Comic Underground Magazine is an alternative comic book born in protest against the rise of mediocrity in comics and pop culture. A story told through cheeky comic allegory and editorial-style rants in a bid to sober up entertainment away from creative rot, and seek guidance back onto the path of glory.

But first, to restore through the underground what has been quietly banished by modern day hypersensitivity: Old school comedy that bows to no political correctness. This is a counterculture call to return integrity to craft.

Goddamn, I worked my ass off on this book. Taking a good break now after coming close to burning out. Was such fun and I always enjoy the process. But after each project is complete, an emptiness always sets in. The same question inevitably comes up every time: Why am I even doing comics? I know the answer, but it never makes sense to me, and I’ll never understand why it’s my be-ing. I guess some questions are meant to be unanswered. And not having a choice makes it that much easier to flow with, really. I’m thankful to know who I am.  

Still, I’ve always felt like an outsider, even in comics. I don’t mix around well with other creators, detest self-promotion, and prefer to keep a low profile. INFJs be damned. But in a couple of weeks, I’d have to jump-start the old promo/marketing engine again for the new book. Fucking hell. If it wasn’t for its limited release, I’d have half a mind to just slip them into some bookstores and call it a wrap, as I’ve always had little enthusiasm to hold book events or appear anywhere. But that would be doing the book a disservice, which as logic dictates, is unthinkable and ultimately a crime against the self especially when done knowingly. Pft, I doubt anyone would come anyway. But fine, I’ll do it only so I can say that I did it. No excuses. Come on, Kenfoo. It’s not that hard.

God I hate social media. Heh. I never thought I’d return to this blog space again for cathartic thoughts into the void. No stupid likes and reacts. Just peace and quiet.
