Family Pictures

One of my amazing roommates from my single days took our family pictures last week.  With two squirmy kids, one of which kept making faces whenever he was asked to smile...we were anticipating that the pictures would turn out "ok"...but they took our breath away!  Greta is so skilled!

I'll just post a picture of my boys here, but check out her blog to see more...we're one of the newer posts right now.

She only posted 8 of the 37 that she sent us.  Guess you'll just have to come visit us to see them all...we'll be printing them out this week.  And if you need family pictures in the meantime...Greta's e-mail is gretasoha@gmail.com :)

Going to Ethiopia!

So we're not really going to Ethiopia, we already went...well, kind of. For our date last week Hyrum was in charge and we went to an Ethiopian restaurant in Salt Lake.  It was a really cool cultural experience.
The waitresses and chefs were Ethiopian, the Ethiopian manager came out and explained all the food to us, we sat in traditional Ethiopian style, and they played a movie with traditional dancers and singers in the background.  People were even speaking Amharic around us...one of 90 languages spoken in Ethiopia.

Boy did I marry the right man!  Not only did we have a fun date, I left the Ipad at the restaurant (we used it to take these pics), we didn't realize it til 10:00 that night, and he was totally calm about it like it's no big deal.  Just called up the restaurant, they said they'd hold it for us and we picked it up the next day.  Wow!  Cool under pressure...he balances out my stressed out personality :)  Love you Hyrum!

Brigham's Lullaby

Hyrum lays by Brigham most nights to help him say his prayers and then he asks Brigham to sing him a lullaby.  It's so cute!  Brigham loves to sing since we moved to Hannah and Nephi's home because music is a big part of their family times.  The lullaby last night ended up being for Teanne and he was talking about things she'll do...wake up, clap, etc...but clap sounds a little sketchy.  Promise it's not what you're thinking he's saying! Ha! Ha!

Teanne's Tricks

Teanne stands up on her own now, even from a sitting position.  She wants to walk so bad so she can keep up with her brother.  She gives high fives, claps, and shakes her head no...when she doesn't want something or when she knows she's caught doing something she shouldn't (like taking Kedrick's bottle, going up the stairs without Mommy behind her, etc).  We went to a party at Big Jon's last night and she kept lifting up the croquet mallets and waving them around, she wanted to play too! She's SO fun!

Date Night...Uh, Morning

For our date last week we woke up early Saturday morning, biked to a park in Sandy, and watched hot air balloons launch.  They're huge!  Thanks to Hannah & Nephi for watching our kids so we could go!

The guy taking the picture told us to move our heads out so he could get the balloon in...the pose is a little awkward, but you can see I'm wearing white shorts Paige...doesn't happen very often with kids around :)

We Moved!

Long story short...we moved into Hannah and Nephi's basement at the beginning of July.  They are so kind to let us invade their home for awhile.  It's great because the kids always have a friend around now. Brigham and Joanna are the same age and so are Teanne and Kedrick.
Joanna and Brigham waiting on a neighbor friend's swing.
Brigham started making faces.  I asked him where he learned how to do that...his answer..."Nursery."  Kids are usually very truthful.  One morning he said "Bodyslam me Mom." I asked him who taught him about bodyslamming...his answer...Aunt Paige.  Paige later confirmed his statement. Ha! Ha!
Teanne just learned how to climb up the stairs.  She's getting pretty fast...I have to keep a close eye on her because she hasn't learned how to get down yet.
 Our kids LOVE watermelon!

We couldn't give them watermelon fast enough!  So we let Kedrick and Teanne feed themselves.
Going for a ride in the bike trailers. Yep, Teanne swiped Kedrick's bottle...and she's found her nose hole as you can see.

Jackpot!  We know better now than to leave amazing treats like this lying within reach.

I Love Our Kids!

Kids...They are a lot of work and a lot of fun!
I love what they come up with...giving Piggy a "piggy" back ride.  Thanks Grandma Blazzard!  Teanne loves it...when she can get it away from Brigham :)
I love how much they love being outside.

I love watching them learn new things.

 I love their smiles.

I love how much they love to be near us and copy us.
