hey there *covers face* i know i know…i’ve been missing…

it’s really been so long…since MAY!!! i am utterly ashamed of myself and and don’t blame you if you no longer check up on me…

do i have any excuse…errrmmm…not an excuse per se…a lot has happened since May–the summation of which has contributed to my continued absence…

the most prominent of occurrences is the ASUU strike…i even heard today that the teacher’s body have given the federal government a 2 week ultimatum to meet the needs of ASUU else they will join in the strike…PHEW!!!!

this September marks the 3rd month i have been at home…not my best holiday but i’m coping…

i’ve been thinking about changing my blog title…i’m thinking “musings of a Genie” is more like me…i dunno–what do you think?

moving on, a friend of mine recently asked me what’s up with all the ellipses…hehehhehe, i couldnt help that last one. well, nothing really except the fact that it gives me this feeling that i’m not “done” talking or writing or typing (whichever you prefer). the fact is; im hooked on it *shrugs*

errrmm..did i mention that i’ve missed you guys…*checks up, nahhhh, didnt* I HAVE MISSED YOU. i have missed school, being busy (i know when school resumes, i’ll be grumbling that i have no time for myself *rme) anyway, i have missed my friends and classmates…and the business of school. hehehehe

so does this mean i’m back full time…well….errmmm…i promise to do by best…

P.S. i have small gist for you…for most that know me…i have used extensions only once–when i was 7 *do you remember telephone wire* so recently i “fixed”–quite an experience *covers face*

If there is anything like the “Perfectest” of gentlemen I think I had just met him.

It wasn’t as though he was forcing the character or making a conscious effort at it; it just seemed to ooze out of him and trust me, every lady would love to experience that.

It concerned him that I was walking alone and he decided to accompany me despite my saying that I liked the lonely walks.

His presence was a welcome distraction not in a threatening or imposing way—it would be hard to imagine how the night would have been if he wasn’t there.

The conversation just kept coming…

Background info… we were acquainted—quite well, we often shared greetings and pleasantries, nothing more but I had always admired his cool calm demeanour from afar (not in that way, lol) I just felt he was well composed and (thinking…thinking harder…) and mature—I didn’t wan to use that word because there’s more to maturity than what most people think, gist for another time)

So back to today…he kicked off the conversation by inviting me for his event (his own initiative!!!) it’s always good to see young entrepreneurs—I envy them though—but it’s really encouraging.

I was more than trilled for him, young and future-minded (guys that’s always a bonus). Something struck me in our convo, he said he wasn’t always like this; talk about the right company polishing you in the right direction.

However, for most guys in his shoes with something to brag about, there is the tendency to overkill the moment by focusing the attention on self but he didn’t do that, he didn’t have to ask me questions to bring me out, the conversation thread did it for him and he always gave me those openings to add my voice to the mix without it being awkward.

Top it all, he eventually steered the focus from himself to me and for a moment made me shy to the extent that I could not look directly at him…it wasn’t a question he asked; rather a comment he made “you have a good stage persona” now for someone who had only seen me once as a compère, his observation was a much needed balm (for me who had started second guessing myself)

So he walked me to my hostel, not the road beside it, not the garden by it…but across the chain barricade, down the wide motorway to just in front of it. I thanked him, gave a quick hug and took 5 steps through the gate and up the stairs to my floor with his words resounding in my head,

“I see you having your own show…and really soon and we’ll all get to listen in…”

I smiled as I took the last turn down the hallway to the end where my room was situated… I tuck the words deep within my heart, opened the door and said, “hey girls”

i’m so excited…

i hope you enjoyed the Open up the Heaven video i posted last time, but truly, i hope you enjoyed the song and its message as much as i did…

we cant get enough of the outpouring from heaven.

it’s no news that I love music (don’t roll your eyes yet) and its exciting when you discover a new song and a new artiste who meets your needs and echoes your thoughts…its like discovering a new toy *giggles*

well i kinda did, i found a fantastic, powerful artiste with enough spunk, passion and message to keep me listening to her for a long time..she’s simply a pleasure to listen to. i love worship more but occasionally, i find a praise song that i really like…and i cant help but share *big grin*

i am talking about Meredith Andrews, a contemporary christian singer and worship leader…she has amazing vocals *pause!!! in one her songs, for a moment i thought she sounded a bit like Celine Dion–just my opinion)

Her lyrics are powerful, direct and heavy laden with many truths…

in “Open Up the Heavens” from her 2013 album “worth it all” i especially like the up beat– kinda like a fusion of Hillsong and  casting crowns. but more importantly are her lyrics…

in this song… she calls not for a glimmer of God’s presence but a complete rendering of the heavens because  ”we want to see You”
