This blog started as a workshop at a digital academy at UTEP, and I haven't returned to it since. But here is some of why it's called Hocus Pocus Focus Focus.

My 5 year old has a bit of a hard time sitting down and getting his work done at school. (He's five; he's a boy; he gets bored sometimes; he'd rather be talking about the Space Shuttle than counting to 100.) For Halloween, he was a wizard who ran around pointing his wand at his brother and saying "Hocus Pocus" and expecting something to happen. But when he asked me if "focus" and "pocus" rhyme, it became his mantra at school...Hocus Pocus Focus Focus. Did it work, not really, but maybe a little for me.

And, now it's something I can share with the students who need it. Who knows? It could be magic.

Two Truths and One Lie

Guess which statements are true and which statement is a lie:

I was the school mascot in high school. Go T-Birds!

I have two sons: Jackson and Carter.

I'm tech hot.
