How often we must bear the challenges of life,
the endless roller coaster between happiness and sorrow
the constant ups and downs of daily strife.
Life is not an easy road for most;
it twists and turns with many forks in the road,
although always, and inevitably, we are given a choice.
Do we turn to the right … or the left?
Do we take the high road … or the low?
Do we take the easy path … or the difficult one?
Decisions are not easy for those struggling for direction
and sometimes the many choices and signs become overwhelming
while standing at a crossroads in life.
For some, the urge is to take the most comfortable path,
the road with least resistance,
the shortest or most traveled route.
And yet, if we’ve been down that comfortable road before
having gleaned its lessons in life, and learned from our experiences,
do we yet again follow the known,
or does our destiny lie in another direction?
The fear of the road less traveled is tangible and all too real.
It manifests itself in many ways
and tends to cloud the issues that might otherwise be clear.
It is in these times of confusion
that we must contemplate on our life,
our experiences and our choices past
look back, and reflect on what we have learned
without regret.
For it is our own personal thoughts,
our unique past and personal history,
our experiences that bring us to the crossroads we face.
We can learn a small degree from the experiences of others
yet no one person can walk in our shoes,
for others know not, the trials and tribulations faced in private.
Each is individual, unique and personal.
And it is only through personal reflection,
that we can choose our destiny
and the future we will embrace.

so how do i tell you you’re making a huge mistake by bottling it up and throwing it all away.
how at some point it’s going to come rushing at you when you least expect it and break you
and then who will be there to pick up the pieces?
i will, because i love you.
but just for today, i hate you.

the moon is there for us to share
but where are you?
a night like this could
weave a memory.
tonight i’ll use the moon to wish upon
and the next full moon
if my one wish comes true
my empty arms will be filled
with you.

Until the sun shines its very last ray warming the earth,
brightening the day
Until the moonbeams cross the night in their final descent,
bringing light to the night
Until the rain brings its last drop to moisten the earth,
quenching the crop
Until the snow paints its farewell scene of silence in winter,
white and serene
Until my last day,
last minute,
last second
on this earth
I will love you ©

Walk with me, the path of life
Explore every bend of the road
Find comfort with me, in each other’s arms, when grief crosses our path
Find strength with me, in each other’s strengths, when despair lies in wait
Laugh with me, a single true laugh, to enlighten another’s distress
Cry with me, a single tear, to understand true happiness
Cherish with me, the wonders of life, as they need to be preserved
Rejoice with me in the mysteries of what is yet to be
Find peace with me, in each other’s souls, when the world has gone insane
Find love with me, in each other’s hearts, until this life has been fulfilled
And when the path has come to an end, wherever it may lead
I hope we can say we’ve know the beauty of true love
A love that came from within ©

Far Away
by Nickelback
This time, this place
Misused, mistakes
Too long, too late
Who was I to make you wait?
Just one chance
Just one breath
Just in case there’s just one left
‘Cause you know,
you know, you know …
That I love you
I’ve loved you all along
And I miss you
Been far away for far too long
I keep dreaming you’ll be with me
and you’ll never go
Stop breathing if
I don’t see you anymore
On my knees, I’ll ask
Last chance for one last dance
‘Cause with you, I’d withstand
All of hell to hold your hand
I’d give it all
I’d give for us
Give anything but I won’t give up
I wanted
I wanted you to stay
‘Cause I needed
I need to hear you say
That I love you
I have loved you all along
And I forgive you
For being away for far too long
So keep breathing
‘Cause I’m not leaving you anymore
Believe it
Hold on to me and, never let me go
Keep breathing
‘Cause I’m not leaving you anymore

I’ve heard that if you have a song stuck in your head the best way to get rid of it is to actively engage in another musical activity.
Play an instrument … sing a song … dance.
So it would make sense that if you had a person stuck in your head, engaging in activities with others and filling your time and your life with other people would help.
But I’ve found that when that person is in your heart and in your soul, he just keeps coming back.
I fill my life to overflowing –
with family, work, friendships. And I can be having a great day. A great night. A great moment. Then, suddenly, there he is again.
In my heart.
In my head.
In my soul.
There’s a moment like that every day. Some days, many moments. A song. A phrase. The moon. I never know where or when it’s going to hit me. But when it does, the longing is sometimes so intense that it actually hurts.
Time heals all wounds.
I’ve had other heartaches and losses in my life that I’ve recovered from so I know this to be true.
But still … now, this feels like it will never end.
It’s like having a song stuck in your head that just keeps playing again and again.
