Oi! We are gonna do this little tour out to the east coast with our buddies sexface from Montreal. See you there. RAT ATTACK!!!
CHOKEHOLD GIG…
Here’s a special one. I was on tour with these guys pretty much exactly 20 years ago to the day. Time flys when you’re having fun I guess. Will be great to share the “stage” again after so many years. 90’s hardcore diehards take note, no age limit!

NEXT GIG
2 GIGS THIS WEEKEND
VASSIL MESTER
Apologies to our friends and colleagues in Montreal. We have to cancel this show on friday so we can play the show that no one wants to play. Condolences to everyone who knew VASSIL, especially his family. This has been a tough week for all of us who lost this lovely guy. I read somewhere about how VASSIL is another lost unsung rock n roll hero or something like that. It sucks how we are surrounded by all these super talented great people who are life long hardcore punk warriors and we take them for granted. Its people like VASSIL who make punk and hardcore a special scene that people on the outside can’t understand. VASSIL had a great spirit, a true enthusiasm for music and he celebrated others sucesses as well as his own. He was a true individual in a sea of clones. I’m sad to see him go.

Finally there first LP just in time for the European tour starting the 12th september. This band features members of Brutal Knights, Toxic Holocaust, Career Suicide, Bad Skin and for sure Uranus and Chokehold to mention some more old bands Jon was in, ha ha. This one sounds way better than the 7″s to me. Like the missing link between Totalitär and Poison Idea and the very first bands Deranged Records put out. 16 songs in 21 minutes, but still has lots of variety. Short banger and less than 2 minute long ballads you will all love. A rager!

Hassler is a ripping hardcore band from Toronto. These guys construct thrashy, meaty and barbaric hardcore punk with an incredible overall sound. Throaty howls are shouted over thick, hard-hitting drums, distortion-coated punk riffs and muddled bass lines. These guys are just plain mean and will hopefully continue to release more quality jams as good as their current discography already is. Snag everything below and be amazed. Dig!

Deranged Records have done it again by signing another sick fucking band called HASSLER. These rippers hail from Toronto and bring the freaking pain on their soon to be released album Fed, Worked and Watered. All 16 songs are underground raging anthems that will make you want to punch your haters in the grill just for looking at you funny. HASSLER crank out that kind of d-beat-infused thrash that makes me feel 15 again. Do yourself a favor – press play below and find a cop to punch in the eye…I’m just saying that HASSLER’s riffs will have you on some hyped shit!

HASSLER is a ripping hardcore band from Toronto. These guys construct thrashy, meaty and barbaric hardcore punk with an incredible overall sound. Throaty howls are shouted over thick, hard-hitting drums, distortion-coated punk riffs and muddled bass lines. Bandmembers from BRUTAL KNIGHTS, SCHOOL JERKS, CARRER SUICIDE etc.! Sounds like old Deranged releases, highly recommend for music nerd who likes POISON IDEA, NO PROBLEM or P.R.O.B.L.E.M.S. , Killer release!

After a banger of a beginning on the great Beach Impediment label, the debut long-player from Hassler shows up courtesy of Deranged Records. If you’re worried that anything has changed, then don’t be… this still sounds like something that Beach Impediment would put out. It’s total bulldozer-style hardcore with gnarly vocals that sound kind of like a mix of Choke from Negative FX / Last Rights and Mark from Wasted Time / Mercy Killings. The playing is mega-tight and the production is thick and explosive. This reminds me a lot of the tougher bands to come out of the 80s USHC resurgence of a few years ago… Wasted Time, Cardiac Arrest, and Omegas in particular. If you’re into tough, straightforward hardcore along the lines of the aforementioned bands or newer stuff like Firing Squad and Violent Reaction then this should definitely spend some time on your turntable.
