senjo No Kizuna, a simulator that features mecha from the Gundam universe. The player controls the mecha via dual joysticks and foot pedals, just as the pilots do in the anime and manga. The simulator display is a mock-up of the panoramic cockpit that many mecha use.
The player’s scores can be stored in a card. You can build upon your scores by using the card when you play the game some other time. You can upgrade your mecha as your score improves.
The simulator is connected to a network that allows you to fight with players all over Japan, instead of just in the arcade where you play from.

Gundam 00 Theme
A news article from Sports Houchi announced the release of the first theme song for Gundam 00. Daybreak’s Bell by L’Arc~en~Ciel is the first theme song for the new Gundam series.
SD Gundam collection
Sunrise have announced the release of a 4-disc DVD collection of most of the various SD Gundam animations. Notable exclusions include the SD Gundam Wacky Races and the recent Superior Defender Gundam Force. The collection will come with extras such as interviews with SD Gundam creative staff and a special video looking at the past, present and future direction of the series.
The DVD set is scheduled to be released on 23rd November at 25,200 yen.
Mobile Suit Gundam MS Jeans
These jeans are designed based on the settings of final periods of the One Year War. There were material shortages as well as controlled movements of goods during wartime. Hence, the simplicity in the design of the jeans, which are made to replicate clothing from that era.

“Human Progressive League (aka People’s Reform League, etc…still no official English version yet. Pick your favorite translation.) mass-production MS. Many variations for ground and space-use exist. Compared to MS in other armies, the unit is unusual in that its very slow. But as much as it sacrifices in mobility, it has strong defensive abilities and can be loaded with heavyweight armaments. It’s basic weaponry is a gun & Carbon Blade and though seen as an old model in contrast to other forces, its very reliable.”
