Sunday Vibes

Raising the Roof

Ocean Dreams

Ocean dreams
Hair fanned out
Sinking
Into shallow pools
Drown out the shouts
Floating like seaweed
Thoughts washed away
Stripped bare
By sparkling sand
Into the bay
Rough edges smoothed
In a sunlight haze
Worries rippled over
Carried on turquoise waves

Last Night

Last night I dreamt of you
Of course you hadn’t changed
Left unaged
Still free
Pure and wild
Bursts of creativity
Unchained by convention
Wearing what no-one else
Could dare wear
A blurry haze
Always smiling
Mischief and mayhem
Within lapis lazuli gaze
Brimming with wit
Infectious fun
Next to you I was clumsy
So very awkward
Picking up the sun
Left behind in your shadow
But I didn’t mind
If I wasn’t found
If others saw just you
Your voice the only sound
Untethered
Never challenged
Through my blinkered view
Inexplicable
Burning bright
I would always seek you

Memory Tree

Rip Tide

Those who are lost in time
Do they pack a toothbrush
Before the rip tide
Takes them away
Swirling unseen
From this life
Their fractured timeline
Do they pause or blink
Or just inhale
Spluttering on time’s shore
To start again
And try once more

Apple Market

I’m a Grinch but the Apple Market always brings cheer
