Interview in the Scotsman by Alice Wyllie

I wanted to make sure as many get to read it as possible. I like the insights of the casting of Thorin, which we haven’t heard too much about yet. Apparently Peter Jackson hasn’t seen much of RA’s back catalog, which he is happy about. He was cast solely based on his audition, which must have been pretty damn good.

“Captain America” Not a review

22 Jul

If you can’t stand action/superhero type films, and all you really want is to see Richard Armitage… this movie isn’t for you. His part felt really fast. BUT! There were some good close up shots of his evil character, if you’re into that sort of thing 😉 He really did do a good job playing a hate-able Hydra Nazi. Once again he looked entirely different in this role. It was the way he protruded his jaw, I think. Kind of like in this photo:

It was… really exciting to see him the size of my house. And in 3D. Normally I hate 3D but I had no choice but to see it in 3D at the midnight show. He was coming right at me at one point! And those evil, evil eyes! So good 😉

Although the first time he spoke I was laughing so hard I could barely watch. It was his American accent. It wasn’t bad, but just so strange to hear it.

If you do like superhero movies, particularly of the Marvel kind, then you’ll enjoy this. Especially the Avengers teaser trailer at the end of the credits! I cheered the moment I saw Loki from “Thor” and geeked out for the rest of it. I liked Thor better, but this was a fun ride.

I love Hayley Atwell even more now.

Thorin is Yelling

And the yelling is good.

See the full video here on Facebook.

Thorin: This cannot be posted too many times.

I love that they were able to make him look a little older.

Heinz just wants to play superheros too

13 Jul

But they always leave him out. That’s why he works for Hydra now.

It’s kind of like Megamind 😉

I like Heinz

13 Jul

At least how he looks 😉

I got my CA tickets just now.

For the midnight show.

I’ll be wearing my Iron Man shirt.

I love Marvel movies.

HEH! I must join in on the post-tag fun. Check out RAfrenzy and Calexora’s more interesting posts on the same subject =D

Make-up and Skin CareTutorials

29 Jun

I’ve been busy since I got home on Wednesday with the Government. They’re after me! No, I’m after them and their money right now. Because I can’t work at the moment and I don’t know for how long it will be like this.

Anyhoo! There might be a rant coming up about the Thorin Look and why everyone should just calm down! I’m talking about the Nay-Sayers. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. Different opinions are fun. I’m talking about the ones that are freaking out just a little. It’ll be just fine, folks! Don’t worry so much! Please.

So anyway. Lately I have been interested in learning some make up tips and tricks. I never used to be interested in this sort of thing. I was a tom boy when I was young and really anti-fashion when I was a teen. My personal style was grunge before grunge became cool again. And again. I grew out of that phase and like to look a little nice and put together now and then.

My mom only wears lipstick and occasionally some mascara, so I had to look to the internet to learn how to put on make-up. Michelle Phan and Pixiwoo are my favourites. Here are a few of my favourites that I found useful for most days. I’ll just post some Michelle Phan ones in this post, but Pixiwoo’s videos are very good too.

Natural Beauty Tut0rial

This is a natural look that I like to use any day that I go out to do errands or shopping or to hang out with some friends. I like this video because she emphasizes that taking care of your skin is more important than how much make-up you wear. If you take care of it, you wont need to wear as much make-up. Her skin care routine is a little high maintenance for me, though. Basically all I do is cleanse and moisturize with the cheapest products I can afford 😉 But it does the trick. I also like how she uses the white eyeliner on her eyes. Sometimes it’s the only thing I wear on my eyes, along with mascara. Then if I want to wear something a little more in the evening, I just use a darker lipstick and add a little thicker line of eyeliner. Instant evening look!

Mascara 101

“A mascara is definitely not a one size fits for all.” I didn’t know that before I watched this video. This video taught me which mascara I should use for my lash type. From now on I’m buying mascara with a waxier base because I have thin lashes.

Green Goodness (Green Tea-Avocado Face Mask)

One thing I love about Michelle Phan is that she is always showing us how to make natural cleansers and masks that are healthy, easy to make, and usually inexpensive. I couldn’t find the link to my most favourite face mask tutorial, but I like this one just as well. I love avocado in general. And green tea. I think I’ll make myself a cup after I publish this post, mmmm.

Her fashion and hair videos are interesting too. Though my hair isn’t long enough for the “hair scarf” but maybe I’ll try it one day.

Alright, green tea, here I come.

(And maybe I’ll finish off that Hobbit post as well)

a new Richard Armitage wallpaper

22 Jun

I’ve at least 3 drafts going for this blog, but can’t seem to get myself to finish any of them. This will pass in time. I’m just in a rut, mentally and emotionally. But other than that I’m feeling just fine. So that’s something! I am hoping things will look up after this weekend. I’m really looking forward to this weekend.

I made a wallpaper for another website but decided I’m not going to send it in. I’d rather upload it here and allow you guys to use it, if you want to.

Preview:

Sorry that the dimensions aren’t as big as the previous 2 I made… I would have made it bigger if I knew right away I wasn’t going to send it in! 😉

The floor is by Enchanted-stock. I can’t remember the rest, but I’ll credit as soon as I do!

Oh, the TV is by Camiluchiiz! Remembered that one…

Riot Aftermath

16 Jun

Over a million dollars of damage later. People have finally gone home.

A Facebook page has been made to try to help identify some of the rioters. Also another page urging people to help clean up the city. Nearly 13,000 say they’re going to help. That’s more like the city I know.

Some incredible photos here showing what it was like down there. Besides the actual violence, what I find disturbing is the amount of people who just hung around posing in front of the burning cars thinking all this was just a big joke. All of this could have been taken care of a lot sooner if all the spectators had just gone home.

Thanks to Facebook, some of the hooligans are practically handing themselves in:

I hope he does get charged. Enough people have reposted this that he can’t take it back now.

Last night’s activity was a huge blow to the city. Not because of the Canucks, but because of their so-called fans.

I’ll go see if anybody needs help today.

Riot in Vancouver

15 Jun

I’m finally breaking my lull in blogging to talk about this situation we got going on here in Vancouver.

It’s not a full blown riot as I am typing this, but it could turn into one any minute now.

There’s already lots of damage and some people are injured but so far it’s not as bad as 1994.

I am a huge Vancouver Canucks fan, but I’m very embarrassed this is happening.

Congrats, Boston!

Update: Getting worse by the minute. Will update when it finally dies down.
