The greatest asset of any organisation – no matter their size or specialist area – is their people. All unique individuals from diverse backgrounds. Ensuring they have the tools, knowledge and environment to thrive is critical to them and the success of the business.
I specialise in helping managers transform their teams in the following key areas:
1. Understanding and managing neurodivergent minds
There are two types of minds – neurotypical and neurodivergent. Neurodivergent people have an interest based nervous system. Their minds work a different way. Most work environments are built for neurotypical minds. Symptoms can often be mistaken for behaviour with disciplinary processes commencing negatively impacting everyone. This doesn’t have to be so.
Individuals – 1:1 Coaching enables you to recognise how your ADHD shows up and how to tame it. Your employer may fund this as part of their reasonable adjustments or you can claim under the Government’s Access to Work grant. As a CPD Certified ADHD Coach trained by ADHD Works, I adhere to their Ethical Compliance Framework. See the link below for more details.

Workplaces – Manager and Ally levels – humans make assumptions on what they sense about others. Raising awareness of what ADHD and other neurodivergent conditions might look like in the workplace enables greater understanding and inclusion. Managers learn some simple adjustments they can introduce which will also benefit neurotypical team members to as well as learning about their responsibilities under the Equalities Act 2010. Enabling teams to learn how to be an Ally to neurodivergent colleagues builds communication and empathy skills which make everyone feel they belong. Both sessions are CPD Certified. https://janejamesconsultancy.com/adhd-coaching-workplace/
Some thoughts from those who have done these innovative workshops:
“Insightful training. It gave me a lot of ideas for my team” Katie, Supervisor in Belfast
“A great new tool. Different to any other ADHD training I know off” Lois, National Account Director.
“How to be an Ally really resonated with me. I support many people with ADHD at work and home” Dora, London
2. Workplace psychological safety – aligned with ISO45003
I-Act Managing and Promoting Positive Mental Health and Wellbeing, a global programme designed specifically for generic workplaces for non-medical staff to use. There are two levels – Manager and Practitioner (non-manager). It teaches how to build in self-care to busy schedules, maintain safety when listening to someone’s emotional pain, how to validate and reassure someone, what signposting to consider and how to implement the knowledge learned. This is delivered virtually, has a digital or hardback manual, accredited by the Royal College of Psychiatrists for 3 years and carries CPD points.
“Jane has delivered mental health and wellbeing training to both staff and students. These are very sensitive audiences. I only entrust them to trainers I have faith in. The feedback I have received from Jane’s sessions has justified my faith. It is always very positive. It’s clear that Jane delivers training in an engaging and effective way. This ensures the content is both remembered and applied – a crucial outcome. I intend to book Jane as a trainer again and I have no hesitation in recommending her work to others” Personal view of client Paul Wilson, Staff Wellbeing Manager at Cardiff University
3. Bespoke commissions
When it comes to team empowerment training, in my experience, the most transformative programmes are not generic ‘off the peg’ ones.
Designing a programme to meet an individual organisation’s desired results demands collaboration, curiosity, and honesty to deliver a truly transformative experience.
With personal experience of the invisibility some people feel through life’s curve balls, I know the journey of fear some of your employees will go through joining your business and even once onboard when changes occur such as promotion or restructuring.
Change is scary. Especially change we want. Making workplaces safer and inclusive mitigates the fear of change enabling all to thrive. Not just survive.
How we ‘show up’ really matters. It determines if our connection with others will be positive or negative. Check out some of the previous bespoke commissions I’ve undertaken under the Workplace Solutions drop down menu.
Integrity, honesty, empathy, inclusion and transformation are key values for me. If I don’t believe I can help – I’ll tell you!
